Your profile picture[edit]

Because the picture have on your profile contains things like the Hulk and Unikitty, which are copyrighted content, the image you uploaded will have to be deleted as we can't have copyrighted content here that doesn't belong to ArenaNet. I'm giving you a heads up so if you know what's going on in order to find a non-copyrighted image to use for your page. - Doodleplex 17:35, 9 October 2017 (UTC)

I have screenshots i uploaded today, no idea as to why they are huge, compared to screenshots i uploaded last time. Tried to use the 800px size, but it wouldn't link the picture. File:Lost Lore of the Domain of Vabbi 5.jpg tried it with just the [1] the link works but was trying to include pic on page. IS only other option to scale down original image? because i didn't have to with "Forgotten Debris" screen shots.

Screenshots[edit]

Hey, thanks for adding a screenshot to Intelligence Report: Palawa Joko I Page 05. It's really big, though. In future, please resize it so it doesn't take up the entire page. You don't need to resize the image itself, just specify a size when you add it to the page. There's a few ways to accomplish this:

<gallery>filepath.jpg</gallery>

By the way, here are some tips that can improve your screenshots in future:

 • Zoom in to first person so you can get a nice close-up of the object.
 • Hide the UI by pressing Ctrl+Shift+H.
 • Hiding the UI will remove the minimap, so if including the map was an important feature, take a second screenshot of the world map. You can hide the white dot trail left by your character (if it's unneeded) by logging out and back in.
 • Crop your screenshot to remove and unnecessary detail and keep the filesize down.

Thanks again for your hard work in improving the collections walkthroughs! :) --Idris (talk) 20:09, 12 October 2017 (UTC)

Categorizing[edit]

How do you code things to get it listed under the proper category. I'm sure by time you get his it's already happened, but i'm curious. I created the page "Ghostly Dining Table" but how does one link it to the "Decorations>Festivals" page here: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Decoration/Festivals Does it just take time and anet bots do it automatically?

Usually this is handled automatically behind the scenes by writing it with the proper templates (the stuff in braces with all the variables being listed and filled). If you need to get something included in a particular category and the template doesn't fix it for you, you'd use something like SarielV 20 x 20px 19:10, 17 October 2017 (UTC)
Looking at the page you named, I see the items you are talking about listed there. It can take a while for new items to trickle in. You can speed it up by using the "refresh" link that's on every page. Sometimes it will take a null edit (meaning click on "edit", then save the page without making any changes). User images[edit]

I'm not sure why you undid this edit, but to answer your question, yes, all images that you upload for your own user page must be named "User Angry User <image name>.jpg". --Idris (talk) 00:43, 20 October 2017 (UTC)

because i was just repeating myself since i already clearly knew the answer. but now i know i cant delete anything and everything i write here will be seen :O :) :D
It's preferred that you don't erase messages on talk pages. A better alternative is to add strikethrough tags around the comment to strike it out, <s>like this</s> → like this. :) --Idris (talk) 00:59, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
If you'd like more image formatting help: Check Guild Wars 2 Wiki:Image formatting for image formatting. Here specifically for user images. Category:Formatting guidelines for all the formatting guides available. Image formatting gets kind of funky. I think most image tweaks can be covered in the following line:

Which displays like the following:
Priestess of Kormir.jpg
File is the file link. Thumb makes it a thumbnail with that little box, px is pixel/size, "link=" changes what it links to (instead of say, the file's page). If you leave the link one blank, it stops being a linked image completely. (A trick I learned just last week). And right/left/center changes alignment. It doesn't have to be in that order, as long as the filename goes first. It can also be as simple as

Hope this helps! --Rain Spell (talk) 04:12, 20 October 2017 (UTC)
