quick note[edit]

"Bulk Cooking Material" is not an in-game term, or at least I've not noticed it yet. The tooltip identifies them as "Consumable" and we sub-divide them as Packages, because when you use them they produce other items. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:33, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

Wasn't sure what you were getting at but I think found what you were referring to. It was going to be a category but I changed it. Bulk cooking ingredients are not packages per your own definition of "receive random supplies or coins". Bulk ingredients are not random. You buy bananas you get bananas. :) A possible project I had considered was fixing this error. — Malacon on Blackgate 13:43, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
The error is not in identifying these as packages; rather, the "error" was in the description of a Package. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:14, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Found my reference to "Bulk Cooking Material". It is from the Update Notes - September 8th 2012 post by Jon Peters. Within this post he says "Increased the karma costs of all Bulk Cooking Materials." Malacon on Blackgate 05:14, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I notice that he also mentions "loot bags" in there. I suppose we could use those terms to split up packages. However, why does your project call for those to be in the category "Ingredients (Bulk)"? That doesn't match the term at all; it should be "Bulk cooking materials". And your project/category for "patch notes" is also incorrect, they're called "update notes". —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:33, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
The way he wrote loot bags without caps implied to me that loot bags was his general description not the actual name given to that group of items. I think if it were his official name it would have had caps. He seemed pretty consistent with caps on official terms. As I said before, I was going to use Bulk Cooking Materials as he wrote the term. When checking I saw there was an Ingredients category already in use. Since Bulk is a sub-category of Ingredients I went with Ingredients (Bulk) thinking it would be easier to correlate than the longer term. Patch Notes is my old school brain. Decades of gaming and they were always called Patch Notes. Some people feel better if they reinvent the wheel I guess. They should be renamed but Update Notes didn't sound right to me so I went with what I was used to for now. Being projects they are open to change. &mdash Malacon on Blackgate 13:51, 13 September 2012 (UTC)
I'm not the only one! :) Just noticed that Aidan Taylor (English Community Manager) thinks they are patch notes also. SEE THISSkill challenge.png Malacon Skill challenge.png on Blackgate — 16:48, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
They're basically interchangeable terms, yes, but the way that he wrote patch notes without caps implied to me that patch notes was his general description, not the actual name. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 17:48, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
Oh yea I know. Just laughed when I saw him use patch notes after our conversation here. :) I would wager that if Aidan had posted the first set they wouldn't have been called Update Notes at all. All good either way. Was just amused and thought I'd share. lol — Skill challenge.png Malacon Skill challenge.png on Blackgate — 17:54, 18 September 2012 (UTC)
