Help

Thank you for the welcome! I hope I can help to expand the GW2W as the game information comes flowing in! I am relatively new to the wiki scene and would appreciate any help you can throw :)PS i am sorry if i put this in the wrong place Mr.flamer 13:12, 5 January 2011 (UTC)

this is the right place to put that comment IMO The Holy Dragons --95.97.106.134 10:37, 5 January 2011 (UTC)
As THD said, this is the right place. And feel free to ask if you have any questions. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 00:34, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I would also like to thank you for the welcome to the wiki. I'm new to being a wiki user as well, but I'm very happy to learn (both by myself and with a little help) how to better contribute to the wiki. I'll spend a while obsessively figuring out to do complicated things and then when I know most of the skills and requirements for the structure of an article I'll do my best to help out. Lordfordy 01:20, 7 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm also new to editing and fixing wiki articles, and would like to say thanks for your warm welcome. User:Shadow124 7:11, January 11, 2011

Armor introduction formatting

Using that set-up (as on Heritage armors) will have you alternating between "is" and "are". I changed my own formatting on the Magus articles to create a consistent way of introducing the armor pieces. :) - Infinite - talk 20:00, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

And you have been the first to use Aqua's automated human-bot prevention. ;) What specifically are you referencing with "my own formatting"? Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 20:02, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
I changed the way I introduced them before and rewrote them for better consistency. - Infinite - talk 20:04, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Just to clarify: Item Name is/are <item condition, i.e. masterwork> <light/medium/heavy> equipment from <set X>. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 20:11, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
IMO, I dislike putting equipment in there, it seems just kind of obvious that armor is equipment, your thoughts? Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 20:12, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) You should never have to use are. Even if the Armor piece's name is plural, I suggest using "is" over changing the rest of the sentence. And it is grammatically correct, given Item Name functions as a singular "equipment". - Infinite - talk 20:17, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Seems obvious, but we don't know if all items with armor-like names are equippable. - Infinite - talk 20:17, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Scratch the ec, is/are is fine, it's the armor slot you didn't mention. Item Name is/are <item condition, i.e. masterwork> <light/medium/heavy> <slot> equipment from <set X>. - Infinite - talk 20:20, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
For instance: "Magus Garment is Masterwork light chest equipment from the Magus Set." - Infinite - talk 20:23, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Instead of foot equipment, why not just say footwear (which implies that it is wearable). And if it isn't equipable (yet has an equipment name), we can just say that its not and not give it the armor infobox. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 20:26, 12 January 2011 (UTC)

That works too, I guess. But if you're running bot operations, could you have it roll and alter the Magus and Chainmail articles for me then? I'm creating a page to standardize all armor and weapon formatting for future botting reference. :) - Infinite - talk 20:29, 12 January 2011 (UTC)
Evidently my joke didn't possess enough characteristics of a joke. Pretty much, what I meant is that while I'm doing bottish stuff, I am still the one sitting at the computer manually doing everything (no actual bots are featured). I do however, follow the "cease all" code that most actual bots have when I am doing bottish edits. tl;dr: I'm not a bot, I just act like one sometimes. Care to specify? If ur referring to my "i hate the word fag", then it should be clear that I am being friendly and not malicious. But please, feel free to clarify. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 04:44, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
You say the F word several times lol --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 61.68.20.81 (talk).
May I appoint you that it's not illegal to use the F word. Also, it's on *my* user page. If anyone, you should be directing this at me. - Infinite - talk 11:58, 19 January 2011 (UTC)
Part A: So saying someone sickens you is an appropriate response to cursing in humor? Part B: As Infinite said, it was based off of his notes on his main user page; I found it funny and decided to say so. Part C: You go from being "sickened" by me to saying "you said the f word several times lol" does not seem to reflect that you meant what you said at all. So please, create drama less plzkthnx. I just want to say

