Seems I made the page kinda clunky-- if someone could just purty it up? I did the best I could. Still, the reference is the clearest gameplay video I've found and comes in 3 parts for those who want to see it. It also explains how you can toggle skills to make them autocast when they recharge and how there is no auto-attack. Ivokk 01:43, 7 September 2010 (UTC)

I probably can't help a lot more, because the concept of the scout simple is very simple and straightforward (Reminds me a lot the Guards system in Dark Age of Camelot :D). The page related to such an info is perfect if it stays like this imho. I ll try to check a few other conference videos to leech every possible info however .... keep up with the good work! According to Wartower Spotlight GC 2010, at 33:07, there may be another NPC (Scholar Marula) that somewhat functions as a scout but is not mentioned in the wiki yet. --202.156.14.103 14:42, 12 December 2010 (UTC)

list of scouts[edit]

Do we really need different pages for each area? Could we just make a list of all scouts on one page, listed by area? for example, on gww there is only one page for all vanquishable areas, and they are listed by zones. --Moto Saxon 19:45, 4 August 2011 (UTC)

Good thing this isn't GWW then. Currently I do not have a "better" solution, so I suppose I'm going to object to making a decision at the moment. Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 19:49, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
List of collectors rings a bell. - Infinite - talk 19:50, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
I'm amenable to whichever; how that would look and the size of that for just the 4 or so areas we've gathered some info on can be seen in the original sandbox version. I do want to note that they are separated by region at the moment, not simply by area, and that each area is charting about 10-15 hearts each. If people feel that having it consolidated on one page would be more useful or not eventually prove to be unwieldy (as more information on scouts for all areas in all regions across the current game and future expansions come in), then we can have that arranged as such :). Redshift 19:58, 4 August 2011 (UTC)
A collapseable list wouldn't be harmful, but sub-pages isn't a bad thing.(I'd prefer List of scouts with List of scouts/Ascalon over current method); separating by area is pointless (imo) as I'm sure areas will be listing their NPCs and in turn have a list of scouts sub-section and thus a redirect would work more efficiently there. Konig/talk 00:59, 5 August 2011 (UTC)
While I prefer individual list of scouts page for every explorable maps, like List of scouts of Queensdale, over other methods. 2 benefits from doing this: 1) Pages won't get too long, easier to view and edit. 2) Explorable map pages can directly call it, for example, List of scouts of Queensdale claimed in Queensdale. Also simplify the explorable map pages. User:Glastium Glastium | talk 07:11, 5 August 2011 (UTC)

About these...[edit]

If you finish everything they usually point out, they no longer show you where things are and just compliment you on a job well done.Yumiko ^,~ 15:18, 12 June 2012 (UTC)

bug ?[edit]

I'm not sure since when, but when i talk to them, their icon still show on my map. I switched to an EU server about a week ago. Could it be related somehow ? Should i report it ? TulipVorlax 23:55, 24 January 2013 (UTC)

I noticed it happening in the southern half of Sparkfly Fen, but not anywhere else. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 04:21, 25 January 2013 (UTC)

Scout Format[edit]

Could we all follow a specific format for the scouts? I was thinking the format for Padar Grindaxe seems to be the cleanest in my opinion. I do not think that level of the hearts or the scout are important as they do link to the heart itself and there is no need to link the description of the heart either. The picture of the scout should be without the scout symbol above head if possible so we can see a bigger picture of the scout when only flicking by the page. If anyone has any thoughts/suggestions please raise them. Turial 11:07, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Neither the dialogue nor the table on that page follow our standard formatting style. Dialogue should be formatted as shown on Guild Wars 2 Wiki:NPC formatting, and tables should use STDT. Also, the dialogue needs to document both the pre-completion audio and the post-completion text. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 13:41, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
The post-completion text is just the description with the word completed in front of it, I don't think that needs to be added since they are almost identical. The pre-completion audio, do they not just give a generic line when you speak to them? As for the formatting, I don't have a great wiki-sense so I would ask that you could fix a scout page yourself so that I may follow that as my base to help me out as I fill in the missing information for the wiki. Turial 14:13, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
When you first speak to a scout, the map pops up and they give you a voiced summary of what's happening nearby, while the map pans around to point out the hearts. After you complete those hearts and talk to the scout again, they have different non-voiced dialogue, usually saying something like, "You really helped out around here, thanks!" Neither of those are generic.
I updated Dojhin to a more standard format. While doing so, I decided that since scouts have that special voice-over, we can stand to have a special formatting for it, so I made it a "Scouting report" section that combines the voice-over with the table of hearts. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 15:30, 1 February 2013 (UTC)
