The Sword Regrown is the final instance that is part of the side story Knight of the Thorn to heal Caladbolg.

Walkthrough

After entering the instance you can talk to Ridhais for some background information.

When you interact with Caladbolg, you experience a vision of the sword wielded by the player character. You engage a fight with this Remnant of a Hero. After defeating her/him you see five different visions of Caladbolg, each representing a different type of weapon it can be regrown into. Interact with your weapon of choice to create a new Caladbolg.

After you choose your weapon the vision will end and you can talk to Ridhais for some final thoughts or just leave the instance.

Vigil Warmaster: Welcome to the Artesian Waters, Commander. We heard you were coming and solidified the perimeter.

It's been a while since I visited--how are things faring here in Orr?

With Zhaitan dead, we've made good progress clearing the rest of his army. It's still a waterlogged wreck though. I wouldn't invest in property here anytime soon if I were you, sir.

Excellent work. I should be done here soon.

Ridhais: This is the last step; Caladbolg awaits. I've placed the blade at the heart of the waters that it once purified—you have only to take up your sword.

I'm ready.

Upon engaging the Remnant of a Hero:

The hero sought to save the world.

"If I keep trying, I'll be able to win," the hero thought.

But the harder the hero fought, the further the world seemed to tumble away.

Drowning in doubt, the hero could not even save themselves.

Upon defeating the Remnant of a Hero:

Hero, if you still believe in a brighter future, hold in your heart a thorn that can pierce all doubt.

Vision of a Dagger: You see Caladbolg as an agile dagger.

Concentrate on Caladbolg as a dagger.

There's no turning back after this. The weapon in your heart is the dagger, Caladbolg Solana.

Vision of a Greatsword You see Caladbolg as a mighty greatsword.

Concentrate on Caladbolg as a greatsword.

Vision of a Scepter: You see Caladbolg as a mystic scepter.

I'm not certain. There's still a lot to think about, now that my quest is finished. I might still drop by to check on Caladbolg every now and then, though.
