Dialog templates[edit]

I'm glad I'm not the only who gathered dialog information from the BWE! I made templates for the various icons regarding dialog options which hopefully make it easier to transcribe. So instead of spelling out the file name every time, you can use {{dialogue icon|Ferocity/Charm/Dignity}}, {{Quest Option}}, {{End Option}}, and {{Quest Choice}}. --Thervold 20:22, 2 May 2012 (UTC)

Awesome. Unfortunetly I wasn't recording and was just doing screenshots. And I missed some. Hopefully there will be some videos out there soon to fill in the blanks.Kenrid 20:42, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
I only took screenshots too... almost 1,000 of them. Don't worry about the low-quality icon crops. I didn't even know about hi-res screenshots until after the event ended. It appears that Aspectacle and Aqua are creating tango versions anyway. They already made ones for the personality options, so I assume they will make a few for the other dialog options too. --Thervold 20:56, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
It quickly became apparent I chose my template names poorly. I'm renaming them to {{Talk Quest}}, {{Talk Choice}}, {{Talk More}}, and {{Talk End}}. Although I still need to crop out the "More" option. --Thervold 21:23, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Talk more is not showing. There are a couple I didn't make yet. One has a green arrow pointing right, this might be talk more. Another has a red arrow to the left, I think it might be like a return to previous option.Kenrid 21:28, 2 May 2012 (UTC)
Yep. I hadn't uploaded those yet, but I see you got that forward arrow in. I made {{Talk Back}} for the back arrow, but I haven't cropped the actual image yet. There's also another, {{Talk Combat}} which rarely comes up, but it appears in Infiltration when Della wants to test your strength. --Thervold 06:04, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

(Reset indent) FYI To make it easier for people to follow the convention you guys started, we've created the generic {{dialogue icon}} to replace the individual templates. e.g.

{{dialogue icon|combat}} → Talk combat option tango.png.

Cool, thanks. Kenrid 02:16, 14 May 2012 (UTC)

Re .png conversions[edit]

Which direction are you going and i'll work from the other end back Rudhraighe 22:49, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

I am going from beta screenshots I did. I just have Huntsman to complete. I went through the Leatherworker ones I had already.Kenrid 22:52, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Thank you ! i'm working Through the list alphabetically trying to convert ALL .jpg to .png i appreciate the help Rudhraighe 23:01, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
FYI, just icons go to png :) Kenrid 23:03, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
alla dem der dinky pictures yup gotya ;/ GriN Rudhraighe 23:07, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
I have all inventory icons in png format if you're interested. They're not sensibly named however so it takes a bit of poking around to find what you're looking for. — Rhoot User Rhoot sig.png 23:30, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
I just finished with all the screenshots I had from BWE as far as inventory. I wasn't converting but making new ones. If you got some that need to be replaced, go for it. :) Kenrid 23:36, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
Any and all .jpg icons need to be replaced/converted if you are inclined just go for it ;) better now than after next beta Rudhraighe 23:44, 3 May 2012 (UTC)
I've already spent a day on skill icons, so I'm not really tempted on getting started on item icons. I uploaded some of them, but there's over 2000 more. Instead I figured I'd put them in a public Google Drive folder, so you can just scan through it if you need a particular icon. I'm just waiting for it to finish syncing then I can post the link. — Rhoot User Rhoot sig.png 23:54, 3 May 2012 (UTC)

Dungeon vendors[edit]

Hey - thanks for putting the effort in creating the armour and weapon list for the dungeon vendors, thats nice to see. However - most likely at release we are going to see tweaks to the numbers on the weapons and armour, so I wouldn't recommend you to continue on adding the list of weapons and armour, until af release. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:TheFrageN (talk).

