Talk:Pull

There are some skills on the list that don't pull target but rather pull caster to it. Should we correct the description and add skills with the similar effect to the list like Air Pocket and Ride the Lightning; or may be create a separate entry for this kind of pull? (The former seems more logical to me) Alfa-R User Alfa-R sig.png 10:28, 25 August 2011 (UTC)

What skills might you be referring to? I was thinking about starting a page for Teleport or Flash which would include those two skills you mentioned, as well as Flashing Blade, Blinding Flash and maybe some others. Mediggo 12:06, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Ah, the elementalist spells. Well, the difference between those skills which pull is that they are most likely affected by obstacles as well as other ground effects. Flashing or teleporting seems to refer to instantaneous movement, whereas pull is not. Seemingly. I only remember seeing how Scropion Wire worked in one of the promo videos, and that was most likely a pull, not flash or tele. Mediggo 12:15, 25 August 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, obstacles matter make sence here. I'll change description to indicate that there are 2 kinds of pull (caster to target and target to caster) then. Alfa-R User Alfa-R sig.png 09:33, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
I asked this question under Scorpion Wire, but as someone rightly pointed out it should have gone here, so here it is. Does anyone know if pull sets off a trap if you pull your target through it? For example, if I set tripwire then backed up and use scorpion wire, will it trigger tripwire and knock them down? Or will they land on the other side of it and leave the trap untriggered? Technically they are not dragged along the floor and are rather flung through the air, so I thought I'd ask. - Rin Aki 10:02, 27 September 2011 (UTC)

Knockdown[edit]

I'm fairly sure that pulling causes knockdown. This can even be seen in the earliest Scorpion Wire video. Push also seems to cause knockdown, though both seem to last little shorter than a regular knockdown. I think that we could use the icon for Push and Knockdown for Pull as well, since it's been lacking its own ever since the effect being discovered. Any objections? Mediggo 08:58, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

No, not all pulls cause knockdown - I know Pull (guardian skill) does not cause knockdown because I tested it yesterday in order to create that page. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:51, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

Missing skill[edit]

The Magnetic Bomb dropped by the Engineer trait Streamlined Kits does pull enemys together. 91.65.187.119 23:45, 8 September 2017 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out! I added it to a Related traits section, which I think is the correct way. ~ Fishrock (talk) 02:37, 9 September 2017 (UTC)

The Tail Spin Raptor skill does pull enemies together with the Round Up Mastery Pzykotik (talk) 07:59, 4 September 2022 (UTC)

Icon[edit]

I've checked tooltips of listed skills and traits. Not all of them mention pull in bottom part (the one with the icons, below description), but if they do they don't use Knockdown.png Knockdown icon. Instead it's Radius.png Radius icon. The only exception is Retreating Grapple which uses Knockback.png Knockback icon. I'm wondering if it wouldn't be better to change icon for Pull.png Pull. If change was to happen it would require changes to this page as well as Template:Pull and Template:Effects nav.

By now the icon seems to be consistently changed all around. Nasurelin (talk) 11:59, 29 August 2018 (UTC)
