LHC Effect[edit]

If a Juvenile Wolf uses Terrifying Howl with this trait equipped, do all foes in the area run back and forth, or does the game implode on itself? User FelixCarter Sig.png FelixCarter 01:27, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

I think that control effects have bigger priority than conditions and thus foe will be taunted not feared, just like stun gets over fear. Didn't test it though...46.170.100.114 11:03, 8 July 2015 (UTC)

I would wager the opposite actually..... The taunt would have no effect, since the player would be fleeing. ...but alas.... the taunt is applied when the skill is activated and the fear is applied after the wolf channels the skill.... so the two are applied one after another and it cannot be tested on ranger using this example. 98.193.124.175 16:38, 14 July 2015 (UTC)

The Taunt applies immediately on pressing F2, so because the wolf fear has a channel, you get both. Assuming the target is in Range, they will be Taunted for 1.5s, then Feared for 2s. 147.66.7.6 15:59, 28 August 2015 (UTC)

Wording: Taunt does not interrupt NPCs[edit]

I'm not sure I understand the wording for the bug section... here's the behavior I see:

I'm using Beastly Warden and when my pet does its F2 skill on NPCs, it shows the "Interrupt!" effect, they turn to my pet, stand there and stare for a second, then start attacking my pet. (Not counting NPCs with break bars, they behave differently)

I'm not sure it's doing the same thing for NPCs as it does for players (in my experience, i get forced into autoattacking the taunt source).

Am I understanding the bug section right? or did anything change?

Condition?[edit]

Taunt seems to be unaffected by condition cleanses 173.27.100.35 06:40, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

I'm having difficulty testing this because I can't actually find something that uses it. I'd also like to know what boon it's converted into (if any) to add to the conversion table --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 07:43, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
Nuhoch Stompers use taunt attacks quite frequently, if you feel like being pummeled by giant frogs. —Ventriloquist 14:35, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
Oh yeah it was STOMPERS not floppers. No wonder it didn't work heh. Shouldn't be too hard to test both of those with a guardian with smite condition, a shout other than SY, and Pure of Voice (since CoP is a stun break) --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 14:46, 6 July 2016 (UTC)
So, results: condition removal removes taunt, but is spotty because sometimes it doesn't actually return control to your character. Converting doesn't work at all, and will not remove taunt --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 15:10, 6 July 2016 (UTC)

Svanirs[edit]

Seems completely ineffective against svanirs in Bitterfrost Frontier. --Voidvector (talk) 14:32, 3 March 2017 (UTC)

Contribution[edit]

How often Taunt can be applied to single target durring fight? The preceding unsigned comment was added by 83.8.25.121 (talk) at 15:42, 26 March 2017 (UTC).

Heya, taunt can be applied off cooldown to a target, there is nothing preventing a target from being perpetually re-taunted the moment the effect is over. There is a cap on the duration the condition "taunt" can last, but not on how often it can be re-applied. -Darqam 03:06, 27 March 2017 (UTC)

Bug question[edit]

Players with a Defiance bar from controlling an Enchanted Armor will have their target locked on to the source of Taunt (but are free to move and use skills), even though the defiance bars should disable the effect. It is unknown whether other sources of defiance bars have this same behavior, or if it affects enemies.

Does anyone know if this also affects holding banners in WvW?
