The six Gods of Tyria, also known as the True Gods, the Old Gods and the Six are deities worshipped by the humans of Tyria, Cantha and Elona. They are:

  • Balthazar, god of war and fire.
  • Dwayna, goddess of life and air.
  • Melandru, goddess of nature and earth.
  • Grenth, god of death and ice.
  • Lyssa, twin goddesses of beauty and illusion (often referred to as one entity).
  • Kormir, goddess of truth.

Previous gods include Abaddon, god of secrets and water, and Dhuum, who is Grenth's predecessor. Lore also mentions two unnamed gods that Abaddon deposed, and Abaddon's predecessor, who, in a source of disputed canonicity, is referred to as a spider deity named Arachnia. Several demigods are also known, including Menzies, Balthazar's half-brother, and Abaddon's children who (supposedly - canonicity is unconfirmed) were murdered by the god of secrets after they attempted to dethrone him.

The earliest deity who is still recognised as a god is Dwayna, whose scriptures were written in 115 BE. All others save from Kormir were written in 48 BE. Kormir's was written in 1075 AE. There is considerable mystery surrounding the exact powers and nature of the gods, which is muddled still by the fact that they have been mostly absent in Tyrian affairs for roughly 250 years.
