5 days[edit]

Any idea what "at your command for 5 days!" could mean? --The Evanescent 20:53, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Most likely that after activation, you can summon it during the time of five days. The simplest answer is usually the right one. Tuomir 20:56, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, what is that, the Law of Maximum Parsimony or something? Kormon Balser User Kormon Balser Tango-dervish-icon-small.png 21:18, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
The simplest answer also makes this item pretty useless. I almost never use banks in any games. But yea, making as few assumptions as possible usually leads to the answer with the least amount of mistakes.217.86.167.152 09:56, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
If it's only for five days... Is the Digital Deluxe edition really worth it? You only get two permanent items with it, one of which is purely aesthetic... ~ 94.168.152.73 18:34, 29 March 2012 (UTC)
That is a question only you can answer for yourself. --zeeZUser ZeeZ Sig.png (talk) 18:58, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

Does it say anywhere if you choose when to activate this? Or if it activates at launch and you get it for 5 days starting then. If the latter, THEN its a fucking waste. Otherwise, i imagine itll be useful. We dont know what the requirements will be to access your account vault. Whether itll cost gold, require a certain level or point in the story, etc. Then you could access your storage on characters who arent otherwise qualified. I know this would be pretty damn useful in gw for pre searing chars.108.219.180.219 06:07, 7 April 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, i agree since for the first five days you will mainly be getting to know the feel of the game (doing nooby things, you will think later), i hardly think there will be people that explored most of the game in that time, or at least i hope since if that happens it simply wasn't worth the wait...I do hope that this changes, since paying almost 50% more for mostly one-use items just isn't worth it. But then again, they will be implementing a lot of these things you will have to pay for to make up for no subscription fees, so i guess we'll just have to get used to it, just hoping that it doesn't make playing the game without paying for all that stuff still great. 95.180.84.110 00:36, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
According to the FAQ, "The five-day period begins when you first use the Golem Banker." --Thervold 17:17, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Still a little disappointing, but I got it anyway. xD ~ ♥ Kailani! 18:27, 12 April 2012 (UTC)
Only 5 days? I'd rather pay a small gold service fee for every transaction (like a real bank) than waste it on a limited time service. -Wrei110.175.241.56 04:43, 5 May 2012 (UTC)

Mine lasts for 2 weeks every time I make a character. I didn't know it normally lasts for 5days. I figured I would mention it here. I'm not sure what makes it last for 2 weeks instead of 5days. It might have something to do with my GW1 account because I have HoM at 50/50 and GWAMM on there. My GW2 is a Pre-ordered Deluxe edition. Here's a screenshot: 2Weeks Golem Banker. It shows 1 week and 4days on this one because I already have it active for 3days. I didn't want to delete a character to show you the full length. 212.85.172.110 10:13, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

One-time bonus?[edit]

I see the "Acquisition, a one-time bonus" note.

  • Is this per account or per character? In other words... does EACH character get their 'own' Golem (with separate 5-day timers) OR is there only one account-wide Golem, with a shared 5-day timer?
It's per-character. And despite being account-bound, you cannot pull a golem banker owned by a different character out of your bank. So no infinite supply of golem bankers. ;) ZerothAngel 19:46, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
  • If each character gets their own, then that's a great convenience for the 5-8+ characters you will create over time. If it's only one account-wide Golem... then it realistically boils down to ONLY ONE character being 'able' to use it. When the game goes live, I see the majority of players sticking with one character for the 1st week, vs bouncing around among multiple alts.   Frostty1 12:20, 5 June 2012 (UTC)
It changed several times thorough the betas, but after release it's like this:
  • When a character it's created, it gets a golem banker summoner 'box'. It says account customized, but it's actually soulbound.
  • After hat, you can have the 'box' for as long as you want as it won't expire. But if you use the box, it's destroyed and creates a Golem Banker summoner in your inventory.
  • The Golem Banker summoner expires after 5 days, and during that time, it can be used as many times as you want, creating a Golem Banker NPC in the area for a long time, although you can't create it more than once per area while the first one is there. Crafting trainers makes this even more useless[edit]

