Mystic Forge/Other Items[edit]

In regards to your revert of the edit I made, I was not implying that the recipes were speculation, obviously they're confirmed Mystic Forge recipes that haven't been tried yet. I was instead referring to the "Presumed Result" section that I removed with the edit, which lists what the recipe might make. This is speculation by every definition, and does not belong on the wiki. Furthermore, it is speculation to which we've seen evidence to the contrary. 99.60.32.150 19:22, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, but that focus is most likely the only one of its kind, all other recipes that requires items like the mouthpieces (typical components for crafting weapons), need 100 or 250 of those, and they produce the kind of weapon that resembles that typical component. --Landon144 20:00, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
That doesn't change the fact that the entire column in question was speculation and per agreed consensus does not belong in the mainspace. 99.60.32.150 20:44, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
I don't care about the speculation because it doesn't matter whether its including or not. It's just that pointing out the most obvious possibility is pointless.--Relyk 21:02, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
It was actually supposed to make a distinction between Weapons and Infusions, I didn't want that someone uses lots of gold for buying T6 mats and then see it was all wasted because it was an useless infusion. But even now, when all infusion recipes are discovered, it still had use. For example: I'm using spears and I'm still looking for a nice spear skin, I see on the wiki that there still is an undiscovered MF forge recipe for a spear, how awesome would it be, that I am one of the very few to use this spear? My point is, it would encourage those who use that certain weapon to help us discover more recipes, which definitly has use, unless you are willing to spend large amounts of gold on T6 mats and other stuff? --Landon144 21:25, 9 December 2012 (UTC)
You can guess the weapon type by the materials. I'm going to presume the guy who wants to waste 90 Gold coin doesn't need a wiki to tell him that.--Relyk 21:53, 9 December 2012 (UTC)

User images[edit]

Hi there, I just moved the screenshot of your character to File:User Landon144 Riselight.jpg, as images uploaded for "personal use" in userspace should be prefixed with the user who originally uploaded the image. I also changed the links you had made to that image so you don't have to do it. Happy editing. :) Mediggo (talk) 16:35, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

Ok, I didn't know that was mandatory, thanks for telling and correcting it :) --Landon144 (talk) 17:08, 1 August 2013 (UTC)

cow finisher[edit]

Actually, there are both a Permanent version and a Limited-Use version. The limited version is a standard consumable, while the permanent version is an unlock consumable. Same is true for all the other finishers, according to the API. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:53, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Wouldn't it be confusing for new players? I mean, the limited time version is now slowly fading away, it wasn't that popular anyway, and when someone searchs for cow finishers and he or she finds a limited version and a permanent version. And there are a few limited finishers (e.g. the finishers from previous festivals) without a permanent version yet, so we just need to change what happens once you unlock it (instead of lasting one hour, it can be used for 5 finishings). And for the sPvP finishers, I'm not sure if it's possible to craft limited finishers for a symbol higher than yours, but I just used some Rabbit Finishers and nothing happened, because once you have the symbol, the finisher will be unlocked automaticly, so the sPvP limited finishers can be considered junk (unless it's possible to craft finishers for higher symbols than yours).--Landon144 (talk) 13:54, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
The rank finishers are different, I don't know anything about them (only 1 version exists in the API and they don't say Permanent or Limited-Use, just e.g. "Deer Finisher"). I was talking about the Permanent X ones you just created. We should document both versions because they exist. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:57, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
You mean there are limited versions of the Gem Store finishers other than Cow Finisher in the API? --Landon144 (talk) 15:01, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Yep.
Those are all the Limited-Use ones. I had Gift and Snowman finishers in my bank from Wintersday, and they turned into the Limited-Use versions. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:04, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
Yeah, the festival finishers always were limited, but I'm surprised to see limited finishers for Spectre, Thornroot and Whump, they were introduced with QJ and were immediately permanent, a limited version of those finishers were never released (unless I missed something). --Landon144 (talk) 15:16, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
I bet they're going to keep the limited versions as "small" rewards for in-game stuff, and the permanent versions will be Gem Store items. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:19, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

Preview Play Day: 27 September 2013[edit]

There is a Preview Play Day this week, at 9 AM PST on Friday, and we need a representative on fairly short notice (by tomorrow, Wednesday). Also note that we are going to be trying a new approach to documenting the previews- read this for details. If you are available at that time and interested in trying out the new journalistic approach, please go say something over on the talk page ASAP. Thanks! After much deliberation and definitely not drawing names out of a hat, you've been selected as this week's preview representative. Please contact User:Stephane Lo Presti via the "E-mail this user" function in the sidebar, he'll give you all the details and information you'll need. Good luck!
