Gates of Maguuma[edit]

There may be a glitch or bug. I have not gotten any mail from "E," although I have gone through much of Dry Top (8 POI; 2 WP; 2 Vistas; 1 SP) I have just gotten the update of 01:40 A.M. July 2, 2014, Server time. --Gold Recluse (talk) 01:51, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

If you haven't completed your personal story, you need to go to the journal, select Living World Season 2, and click the button to activate it. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 02:24, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
Thanks, that's the fix! --Gold Recluse (talk) 09:47, 2 July 2014 (UTC)

Odd behavior[edit]

On my account, I have only one character who has completed the first installment of LS:S2. A second character can go to his storyline and select Gates of Maguuma, and click on the button to replay. A third character cannot; it says he has to play through in order to unlock it.

I thought once you went there and completed the story arc once, it was unlocked for all characters to do the extra credit achievements. I think I'm missing SOMETHING, but there's no way one character should be able to click the button, but another character cannot. Is this a bug? Daddicus (talk)

Your characters have to be level 80.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:02, 6 July 2014 (UTC)
They are. Strange. Daddicus (talk)

I'm a little fuzzy on this:[edit]

If we find we cannot finish the 1st chapter before the 3rd chapter shows up, does that mean we have to buy chapter 2? And 3, later?

No. All you have to do to unlock an episode to login while it is active. It doesn't matter which episodes you've completed or not. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 23:29, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
I had gone in and walked much of Dry Top, even joining a party for some of the "GoM" instances before I opened the chapter for my own acct. My pals got credit for the instances, but not I, until later. So the PvE map zones are available to all, But the Living Story material must be 'earned' by timeliness or Gems. --Gold Recluse (talk) 23:40, 27 July 2014 (UTC)
OK, thanks guys! Daddicus (talk)

Stealth update with Episode 3[edit]

The Personal Story now functions like Season 2 fully, under a single tab (My Story), each of the eight chapters are a single entry now, with each entry divided. There's a grand total of 20 different names (3x5 for the racial storylines, the rest share the same names of Order Neophyte, <forgot Racial sympathy name>, The Battle of Claw Island, Forming the Pact, and Victory or Death). Story journal not showing Victory or Death section (2015/07/22)[edit]

Two of my characters completed/got to the last mission of the personal story before it was restored to the original sequence. For these two characters the "Victory or Death" section shown in File:Story Journal My Story.jpg doesn't appear for me.

I'm about to start chapter 7 on another character that is doing the full fear choice arc - maybe this character will get the 8th section? I'm wondering if people who did the PS before they shortened it have the full 8 sections? --Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 18:55, 22 July 2015 (UTC)

List of mastery gates?[edit]

Is there a list of storyline steps that require masteries in order to proceed? Daddicus (talk)

Don't think there is one on the wiki, but they do say in the mastery description in-game if they are or not. For reference: Gliding 2, Exalted Lore 1, Nuhoch Lore 1 are the needed ones. Konig 13:24, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
Thanks! Daddicus (talk)

There's no article on the Heart of Thorns story[edit]

The Living World seasons all have their own dedicated article detailing the story-line chapter by chapter (one, two and three. They are well-written and generally great resources to catch up the game. A similar resource would be great for the Heart of Thorns story, allowing newer players to get up to speed in the current Living World even if they skipped this part of the story.

The Story Journal navigation template {{Story summaries nav}} points to Act 1 through 4, but those links lead to the Achievement categories, which have no place in this context. I have not found any story pages.

I have gone ahead and created Heart of Thorns (Story), using the layout of the Living World pages. I'm not a great writer, however, and any help populating this page would be greatly appreciated.

Purple stars for all episodes, including recent ones?[edit]

I am a bit confused about this. I don't understand if it is possible to replay one single specific step inside a storyline - like for the Dry Top storyline with the purple star - for all episodes. Therefore my question: Is the purple star system working for all episodes, even the most recent ones? Thank you. --Tilu (talk) 14:11, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

It should work for any re-playable story, so that is LS 2 and 3. -Darqam 14:52, 29 May 2017 (UTC)

Story Unlocks[edit]

Should we have the list of purchasable Story Unlocks on this page or on a separate one? Or should we just have a line at the beginning of each chapter saying how much it costs to buy that particular chapter? See Category:Story Unlocks for list. --Rain Spell (talk) 01:23, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

Rewards[edit]

Rewards should be updated- influence and hero point consumables are no longer in the game at all and do not drop from Story missions. --206.53.77.180 16:44, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Fixed, thanks for the heads up! - Doodleplex 16:56, 16 August 2017 (UTC)

Are there ever rewards for repeating a story episode after the first time? (not achievements within stories but for the story itself.) Can this info be added to the page? Vana Runedottir (talk) 13:55, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Feedback 2019/12/15[edit]

Would this be a good place to add a cross reference between a story chapter and the areas(s) (in order) in which it occurs such as:

Daybreak: Istan
PoF Act 3: Elona