At all the crafters around outposts and towns lets you have access to the bank and the materials bank so really this is nothing and will stay in my bank unless changes are done to this item. It needs to be a permanent banker that follows you around with due to this change but on a cooldown of lets say...30 minutes to an hour? lasting only 5 minutes I would say is fair. Considering I paid for the CE, yes I am going to enjoy everything else for years to come but considering the hero's band will only help for maybe first 10 levels if that, the elite skill cant be use til level 30, chalice and tome are 1 time uses. Only great thing is the mini Rytlock and the elite once you get to 30. Honestly I dont see the elite being better then alot of the other classes' elites so in the end, just the Rytlock mini will be used. ~Kris Auditore The preceding unsigned comment was added by 75.109.223.225 (talk • contribs) at 04:23, 7 August 2012 (UTC).

Yah, the golem banker is rather useless now. The thing that killed mobile banking to me was the "Deposit collectables" or whatever it is called in the inventory. Although I only got the normal edition, since at the time I heard the bonus stuff would be available from gemstore later. So it would feel a bit unfair if the banker was a permanent advantage, even with a cooldown, because people who didn't get the edition with it would need to keep paying gems for same benefit. However, if it were made to mimic the Asuran Butler Golem and still only last 5 days, i think that would fix the problem. At least that one opens mystic chests and such. Stresstest Tuesday 21th August[edit]

When I tried the Golem-Banker in yesterdays stresstest I could only use the Golem-Banker once. After that it wasn't in my inventory. Didn't look in the bank maybe it got stored there. Can anyone elaborate on this? --Snakes Shadow 08:31, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

It was supposed to be a golem banker that stays with you for 5 days or so. Instead, you use it once, stays in the location in which you created it, and when you leave the area, it vanishes. I can't imagine anything more useless. 192.168.104.27 09:47, 25 August 2012 (UTC)
Loks like it does what it's supposed to do now. It still spawns a banker and disappears, but now it also creates another item in your inentory. This item will last 4 days. Since it will spawn for each character and it's account bound instead soulbound, you can make unlimited ones for other characters, as long as you keep a character slot empty. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 00:40, 26 August 2012 (UTC)
Oh. It still says account bound. But looks like it's actually soulbond. So no tricks. Just 4 days for new characters. Enough to get them equipped from the tutorial, I guess. MithUser MithranArkanere Star.pngTalk 06:15, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
It's still listed as account bound but quite clearly soulbound when one tries to move it between characters on the same account. More rubbish. Wonderland 05:28, 22 September 2012 (UTC)

Used, what now?[edit]

I used mine, figured it's there, I might as well use it. Now it's been 5 days and when I mouse over it, it says Time Expired. At this point I'm thinking just destroy the little guy? Or is that being hasty?Varuuth 02:51, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Toss the item. The golem can no longer be summoned, so you might as well free up the inventory slot. 75.37.22.89 02:57, 2 December 2012 (UTC)

Reusable[edit]

The item description says : "Double-click to access your account bank from anywhere. Reusable." Does that mean it can be clicked multiple times? Saga[TSD] | talk 20:02, 20 December 2013 (UTC)

API id[edit]

There are 2 "Golem Banker" on GW2 API:

https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/item_details.json?item_id=21048

https://api.guildwars2.com/v1/item_details.json?item_id=21043

The first is a Gizmo, the second is a consumable. Shouldn't we change the infobox from NPC to item? Alcarin (talk) 23:33, 7 May 2014 (UTC)

I wonder if it's an odd, delivery-related thing: when it's still in the email, it's a consumable and when it hits your inventory, it's a gizmo? Or even double-clicking it changes it's state from con to gizmo. Just a ponderation. — snogratUser Snograt signature.png 23:43, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Yeah, most likely it's a consumable before being used, and then treated as a gizmo once it's out of the box. --Ventriloquist (talk) 23:45, 7 May 2014 (UTC)
Makes sense. I've never used anything like this that expires X days after first use, but it would be easy to implement by doing what Vent says: you initially get a consumable, and when you first use it, it gives you a gizmo that expires 14 days after it was created. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 00:17, 8 May 2014 (UTC)