"Hate to come across as annoyed, but you're flooding recent changes for something we have literally no ability to check at this time. When the game comes out, I'm sure it will become immediately apparent the answer to this question."
That was immensely hilarious to me. Course the comment has more irony is how unnecessary that comment was. :) (And before you pull the "my edits were doing something constructive" I'll just like to use the "Show preview button exists for a reason" retort ahead of time. -- Konig/talk 04:25, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Let me do a breakdown of my edits since "0:00:00 UTC today:"
 • 37 Image uploads - They were uploaded when I found them. There is no "show preview" button for Demo videos; I uploaded them as I encountered them. I hit upon an Arenanet demo video about halfway through. The images were so much clearer and higher quality, would you have preferred I let them sit while I was literally the only one working on the wiki at the time?
 • 1 Skill - Fixing a broken link I encountered. No show preview
 • 4 Item Page Creations - Creating items I saw on my quest for Bio icons. (total of 5 edits, 4 page creations, one minor change) No show preview
 • 2 Item Page edits - Adding stats to things I saw in game. (Two edits) No show preview
 • 16 Changes to Biography - Updating as I found info. I never know when I might hit a massive cache of icons (or a cache of better icons than the ones that are up.) Hence, no show preview. The first few edits, I edited one one way, and then realized it looked bad so I edited it again. I realized that I had deleted some info, so I changed it yet again, and then kept it that way for the rest of the time. No show preview as explained.
 • 14 Edits to Trait Pages - I will admit, I screwed up on my first edit to Armor (trait), but I had confirmed all of their statuses and updated their pages to reflect it. No show preview.
 • Template:Centurion armor nav and Centurion Set - As per Magus Set, I made as much as I could get about the Centurion set. After watching the video, I couldn't get the shoulder or chest pieces, so I renamed them to show that. I can't see the future; I can't show preview the demo video. I changed as was necessary.
 • User:Aquadrizzt/Sandbox/Image - I keep a listing of all the bio icons I have found, so that I can pull it up to compare for quality should the need arise. No show preview
 • Talk:Guardian - The reason you are bringing this up. I noticed that there has been an excessive amount of speculation. I have no problem with speculation when it is in the user name space. However, quite honestly, no one knows whether or not you can "downgrade" your armor (i.e. Warrior can use Heavy, Med, Light, Ranger can use Med, Light, etc.). I will remind you that main space talk pages are to discuss edits to the article in question, not to speculate about other classes' ability to wear armor of different levels.
You're probably wondering: "why didn't he wait to update the bio page at once?" As I said, I updated it upon the completion of videos.
Note that literally none of this (With the exception of Armor (trait)) could have used a "Show Preview" button.
Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 05:00, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
I feel anger come your text. *acts all mystically* Though I don't see how there couldn't be a use of the show preview button for the 16 and 14 edits to the singular page (I never even brought up anything but the bio page, btw, so you're going far out of your way to provide "support" where none is needed). This is all moot, btw, since I wasn't complaining. I was merely finding the comment hilarious for the flood of RC not being due to the discussion, which took place over days, and not minutes (which is what an RC flood would require). -- Konig/talk 12:32, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
There is not anger; there is the response to perceived hostility from "(And before you pull the "my edits were doing something constructive"...)". If that wasn't meant to be hostile, then I apologize. (Sometimes Konig, and don't take this the wrong way, your words read in a very hostile tone, whether intended or not.) Anyway, cheers...of to go stalk Demo videos again. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 21:00, 26 January 2011 (UTC)

Yes, but we have no idea what Fine or masterwork even mean, other than that they can be used to describe weapons. Aquadrizzt (talk)(contribs) 01:49, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
True... I guess its just one of those things to add once the game comes out. It might have something to do with character armor crafting (I think GW2 has that now). - Lucian Talk. Shadowborn 1:51, 27 January 2011 (UTC)

Tis okay. In my earlier wiki days I would wait until a discussion had died by a month and implement it then (if it hadn't been implemented prior). Copied verbatim

This edit - If you care about something being copied verbatim I suggest you put some sort of "don't modify this" template around it. This is a wiki, if people think the text can be improved they should be allowed to do so without being told off for rules no-one here has particularly agreed to. I'm pretty tempted to revert because there is no harm in the improvement but would rather have the discussion first. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 00:40, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

It was a combination of a) verbatim and b) we don't know if it is "in the area" or "in range" or whatever. While logically yes, it has some limited size, we don't know what it is at the time. Or maybe it has an effect for all allies doing x, or maybe it has an effect for all allies working on event y. We really don't know. Aqua (talk|contribs) 00:51, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
If you'd said something about the uncertainty of its meaning then I would have been fine with it. :) The suggestion we had to keep in line with official web bugged me a bit. -- aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 00:59, 28 January 2011 (UTC)
I apologize for the lack of clarity. Anyway, (I hope) no harm done. :) Aqua (talk|contribs) 01:01, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

I would love to help, however, I have no idea what you want me to fix. Aqua (talk|contribs) 03:33, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Loosing tracks of tracking time.

