what's the source for this in regards to the unconfirmed necromancers? You stated video, what time(s)? possibly retract, I just woke up and realized there are more videos to watch Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 13:02, 18 August 2010 (UTC)

"Life force is gained by the deaths of nearby enemies or through certain skills such as Necrotic Bite and Locust Swarm."
Is there a confirmation that it's gained only by the death of enemies? It could also be triggered by the death of allies (I'm not saying it does, I'm just saying that's a possibility). Plus, Locust Swarm's description says it steals life, not life force. --217.129.133.230 13:42, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
If you feel you can improve the article, then go for it! (that was said in a friendly tone) ~ Bow User Bow Sig.png | 03:57, 24 August 2010 (UTC)
Nah, I'm currently satisfied enough to wait until Wednesday for the facts Venom20 User Venom20-icon-0602-sm-black.png 04:05, 24 August 2010 (UTC)

I just did some changes to the page, including adding the skills related to life force (since that was also made in all of the condition pages, and I thought it would also be useful here). If I did anything wrong (I hope not), feel free to change. --217.129.133.230 17:45, 29 August 2010 (UTC)

Just noticed that all other similar pages have a table of contents, is it also necessary in this small page? Also, the skills that increase life force do it in different ways: some steal health from enemies to transform it in life force, others only provide life force when some conditions are met (such as being attacked); some do it upon casting while others do it for a certain duration... is it worth splitting the "skills that increase life force" in different categories in the page? --217.129.133.230 17:52, 29 August 2010 (UTC)
Does the Life force bar slowly empty when you're not in combat? Or is it permanent until used for Death Shroud? 68.144.97.124 01:51, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Good question, and I'm actually not sure, but I think from the videos I saw it didn't deplete out of combat. I'll take another look. -- ķ̌yǾshĺ User Kyoshi sig.png 05:59, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, it doesn't look like it diminishes. -- ķ̌yǾshĺ User Kyoshi sig.png 06:01, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Righto, I was looking at it and the description for this page said "Life force naturally degenerates" so I thought the mechanic worked along the lines of Adrenaline. Lucky Necromancers that they don't have to worry about staying in battle to keep their killer Downed form energy. :D 68.144.97.124 06:40, 1 November 2010 (UTC)
Seems like it's referring to the degeneration while in death shroud. I clarified the page accordingly. -- ķ̌yǾshĺ User Kyoshi sig.png 13:32, 1 November 2010 (UTC)

Image?[edit]

Can someone get an image of the life force meter on this page, or of a skillbar showing it? It's the green bar above the weapon skills with Death Shroud to the right of it. I lack the knowledge/capacity to get a decent image from one of the videos. ~Ekko (talk) 22:04, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

I added Reaper's Precision and Gluttony to the traits. I think Soul Stealer and the putrid explosion trait should be removed? Ee 16:35, 29 February 2012 (UTC)

bug?[edit]

Not sure if it supposed to be like this or not, but about 2 days ago I started noticing that every time my necromancer loads in a new area, either by just entering the game, going through portals or using waypoints, my life force drops by a certain chunk each time. I've reported it, but again I'm not sure if this is a bug or something natural. Sorry if this is the wrong place for this.

Aside from the previous comment being unsigned, I, too, have noticed this happening. My life force bar drops by ~10-15% (it seems to vary) whenever I load into a new zone. Of course, it's possible that this is due to the fact that I'm getting sidekicked down, which means my lifeforce pool is itself smaller due to my lowered vitality, but that's only conjecture. Either way, if anyone else has noticed this and/or has a possible theory for its occurrence, I'd love to know. --User Timeoffire45 sig.jpg Timeoffire45 rawr 04:19, 8 May 2013 (UTC)

Amulets affect life force[edit]

Life Force is ALSO linked to stats. You can test this yourself by going into Heart of the Mists, getting some lifeforce, and then swapping between solider and rabit amulets. With Soldier, I have 67%. But after equipping Rabid, it's 86%! There is something here that needs to researched. Previously Unsigned 07:22, 4 September 2012 (UTC)

Which stats do those amulets affect? —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:44, 4 September 2012 (UTC)
I don't know. Can easily look it up here. I was just using the PvP amulets. Nothing else changed, the only thing I swapped in and out was the amulet and Lf changed each time. Previously Unsigned 13:32, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
I wasn't the only one: come to find out it's based on Vitality. [1] Previously Unsigned 09:38, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
As of the new big update and trait overhaul (June 23, 2015), the size of a necromancer's life force pool no longer seems to increase with vitality gains; I'm testing it in heart of the mists, can anyone else confirm? Knaive (talk) 02:47, 29 June 2015 (UTC)

life force value[edit]

I've been doing a little research into the actual value of the life force bar. I wanted to know how much damage death shroud could take. i created a primary hypothesis, and performed a test. i wanted to at least have something before i posted, and here's what i found.

testing with a single PVP knight's amulet, 1839 vitality and 1836 defense, getting hit a single time by a guardian. testing hits while out of death shroud hit: 800/797/798/782 activating death shroud for one second, took a single hit of 793. death shroud loses 4% per second. this was tested for 3 seconds prior to the test at 1839 vit, taking a total of 12%. this single hit took life force from 88% to 77%. there was a 4% loss from the life force natural degeneration. a hit of 793 took 7% off the death shroud.

793 = 7%

1% = 113.29 100% = 11329 life force

overall HP with 1839 vit = 27602

11329 = 41% 0f 27602

(11329/27602 = 0.410441)

under the same conditions, without the knights amulet. 916 vitality, 1836 defense. testing hits: 821/762/763/775 death shroud for one second took a single hit of 753. same test with 916 vit. 3 seconds of death shroud took 100% down to 88%. the hit + life force cost took life force down to 74%. 753 took 10% of death shroud.

753 = 10%

1% = 75.3 100% = 7530

overall HP with 916 vit = 18372

7530 = 41% of 18327

(7530/18327 = 0.410869)

this shows positive correlation that life force is equal to 41% of the HP pool. these were just inaccurate tests, but the results are very close, 0.0005(rounding) of a difference. would anyone be so kind as to verify these results. i hope this helps some. Lord Iris 02:52, 31 March 2013 (UTC)

Feedback 2021/02/21[edit]

The Eternal Life Trait isn't listed there, seems appropriate. --136.25.19.130 00:34, 22 February 2021 (UTC)

Added, thanks! --Imry 03:28, 22 February 2021 (UTC)
