Contrary to Dolyak Signet[edit]

This signet does not raise toughness, but simply reduces incoming damage as a separate stat. That suggests it also reduces condition damage, whereas the Dolyak Signet does not. Would someone adept to testing please check to see if this is true? --JunBerry 06:44, 27 October 2012 (PDT)

Talk[edit]

Sounds insanely OP to me, while you have it on youre immune to damage and conditions? that cant be right...--82.26.245.69 14:42, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

May be only 4 seconds or something. It's an anti-gank, everyone has one, I believe. - Infinite - talk 14:47, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
But how would you make a passive effect only last 4 seconds? - Giant Nuker 14:55, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
The video I looked had Signet of Judgment equipped, but he was still taking normal damage and conditions. But Protection boon effect is on top of his HP ball. So is the Protection effect written correctly? Maybe it just makes you take less damage but not clearly preventing whole damage. Video: at 2 hours 11 minuts 35 seconds 2:12:18 is the use time. Wapakalypse 15:31, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I think passive and active are switched in the description.... Screenshot of SoJ's description? - Infinite - talk 15:36, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I'll check it , but if I remember correctly then they are not switched. Wapakalypse 15:37, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I based my deduction on Symbol of Judgment. - Infinite - talk 15:38, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Signet of Judgment Wapakalypse 15:41, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Then Protection and Invulnerability are actually not the same thing. It is OP if protection = invulnerability. - Infinite - talk 15:45, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
That should stop your worries: lolSignet Wapakalypse 15:48, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Virtue of Resolve. :< - Infinite - talk 15:50, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Meh! what about the next one next to it on the picture? Edit: eh thats also a virtue one. Wapakalypse 15:51, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Did this skill even work in the Demo? :P - Infinite - talk 15:54, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
I'm starting to think it's just a protection vs damage, not a protection boon. EDIT: Is that regeneration symbol? It lasted round 4 seconds though. Wapakalypse 15:56, 13 March 2011 (UTC)
Maybe the protection granted by that signet is just indication of a passive armor boost. I don't really know. :> - Infinite - talk 16:09, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

(Reset indent) The passive effect of Signet of Judgment is the yellow helmet and it looks indeed like an armor boost. The character with this effect is definitely not invulnerable. On the other hand, the effect represented with a blue ankh really makes the target immune to conditions and damages. I don't know the name for both though. If someone finds a screenshot, tell us... Chriskang 16:43, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

It's probably right, the yellow helmet is on 2 pictures I made. Wapakalypse 17:34, 13 March 2011 (UTC)

Sources?[edit]

I would really like a source for where this new description came from. Because this skill has significantly changed descriptions about 2-3 times, and I want the real information. It used to be the active caused burning to foes and regeneration to allies, (like Symbol of Judgment, which I assume should be related). Did someone from the CB do this? Because if not, this information just doesn't seem right... --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 173.76.220.66 (talk).

Amount[edit]

It reduces all damage by a flat 10% --109.130.81.101 02:27, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Also, it does not give you the Protection boon, which could mean it stacks --109.130.81.101 02:30, 29 April 2012 (UTC)

Buff needed![edit]

Okay I looked through the past 10-15 versions of this skill and I can see how people find it awkwardly overpowered due to its passive effects. But since "Protection has been totally changed, maybe Anet could think about granting Signet of Judgment the passive effect of Protection again. Looking at other signets make a flat 10% really look UNDERPOWERED.(I played the past 3 beta events)--DIVA 15:55, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

"Signet of Judgment + Vengeful + Signet Mastery" is fulltime retaliation, if i permanent use the button ? I see right ? Some feeds plz :)

No, a passive -10% damage taken is absolutely NOT underpowered by any stretch of the imagination. You can maintain Signet of Judgement's passive indefinitely so of course it will reduce damage by less than a Boon that can only be kept up for a limited amount of time. Compared to other Guardian signets, Signet of Judgement has the best passive because % damage reduction scales much better than a flat amount of stats like Power, Condition Damage (which Guardians don't even want), or Healing Power (which is one of the worst scaling stats in the game) does. The active component also scales incredibly well and it has a VERY short cooldown. Why are you asking for buffs on arguably our strongest signet?

How it works with protection?[edit]

I wonder, is the passive effect of the signet add to protection and then reduce the 43% of the damage or it work separately before or after protection and effectively reduce the 41% of the damage? 79.43.202.125 12:23, 27 May 2013 (GMT)

2021-10-05 Patch - New text and now multiplicative[edit]

The signet now says "Signet Passive: 90% Incoming Damage, 90% Incoming Condition Damage" instead of "-10% Incoming Damage, -10% Incoming Condition Damage". The patch notes also mention that all percentage damage reduction is now multiplicative. Can anyone confirm this? --GoingMenthol (talk) 20:21, 5 October 2021 (UTC)

Good spot, thanks! It's enough conformation when you see it this way in-game and thus everyone can reproduce it. --Tolkyria (talk) 21:51, 5 October 2021 (UTC)