It may not be poor memory or a hacked account. It's probably just a case of hitting edit/submit too many times causing a weird situation of conflicting yourself without realizing. -- Konig/talk 22:33, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Quite possible. I'm pretty sure that if I were hacked, the hacker would do more than remove a tag. Might have been an oversight with a double self edit conflict... Aqua (T|C) 22:39, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

No trait icons

Forgive me for being late at the party but was it decided somewhere that there would be no icons in the new "list of traits" tables? And if yes, what was the reason for that? Chriskang 22:51, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

I'm still trying to figure out how to implement them. I tried "trait icon" in the "Trait Name" column, but long story short, it was less that pretty. Maybe make a final column to the right, but I'm still not sure if that would look good. Aqua (T|C) 23:13, 29 January 2011 (UTC)

Cat sorting - Category:Help

Not sure if you've noticed, but all Guild Wars 2 Wiki-space pages are being sorted under G and help pages under H. You need to include a sortkey to make sure the articles are sorted under their proper title - should do it. pling User Pling sig.png 14:46, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

I knew I was missing something... Thanks Pling :) Aqua (T|C) 23:49, 31 January 2011 (UTC)
Don't flame me on this one, but I personally think all sorting them under * would be the neatest and most oversightly manner in which to sort that category. :P - Infinite - talk 14:51, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Don't flame me bro, but I believe Infi is correct. EiveTalk 22:34, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Why would that be better than alphabetically sorting them? pling User Pling sig.png 23:09, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
What Pling said. Aqua (T|C) 23:14, 1 February 2011 (UTC)
Because we don't have a list of all help articles, which would be redundant if we make the cat a list. - Infinite - talk 15:04, 2 February 2011 (UTC)
So make a list of help articles and keep the cat a cat? I imagine that would be better for new users.. Isn't there already a nav, anyway? pling User Pling sig.png 16:08, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Not afaik. DPL should list a category alphabetically? In which case we can use that and still properly sort the actual category, right? - Infinite - talk 17:06, 3 February 2011 (UTC)
Yeah. By the way, there's Template:Help navbar header. pling User Pling sig.png 17:08, 3 February 2011 (UTC)

I think only the personal story ones will. - Lucian User Lucian.png 0:33, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

(Grumbles about the amount of school work he has...) Give me like a day or two, the way the suggested infobox would work, I would suggest making two individual infoboxes (one for personal stories, or for normal quests). You could do as Neil does and have the signature in a remote location. As long as the signature does not become obnoxiously long in general editting, it should be fine. - Infinite - talk 18:10, 15 February 2011 (UTC)

Traits

Aqua, I'm torn about the headers you added to the trait lists on skill pages. I like the idea, but I'm not sure whether there will be traits modifying a skill in any line other than the weapon the skill is on. For example, I doubt Mark of Blood will be modified by any traits outside of Off-Hand dagger traits. That being said, if we're going to list all traits that modify a skill (like Blood Rituals ones that increase mark durations, etc.), I wholeheartedly agree. ~Ekko (talk) 00:01, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

That was the thought process behind it, though instead of the ===<TRAIT LINE>=== I think we should just list is as:
TRAITS
*Trait Name does x. (Trait Line).
What are your thoughts? Aqua (T|C) 01:10, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
That last one also lets us mention whether it's major or minor - I think that's the best way. ~Ekko (talk) 02:38, 25 February 2011 (UTC)

Profession Icons before Traits

Your recent addition to Critical hit brings up a good question: at what point should the Any tango icon 20px.png icon be used? I left it alone until I could come up with a solid idea, but I was thinking that Any tango icon 20px.png should be used for any trait that is not exclusive to a single class, as opposed to a trait that is available to every class (which I don't think any are, actually). Your edit used Any tango icon 20px.png for Major Precision and Minor Precision, both of which are available to four professions. So were you thinking that any more than two classes would use Any tango icon 20px.png, or any more than three? It may even be a good idea to make another icon, perhaps like the current Any tango icon 20px.png icon but diamond-shaped or something. What do you think? —Proton 17:04, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