True, but that could apply to most things being put up on the wiki. Having pages created for them will cut down work on the release and adjusting numbers will be easy. Kenrid 08:48, 11 May 2012 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) Even if the numbers are tweaked, balanced or whatever, it's still a good idea to document equipment as soon as possible. When finally at release, we can simply update the numbers and other stats of items. It's also easy for just about anyone to do that, as there's no need to tangle with page formatting. And btw, please remember to sign your comments with four tildes (~) on talk pages. :) Mediggo 08:50, 11 May 2012 (UTC)

Dungeon Vendors[edit]

Out of curiosity, how did you obtain all of these icons? Most of these dungeons weren't available in the beta... Aqua (T|C) 05:30, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

The vendors in Lions Arch were in the beta. So I have been listing them in LA. The ones at the end of the dungeon, I don't know if it is the same NPC or not.Kenrid 05:41, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
The Divinity Councils set makes me want to throttle the lot of them with apostrophes. Must recharge my Mantra of Beta State. Thanks for getting them up there! Redshift 13:09, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
I know what you mean, I kept having to go back because I kept putting in the apostrophes. lol Kenrid 23:30, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Is it really called "Orrian Reward" for all those armor pieces? Seems... an odd name. Probably placeholder? Konig/talk 06:17, 13 May 2012 (UTC)
Yes, the medium armor is called 'Reward', I agree, may be a place holder. I am also a little leary of Estate **, for the light. The vendor also was missing the light shoulder armor. Kenrid 03:31, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
I have also found that 3 of the vendors, their weapons have the wrong Sigil on them. (I reported as bug during stress test) But as most of them sell a Sigil and the weapons have a version of said Sigil, the 3 odd balls have Sigils from the other vendors and not the one that they sell. Not fitting the theme of the dungeon. I have been holding off on making those pages because of that. Kenrid 03:31, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Reverts[edit]

Per the Uzolan thing on Divinity's Reach, it's generally frowned upon for constantly reverting - especially while something is in discussion. There's no guideline on it here, as far as I know, as there is on GWW but that doesn't mean it should be done, so I request you refrain from constant reverts on a discussed topic. Konig/talk 01:34, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

OK Konig, but I didn't do 1st revert. and please sign. Kenrid 00:50, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
1 revert of each is fine, you reverted me twice in a short time (3 total, I believe). Konig/talk 01:34, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Let's stop pointing fingers, please. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:28, 19 May 2012 (UTC)
Wasn't intending to point fingers, I was merely stating what is a preferred thing as to avoid annoyances, and when Kenrid pointed out I reverted, I elaborated - perhaps poorly, albeit. Konig/talk 05:54, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

Images[edit]

You've uploaded a number of screenshots. All of these should technically be in your userspace - e.g., File:Rytlock's chair.jpg should be renamed to [[:File:User Kenrid Rytlock's chair.jpg]] and have {{user image|Kenrid}} on the file page. Unless they're intended to go on mainspace articles, that is. Konig/talk 09:26, 19 May 2012 (UTC)

NPC infobox locations[edit]

We've simplified things so that all you have to do is provide the area name in the infobox - the zone name is looked up automatically. I fixed the pages you created earlier today, so you can see what I mean. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:08, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. Got a question. NPC that has multiple locations. Leave blank in info box as unspecified? Kenrid (talk) 06:21, 26 May 2013 (UTC)
Nope, just give a comma-separated list like Attendant of Sorrows. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 14:24, 26 May 2013 (UTC)

Every Piece Matters[edit]

The two of us that did the bulk of the dialogue thought to omit the names in conversations ie Morraloo, Kasparak etc. If you change it for Morraloo, to be consistent, you need to change it throughout the wiki-page. Up to you of course but it would seem easier to leave it as it was. Thanks for catching my errors. I have a block with quaggan, always try to spell it guaggan. --Claret (talk) 00:59, 21 June 2013 (UTC)

I was following a dialogue format that has been established in storyline pages. Don't you think that all dialogue should be consistent throughout the wiki? Kenrid (talk) 01:12, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Probably, if I can argue in page consistency then you can argue in wiki. I'll edit the rest then as I am not too busy. :) --Claret (talk) 01:26, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
I'll change ones as I come to them, I am still going through fraps files and did different conversation option so will be able to add to them. Kenrid (talk) 01:49, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
Mostly done. Please check as you add, thanks. --Claret (talk) 01:52, 21 June 2013 (UTC)
