(poi) vs (point of interest)[edit]

I think we'll use "(point of interest)", generally avoid putting abbreviations in when it can be avoided. For the record, I checked over all the other points of interest and couldn't find any that had to have a suffix on the pagename to avoid conflicts, but I think the current option is good. Closest thing I found was [[:Category:Hero challenge objects]], where pages are chaotically named "_(object)", "_(skill challenge)" and "_(hero challenge)". -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 23:12, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

I made some "point of interest" pages, however i personally think the "poi" pages actually look nicer. But I'll let a moderator sort out which one to keep, thank for clearing that up for me :D deltaalphanova (talk) 03:31, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
We don't have moderators, the wiki prefers users resolve the issue themselves. Hence discussing it on your talk page instead of simply changing it. Using "poi" for disambiguation is a fun topic.
The wiki avoids abbreviations and uses lowercase for disambiguation for consistency. The main issue with "poi" is that not everyone will know what the acronym is and it can be spelled "poi" or "PoI". A lot of articles did this at the start. We phased out using "poi" for disambiguation over time.--Relyk ~ talk < 04:17, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