I think Any tango icon 20px.png should only be used if the trait/skill/whatev is available to all professions. I too am wondering if there would be an easier way to identify a skill/trait to multiple professions without having to list them all (it seems excessive to have to list 4+ profession tangos). --Moto Saxon 17:33, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
User Saxon multitango.jpgThis is a pretty crude tango, but just wanted to toss an idea/example in. I think Proton also just uploaded a more sleek one then mine. --Moto Saxon 19:11, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
It seems that many people are taking kindly to my just-created Some tango icon 20px.png icon :). Feel free to use it liberally until someone tells me that I'm a bad person for not asking the consensus of the rest of the wiki community. —Proton 19:29, 21 March 2011 (UTC)
@Initial post: The reason I gave Major/Minor Precision any is because we have no proof (or more accurately, no disproof) that all professions can use all of the major/minor attribute traits. We do, however, have evidence to suggest that superior traits are somewhat limited in their availability. I didn't like how it ended up, but it beats using the horribly inaccurate any tango. @The rest of the posts: I like the idea of a diamond tango. Aqua (T|C) 21:07, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

April Fool's Day

In the possibility that April Fool's Day fails to work out with a new krytan translation, Infi and I have thought of a secondary idea.
ANet proudly presents the "Shadowmancer" the 3rd scholar, and it's not the mesmer. A brief description is that it takes every horribly overpowered skill in Guild Wars and gives it to one profession in GW2.( i.e. It's elite is SF.)
In addition, there is no need to do anything but darken an unrevealed profession reveal image (I have my old halloween ones somewhere...) and make the page.

User_talk:Poke#Botting

I guessed, my comment was as much of a nudge, if anything. People, given a proper task to do, sufficient trust, etc., can possibly get a bot flag handed down. But to your main account..? GL.

Pretty much no task warrants someone having hidden edits for ~infinity. Generally it's expected bot accounts will be used, and given appropriate names, so that people can easily track such edits to ensure the privilege is not abused. I'm not saying I think you'd do such a thing, just that we need a standard set for everyone.

Someone getting a bot flag, having it removed, getting it again, having it removed... seems messy. An additional account seems cleaner and easier for lurkers to moniter. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.jpg A F K When Needed 19:55, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

The idea was based on the time that Pling changed his settings before he made a bunch of edits. I figured I would bring the possibility up. They think it's a bad idea? I'm fine with the outcome. Also, the edits aren't completely hidden from RC; the default settings just have bot edits hidden. And (AFAIK) my edits would still be observable by others. But again: whatever, I'll just do it w/out the bot flag. Aqua (T|C) 20:02, 27 April 2011 (UTC)

It may be unimportant, but, Shaitan refers to both Satan from the bible and demons who did the similar things as he did. I doubt you can say equivalent. Satan is the european name for shaitan(not the other way around) but it can also mean a type of demon. It'd be better if it just said that its possible for Zhaitan to be a referance to Shaitan, if people want to know more, they can read themselves to not get any misconceptions. --AdventurerPotatoe User AdventurerPotatoe Engineer tango icon 200px.png - 23:11, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

As per IRC

"{Aqua} - but any skill in GW2 will have atleast one of hte following: energy, adrenaline, recharge, activation, life force, initiative, correct?"

