What Chest?[edit]

I didn't see a chest. All's I saw was a Giant Destroyer Troll, or was it Giant Troll Destroyer?. WHY DOESN'T ARENANET SCALE THEIR BOSS MONSTERS? Give me my Heroe's back, or scale back the flipping bosses that you have little chance of defeating, unless you are taking speed or meth. Or give me my real Troll Unguent back +10 regen and constantly ready to recast. The healing is pathetic if you have to face a boss alone - which I frequently do. Or reduce the burning effects of the boss which is way more than I get. --CraigDC42 06:59, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

It's a group event, you're not supposed to beat it on your own unless you're REALLY good at avoiding attacks and the AoE spawns. Also, the chest spawns after you beat the troll. --Lustre Of Havoc 09:14, 16 September 2012 (UTC)
It spawns or it doesn't, killed troll myself and nothing was there, checked with ctrl, and run around until another troll spawned... 178.42.169.123 16:41, 20 September 2012 (UTC)
The chest is an nod to Borderlands and doesn't show up with CTRL. It still may not have been there, It's been buggy in the past. LiquidShorts 19:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Exit[edit]

You can exit the lava section into Copperhammer Mines/Molodets Excavation. There was a Rich Platinum Vein on the way out. A short drop keeps players from entering that way, a Mesmer could probably portal people up? LiquidShorts 19:18, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Portal works there Separ (talk) 15:45, 11 August 2019 (UTC)

Invulnerable Destroyer is truly a troll[edit]

Made it to end of the puzzle and the boss was invulnerable from everything I threw at it no matter where it or I were standing.

That happened to us too but after kiting him around for a few trying to figure out if there was some mechanism we were missing he randomly became attackable. Killed him. Chest had 3 white items and a blue (seriously). He instant respawned after we killed him. Seems pretty bugged to me.
Lure it into the Lava fountains that pop up every 10-15 sec. Separ (talk) 19:36, 11 August 2018 (UTC)

Chest[edit]

Anyone know anything about the chest that opens and closes at the end? --The preceding unsigned comment was added by User:174.126.62.183 (talk).

Chests at the end of the jumping puzzles are awarded for completing the puzzle. They usually contain a few items, and some coin. solocommand 22:54, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

I imagine hes refering to the fact that it yeilds nothing. Possible bug. A chest-looking thing opens but nothing to loot.

I was able to loot the chest after killing the giant destroyer troll. - 20:03, 2 October 2012 (CET)

Any confirmation on the chest midway? I can't seem to find it. LiquidShorts 18:36, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

There is a chest. It's in a crack in the wall that you get to from the safe platform that's across from the platform with the two fire cannons. Here are some images - kusiobache

Stuff I Noticed With The Giant Destroyer Event / Alternate Strategy[edit]

I decided to re-do this puzzle with my glass cannon ranged DPS toon for this Month's Achievements. I died thrice at the end. Given the distance you travel and effort you have to go through, I was pretty pissed (I even used two Resurrection Orbs to avoid the long walk). This led me to be careful about the fight and analyze the situation rather than jumping in for my last, successful attempt. I noticed the following surprising things: 1) The lava bursts only occur in particular parts of the chamber, two at a time. They do not seem to be "under the control" of the Giant Destroyer but are random or perhaps follow a set pattern. 2) The Giant Destroyer is actually NOT immune to burning. (I've not observed him being damaged by the lava bursts, but both observations make sense if so.) Rather than taking a big risk by dodging around the lava bursts to lure him in (and thus getting blasted if you make a mistake), instead try fighting him on the ramp at the entrance to his chamber. The lava bursts don't occur here, so you're safe from them. At the same time, since he's susceptible to burning, you don't have to leave that condition out of the fight unlike with other Destroyers. It's also possible to pick other parts of the chamber to fight him on, but you run the risk of him leashing and going invulnerable at some parts. --Messenger (talk) 19:57, 3 November 2013 (UTC)

Events and Trivia[edit]

Should the events for Section Zuhl location be listed here? I encountered at least three events that are not listed on the Timberline Falls page: the chest event, survive the destroyer attacks, and one with two dredge controllers (this could have been on the surface, I could tell for sure because I WP'd during the event text. Also, during the dredge event, the dredge controller says "You may knock us down, but we'll always stand back up!" However, he adds "We're like Weebles." to the end of that sentence but it doesn't display in chat, only the first part. This can be added to the trivia section because it's in reference to the old Weeble toys - Weebles wobble but they don't fall down. --Xavi Yago (talk) 00:11, 18 July 2014 (UTC)

Is there a permanent rich platinum vein at the chest?[edit]

There were 2 rich platinum nodes at the end chest in my instance. Are any of them a permanent rich node? --138.75.231.164 11:44, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

No, but there is a permanent node accessed by heading southwest out of the lava room. (you drop down into the dredge mine afterwards) -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 11:47, 3 September 2016 (UTC)

It's not listed here (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Platinum_Ore_(node)) though, but the guaranteed one at Thistlereed is. --138.75.231.164 23:32, 3 September 2016 (UTC)
