"Energy Regeneration", and Shield Stance? I thought warriors used adrenaline... --Naut User Naut Dark Blue Monk.png 19:44, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

I agree, this appears to make no sense. Unless it is similar to the enchantments maintained in GW1, thus there may still be an "energy" that regenerates naturally. Venom20 [User_talk:Venom20] 19:46, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Warriors have energy, in addition to adrenaline. The article's content is basically from http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-game/professions/warrior/ pling User Pling sig.png 20:07, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, I'm not sure how anyone would get the idea that they don't have energy from the warrior reveal. Besides that, GW1 Warriors had over half of their skills using energy, I don't see why they'd change that. EiveTalk 01:50, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
The idea is simple, it all comes down to wording. Warriors shouldn't have an energy pool or mana pool as these are generally designed for spell casters, which the warrior is not. Warriors, and perhaps other melee characters should have something similar but be called another thing, perhaps stamina. Yes it makes sense that stances should be maintained at the cost of something, I just personally thought that "energy" made little sense. The again, I dislike playing melee classes, so what would I know, just my 2 cents Venom20 [User_talk:Venom20] 03:21, 18 June 2010 (UTC)
Energy just stands for how much energy a person has left during the fight it can be both magical and non magical, changing it for the warrior to call it 'stamina' would just be silly. Prince Grazel 09:43, 13 August 2010 (UTC)

Energy[edit]

Energy isn't as important a mechanic anymore, so what's the downside of the stances now then? still an energy penalty? cos then it only affects your dodging and thats a much less potent downside Thering 13:08, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

They might include a penalty to attack or movement speed, or cause your skills to recharge slower or make you take more damage. Just see almost any stance from GW1 and imagine it in GW2. They also might have a recharge time. Mediggo 13:13, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Mhmm. I was wondering if anyone had noticed anything from the demo videos, rather than speculation, but those all sound like plausible options Thering 13:15, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
Someone remember to ask about stances the next time there's a Q&A session with the devs. -- Blue Phoenix User Blue Phoenix Phoenix inverted.jpg 00:41, 16 December 2011 (UTC)

Shield Stance?[edit]

Why doesn't Shield Stance count as a stance? Should this be a bug, or do you think it's by design?

It is intentional. Shield Stance is a channeling skill, blocking for 3s, which can be cancelled (e.g. by evading). In that case the 'stance' actually refers to a real stance: a certain pose. Also, please sign your comments with 4 tidles (~~~~). Qiff 14:04, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
