Depends on the duration and if there are any drawbacks. It sounds a bit like mist form but Mist Form is utility and therefor completely optional. This is a weapon skill. Other attunements also have defensive weapon skills, but they just make you a bit tougher for a medium period of time. This makes you invulnerable so it will most likely not last long or have big drawbacks. Feels more like a forced panic button to me.199.245.34.11 10:13, 26 August 2011 (UTC)
I'd bet money that this won't last longer than 5 seconds, if even that long. Arshay Duskbrow 22:41, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
Plus I'm sure they'll make Obsidian Flame good enough to give you an incentive to drop the invulnerability. -User Eive Windgrace Harbinger of the Deceiver.png 23:37, 29 August 2011 (UTC)
I was talking with my boyfriend, we think it may be short (the 5s sounds believeable), and Obsidian Flame may possibly be more of a PBAoE instead of a direct target as it was in GW1. Sure, it's useful as a panic button, but its usefulness comes in allowing you to close in on many targets, completely invulnerable, allowing you to pull off other skills that require a bit of defense that you wouldn't otherwise have. Or, as for the Obsidian Flame, it probably will have a strong incentive to rip it off, like a decrease in dmg the longer you take to burn it away. ~~ User Kiomadoushi sig.png Kiomadoushi 01:42, 30 August 2011 (UTC)
This isn't a place for speculation, really. Mediggo 07:47, 30 August 2011 (UTC)

Guys, hate to disappoint, but I don't think Obsidian Flame exists: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=NiuNbqPWpEo#t=1136s

Obsidian Flesh=aura?[edit]

If Obsidian Flesh counts as an aura it would be very powerful. You could share 4 seconds of invulnerability to your allies with Powerful Aura. Compared to Renewed Focus which is an Elite Obsidian Flesh grants longer invulnerability, shorter cooldown and you can share it with allies if it counts as an aura.--Inoshiro 12:08, 12 May 2012 (UTC)

I'll test it on monday. Gnarf 12:33, 12 May 2012 (UTC)
Seems not to be the case. Gnarf 10:49, 15 May 2012 (UTC)
The earth aura is probably Magnetic Aura. ~Ekko (talk) 19:41, 27 June 2012 (UTC)
