IMO it sounds better. I love harry potter and all, but wands just sound more magician than elementalist to me. Besides, I always wondered why they were called wands in the first place, since they were quite large to be called wands. One handed?

So far neither scholar can dual wield scepters, so unless the Mesmer can -stop flaming me on the word Mesmer, lol- these are very likely main-hand only. (Although it would be 100% speculation to say so at this point. ;P) - Infinite - talk 13:23, 28 January 2011 (UTC)

Melee Weapon?

What are the play mechanics on a scepter? Does it function as a melee weapon, like in Diablo 2? Or is it more like a wand from Guild Wars? Or is it class specific, where a guardian can hit things with it and a caster would "wand" with it? BladeArrowney 16:33, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for clearing that up. I was toying around with build ideas and scepter seemed neat, but the "ranged" part of it is a bit of a turn off. Also, I changed the description on the scepter page to read that it is a ranged weapon. Hopefully no one minds... BladeArrowney 17:38, 29 February 2012 (UTC)