All professions (so far) use energy and skills with recharge. Activation time has never been indicated in the game as of yet.
Guardians have no additional variables to be taken into account.
Warriors have adrenaline but as far as I am aware only Burst skills actually use them as a variable. Burst skills activate at any stage of adrenaline (afaik) and have effects based on the adrenaline charged. Therefore, adrenaline is not a cost (unlike initiative, for instance) and would not appear as a cost variable. I may be wrong as I have no up-to-date warrior footage to double-check this claim.
Engineers have no additional variables to be taken into account (afaik).
Rangers have no additional variables to be taken into account.
Thieves have initiative, which is a cost variable.
Elementalists are being reworked fully but have no additional variables to be taken into account currently.
Necromancers have Life Force which is used solely to determine the duration of Death Shroud. It would not appear as a cost variable.
So to answer the question, no; any skill in GW2 will have atleast one of following: Energy, Recharge, Initiative. Activation time would need to be measured.
I may be overlooking something, but I will assume for a second that the above is correct. - Infinite - talk 16:14, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
Also, Life Blast deals extra damage depending on the amount of Life Force available, but does not use it in order to activate. - Infinite - talk 16:17, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
At the very least we do know that some skills are channeled and others are not; that is an activation variable. Felix Omni Signature.png 16:19, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
K. My concern was that if there are no variables for some skills, then the skill infobox looks space-y for those. Aqua (T|C) 16:24, 18 June 2011 (UTC)
I figured as much and the answer is to wait for activation time variables (or approximating them). I doubt there is any skill with instant activation times and no costs or recharge whatsoever. - Infinite - talk 16:35, 18 June 2011 (UTC)

I need an opinion

Aqua, I would like your opinion about something. When making my skill table template, someone complained in my talk page that the design of the table was too similar to the GW1W skill table design, and not similar enough to the skill table design currently being used here. I have thus made some changes to my template, so it's a bit more similar to the current design, but I'm not sure if it looks any good; I'm afraid all the different colors are giving it a weird appearance. Could you please take a look and tell me what you think? Erasculio 03:06, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

I will start by saying that it's quite good (and I absolutely love the color switching per weapon.) My thing about the "this is used on GWW" argument is that it should not be provided as the sole reason for something, as in "This is the way it is on GWW, so it should be that way here." At the same time, I don't really like the "this <whatever> is too much like GWW's way of doing it." (I guess they're two extremes of the spectrum, and I like neither.)
I think that having a more artistic/painterly skill table would be really cool; expect me to steal your code (again) in the near future.
To directly answer your question, yes it's good, but I think we should see what other alternatives we have (or could potentially have) before I judging this one. (Though, truth be told, the skill listing format that we've developed that is currently in use is more of a placeholder (to me atleast) than a way I wish to see it be.) Aqua (T|C) 03:45, 14 July 2011 (UTC)
Thanks : ) I agree, as much fun as I'm having working on those tables, I think it's too soon to implement one - we don't even know for sure which parameters the skills will have or which parameters we will want to display on the skill lists. My concern was actually that the color switching per weapon would be looking worse than the simpler design; if you like it, it's a sign that it's good and so I can keep it there. Erasculio 11:25, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Thanks guys. It's good to be back, yet at the same time I still miss the place I was and the people I was with horribly. Aqua (T|C) 22:34, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

Demo Chances?

What about it? Don't see anything in the list quite connected to that. I'll be attending Gamescom 2011 this year, so if you'd like me to ask something, I'll see what I can do. Tomoko 12:30, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

It was something I had almost written out but then decided it was pointless. If people are interested, I can write it out again. Aqua (T|C) 15:14, 12 August 2011 (UTC)
Well it's up to you, I'm there anyway. Tomoko 07:46, 16 August 2011 (UTC)
And I just got home. Again. So yeah. I'll write up a list in the morning, or something... Aqua (T|C) 02:41, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Saw you on the help page, having a bit of trouble.

Hey, first thanks in advance if you can help me.

I'm trying to set the icon image for Fiery Greatsword, the Elementalist skill. I've uploaded the image and redirected it to that page, but I'm not sure what else to do to get it to link. If you could help that'd be awesome! :-) The preceding unsigned comment was added by Reign (talkcontribs).

Hey, so it was a basic syntax error. We use jpg format for skill icons, and as such, the infobox is programmed to (by default) just use "<skill name>.jpg" as the icon. Due to the name you gave it, it was unable to recognize it and didn't use it. I'm guessing the issue is mostly resolved, as there is now a skill image there. However, if you wanted to (for some reason) use the file you uploaded, you could add icon=Fierygreatsword.png to the infobox. (I apologize if the response is an incoherent mess.)Aqua (T|C) 21:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

16!

