Floating squid minion ftw. EiveTalk 23:57, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

Quite. CelleyBear 23:58, 18 August 2010 (UTC)
Yup, that's one of my more favorite minions so far Shadowed Ritualist 00:00, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
It reminds me of a Wind Rider, which really makes me want to summon it. -~=Ϛρѧякγ User Sparky, the Tainted guided sig.png (τѧιк) 00:00, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I choose you, Minion! Wait, Wind Rider go back into your Pokeball! EiveTalk 00:01, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
that minion is totally fckd up imo, as far as i've seen there are no really good things in the demo, there probably are (necromancer turning black thingy)but just pay attention more to the bad parts, I'm ok with some different minions, but cmon a flying one?if it would've had wings ok but I didn't see any :s Prince Grazel 00:05, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
It's cause so far they all are pretty much modeled after different creatures, this one is a wind rider, so why should it have wings? Shadowed Ritualist 00:06, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Tell me what is cool about a wind rider minion? :s NOTHING, they're the most uncool creatures in Tyria Prince Grazel 00:09, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
"It reminds me of a Wind Rider, which really makes me want to summon it."
You might not like it, Prince, but imho you BAWWWWW too much. It's a level 1 summon, ffs. --Kyoshi User Kyoshi sig.png (Talk) 00:10, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

(Reset indent) Are you sure this is the right name for the skill description? Taste of Death does not sound like a skill that would create a flying minion and (I know it's a different game but) it has a completely different effect in gw1. ~ Bow User Bow Sig.png | 00:24, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Yeah, I don't think it's right either, but it is what it is. I watched it several times, and at the end of the cast time for this (and I'm sure it was this, it had the cool waves on the icon), the minion was summoned. It did actually create this. Shadowed Ritualist 00:25, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Just mentioning now, it's called taste of death, because even though it summons a minion, it changes after summoning the minion, and thus has an effect which probably more pertains, but I can't read what it is, actually, I know it kills the minion, but I have no idea, considering that was the only minion, and the user was at full health, energy and life force, so I have no idea what it should do. Soooo, those are the flying meat puppets of the minions, I'm assuming it works like the gw1 in gw2, but there were no other minions.
Does that mean you can only have one louzy minion? Prince Grazel 00:43, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
You're basing assumptions off of a demo (most likely released a year before the game) in which you are level one. Please stop. EiveTalk 00:45, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
No, these aren't assumptions. You can summon once with each minion spell, after which it has another use. Certain ones seem to summon multiple though. I could probably find where martin mentioned that, and the multiple part is from seeing simply three identical tiny minions one of the necro charr had. Shadowed Ritualist 00:47, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
But Eive is right, you're going off a demo not the finished game. Many things could be changed by the time the game is actually released. Ramei Arashi 06:12, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
I shall be the first to say that it is amazing that we can have baby giant spaghetti monsters as minions. CelleyBear 00:50, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
(Edit conflict) x 4 Yup, because one skill we've glimpsed in a demo will reveal the entire mechanic of minions. ShadowRunner 00:52, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Yup, because the gw developers saying something can't reveal anything on them. Because they mentioned how the minion mechanic worked, I'm not making this up from here, they've literly confirmed that. None of you can seem to grasp that. Shadowed Ritualist 01:16, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
Which video has the minions in it? i havent been able to find it. Victor6267 User Roaring Taco Black Moa Chick.png 01:50, 19 August 2010 (UTC)
You can see one pretty clearly in this video. It is off to the left in the first part of the video - it looks like a floating ball of flesh with a spine. There might be other better ones around... -- Aspectacle User Aspectacle.png 06:29, 19 August 2010 (UTC)

Using Taste of Death seems to put Summon Bone Fiend on cd for 10 seconds, as per gamescom 2011 Crucis 21:44, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

3000 / 12000[edit]

This skill appears to heal the Necromancer for approximately one quarter of max health.

Due to absolutely no knowledge of how it scales based on level, I don't think we have anything to put on the article so far. Just thought it may be of interest. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 05:32, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

Hmmm, percentage based skills. Interesting. I was hoping for more of these. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 05:55, 2 February 2012 (UTC)
"Due to absolutely no knowledge of how it scales"
That's how it works. At one level. Of one beta. That's all I'm sayin'. User A F K When Needed Signature Icon.png A F K When Needed 06:41, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

The weakest start healing skill of all profession by far[edit]

Seriously, all other profession give access to starting heal really cool. (the Guardian even has the right to be invulnerable while healing...okay, why not ... And the thief instant disaggro due to 3sec Stealth PLUS Regen for 4sec... Warrior great quick heal PLUS give a bonus adrenaline. Elementalist have boon as bonus, like the heal wasn't enough...Same for engineer...Nothing special for mesmer and ranger who still access to quick unconditional heal)

AAaaaanndd... There is the Necromancer, whose starting heal skill that can be launch if, and ONLY, if you have called a blood fiend AND if he's alive. THEN, when you meet those condition (which can be prevent from blood fiend summoning recharging, blood fiend already dead...), you finally can heal (not even especially more than other profession), BUT your blood fiend (which is your only minion until you access to other minions skill) have to be sacrifice in the process!

Oh great, now you have a few more Health, but your blood fiend is dead, so it cannot give you some little health per attack, not (more important) defend you anyway. So in 90% of danger situation, it will just pull the agro the blood fiend took to the necromancer itself and the said "healing skill" just put even more in trouble.

It's like "oh, okay, you're in trouble ? Here, use this skill, that will kill your only minion to keep you safe from ennemies against some few health. That's gonna help you for sure!"

And, like it was overpowered (lol), it doesn't give any boons, any invulnerability, any heal of minion (relate to ranger healing its pet in the process), and any sweet bonus (some adrenaline, greater heal by numbers of illusion).

Now that my Necro is 80, I haven't trouble. But, what the hell at start, this idiot skill is like having no healing skill at all for 80% of dangerous situation.

As I started with necro I thought the game was as harsh with other profession, but that's not even the case. Damn, my necro's life would have been far more easy if I had that abusive guardian heal (i'm healing and you can do nothing, i'm just invulnerable).

Simply, "sucking life point" from enemy aren't sufficient when in trouble, so must of the time, (where with other profession I would just stick to my healing skill and some evade, tactical skill), with my necro , I just run away, hopping ennemies won't achieve me, and not even using "taste of death" cause hoping ennemy will stick to my blood fiend was 3/4 a better bet.

conclusion :

(At least) at start, Necro are unfairly unbalanced in healing compare to all other profession. (I think even after, with healing skill cause : -"consume conditions" need, well...conditions to have an effect (meaning, you take big DPS without condition, well, f**k you then, your healing is useless trololol) - "Well of blood " need you to stick inside the well (oh great, If I want to survive, I want my heal being effective I can't escape). Perfect when you try to survive from close-fight ennemy...

I tell you, I don't know why, but ANET developpers just hate necro... Why the hell did they give them unconditional heal skill to EVERY profession, but not necro which need conditions/blood fiend alive/being in a specific static zone for having the right to heal ??? Don't tell me it's because they have access to skill like "life siphon" because other profession have offensive skill that heal themself in the process too..

I just feel Necro are unfairly weak in term of heal...
