Talk:Thumper Turret

"Thumper," may be a reference to an object used in the "Dune" series to summon wurms by creating vibrations. Similarly to how wurms were and are a reference taken from that series. I'm just speculating though. --Titania La Fey 19:54, 25 September 2011 (UTC)

"Thumping" is also an English verb. Taking that into account, and that this turret's overcharged effect is a shockwave, and the skill icon which seems like a press or crusher (like in gw1:Jokanur Diggings), it probably simply causes damaging shockwaves by slamming the ground. There are probably no wurms involved either, which admittedly is unfortunate. Mediggo 07:26, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
I think it spawns a horde of hammer using rangers with their pets. --you like that don't you..The Holy Dragons 08:07, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
perhaps a more "real-world" item Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 15:56, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Or we can just say there are a lot of different things called Thumpers. -User Eive Windgrace Harbinger of the Deceiver.png 16:14, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Or more likely: http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Thumper_(Bambi) "Personality: Unlike Bambi, Thumper can be rather mischievous but ultimately means well. He often gives his close friends advice on a handful of topics but they usual get them into trouble. As an adult he hasn't changed much and continues to speak rather loud and thumps his left or right foot." Puk (talk) 09:02, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Note is incorrect[edit]

The active skill after the turret is deployed doesn't knock back/down enemies, it launches them.--Rapid Sausage 17:40, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

I notice it tanking NPC[edit]

This skill seem to tank NPC when I spawn it. What PvP role could it have other than the active?--Knighthonor 06:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

It might have some use in confined spaces or any capture point. It's supposed to have very high health compared to other turrets, right? Also, the sequence and tool belt skill are both blast finishers, and that could be used with some of the engineer's combo fields. Mediggo 09:49, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