A year ago today, I was dealing simultaneously with KH and A&S, discussing adminship with Shew and designing trait navs. Anyways, birthday fun is fun and birthday. Aqua (T|C) 13:48, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

Omnomnom Happy Birthday!-- Shew 13:58, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Look at the massive amount of progress you made in a single year! You can see it across about (if not more) half the wiki! Have an amazing birthday, Aqua. <3 :D - Infinite - talk 14:24, 23 August 2011 (UTC)
Holy crap!! It's your birthday. This I was unaware of. You, good sir, deserve a day off of wiki-ing. Have an amazing day, even more so than Infinite said. More so because I'm saying it now, it's like 2.3x better (1 for Infinite and 1.3 for me, that's right I went there). Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 14:44, 23 August 2011 (UTC)

How can I create a wiki Category so that I can add members via Userbox?

I have left this message on the Category:Index talk page, but I am not sure if that is the right place to get an answer, and I know you are one of our wiki gurus *puppy eyes*. Well, like in the title. How can I create a "IncGamers/GWO" Category and add members of that community site/forum via a "Userbox Template:User IncGamers/GWO" to that group? Perhaps the Helper team or GWO members like Erasulio or Konig could help out here too? --Gorani 12:57, 22 September 2011 (UTC)

Take a look at any typical userbox, for instance the warrior userbox. Note how the category is added with the userbox, but *only* on the page where the template is called. The includeonly tags are used to include the content on the destination page, but not the userbox page itself (this is why the userbox doesn't categorize itself as a "User who is warrior," but only categorizes the pages where the template is called). Using includeonly tags around the category you want the userbox to add will allow you to automatically categorize users into any category you'd like. In example, your userbox would have the line;
<includeonly></includeonly>
I hope that is sufficient information. - Infinite - talk 13:10, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
I did my very best on modifying the Warrior Userbox to my cause

and added a line to the somehow auto-created Category page. If there is something wrong with what I did, please tell me (& how to fix it), because as far as I am concerned it looks like it is running OK. --Gorani 15:05, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
Infinite handled it; I personally don't think that userboxes should have categories (or beyond a few very basic ones); it's a personal opinion, just me rambling. Aqua (T|C) 20:04, 22 September 2011 (UTC)
If only you'd help me on that category tree, then maybe we could actually realize certain things. :P - Infinite - talk 00:15, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
If only I wasn't insanely busy being a junior in high school... :P Aqua (T|C) 03:19, 23 September 2011 (UTC)
Yeah yeah, excuses aplenty. <3 - Infinite - talk 03:53, 23 September 2011 (UTC)

what to do?

Yo, when talking to new users, instead of "it shouldn't be in the template space" or similar, could you maybe speak English? I've been editing wikis for years and can immediately tell what you mean, but they might not. Perhaps they think templates have to start with Template:Name to work as a Template. Which, for a new user, is an understandable guess.

So stuff like "hey, could you move Template:Name to User:Name template?" or even "hey, I've moved A to B", could be a lot more helpful than basically saying "doin it wrong" without giving them advice on how to fix the issue.

tl;dr: While I know you're trying to help, I think you sometimes approach new users with an unrealistic expectation of their capabilities. Being redundant is better than being unhelpful. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 04:00, 18 October 2011 (UTC)

Noted; I shall try to be clearer with the newcomers and be more realistic about their knowledge in the future. Aqua (T|C) 03:11, 19 October 2011 (UTC)

URGENT Kuulpb profession Idea

Aqua, Where is my Profession Idea? it is not on the suggestions site and I SPENT AGES ON IT! It was imporatant to me and If it is gone I want some sort of compensation please, I didn't get to save it as i tried to and the " GW2 suggestion" bit came up WHERE IS IT!!!!!The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kuulpb (talkcontribs).

It is still located on your talk page. -- Cyan User Cyan Light sig.jpg 16:38, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
There was an edit conflict, apparently. Unless you copy pasted it from the bottom to the top then you need to rewrite it. Sorry about that, but I feel that the edit conflict message should have made what happened clear. (And no, I'm not going to offer compensation. That's absurd.) Aqua (T|C) 16:41, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Until Aqua can retrieve passed time, compensation does not even exist. - Infinite - talk 16:46, 19 November 2011 (UTC)
Also, you have still more information about your profession on your userpage at GGW. Copy + paste can solve the problem =) -- Cyan User Cyan Light sig.jpg 16:48, 19 November 2011 (UTC)

Please can you message mw these liscencing? I wanted to let Arena net use it for maybe a New Expansion. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Kuulpb (talkcontribs).
