It doesn't mean you just get money, lol, but yes, that you're from a rich/well-known family. --Naoroji User Naoroji Golem - Green.jpg 17:07, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Gentry is an old French term (genterie, from gentil-- "high-born, noble"). "Gentry in its widest connotation refers to people of good social position connected to the rural land estates including various ranks of nobility, clerical upper crust and "gentle" families of long descent who never obtained official rights to bear a coat of arms. In England the term often refers to the social class of the landed aristocracy or to the minor aristocracy, and whose income derives from their large landholdings and thus designates the more narrow definition." My guess is that in-game, this would provide you with quite a reputation... though that also may bring up more chance of having rivals. I wonder how it will play out. :3 --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 17:48, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
I would think of it as a higher class upbringing, and your family is higher class. Meaning you come from money, not nessisarily that you HAVE money. if that makes sense. It probably also affects how people treat you. Probably with more "Sir's Ma'am's instead of "Hey, you!" and it could also mean that you have your family's reputation to either uphold or overcome--Xerelin 18:03, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Overcome?Icyyy Blue User IcyyyBlue Elementalist Blue.png 06:34, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

As in... maybe your family has some dark secret, and it suddenly becomes known. You will have all that baggage to overcome and prove yourself trustworthy, truthful, etc despite the reputation. --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 12:30, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
they should give us more info on these! lol--Icyyy Blue User IcyyyBlue Elementalist Blue.png 12:59, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

starting clothes[edit]

Should I put "Starter clothes", "starter clothing", "starting clothes", or "starting clothing"? One way or another, it needs to be in each of these. :) 173.190.27.162 22:11, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Once we get more footage, we really should try to have every starter outfit here, that means:
female scholar- Noble, Female Scholar- Commoner, Female Scholar- Streets
Male Scholar- Noble, Male Scholar- Commoner, Male Scholar- Streets
Female Adventurer- Noble, Female Adventurer- Commoner, Female Adventurer- Streets
Male Adventurer- Noble, Male Adventurer- Commoner, Male Adventurer- Streets
Female Soldier- Noble, Female Soldier- Commoner, Female Soldier- Streets
Male Soldier- Noble, Male Soldier- Commoner, Male Soldier- Streets.
That's 18 images total, 6 on each page (Nobility, Commonfolk, and Streets). I know it's a rather "minor" detail, but it would still be nice to show, seeing as how it is a direct effect of choosing the social class. --AmannelleUser Amannelle Me.jpg 02:21, 1 December 2010 (UTC)
And it should have a default facial appearance too. Aqua (T|C) 05:32, 27 February 2011 (UTC)
