Number 4[edit]

We know that this is not only a necromancer focus skill, but the fourth (#4, that is) necromancer focus skill. Should this be reflected in the article? — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 22:58, 3 Sep 2010 (UTC)

I think this will be reflected in the article once the skill boxes are decided. - Giant Nuker 23:55, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
Actually I think what Izzy meant by that is, that Life Blast's skill NUMBER on the bar is #4. This is clearly the case in videos. Of the first five skills, 1-3 are main hand weapon, 4-5 are offhand, and the focus is offhand equipment. Arshay Duskbrow 00:12, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
Necromancers have only 1 focus item which means it's one of the two focus skills available to the necromancer (since it's an offhand item 4,5 are its slots) --Majere User Majere II sig.jpg 00:50, 4 September 2010 (UTC)
"(#4, that is)" — Raine
I included this specifically to clarify that bit of ambiguity. ♥ — Raine Valen User Raine R.gif 1:31, 4 Sep 2010 (UTC)

Death Shroud[edit]

It looks like this skill is now skill 1 of death shroud.Headache 01:03, 18 August 2011 (UTC)

I moved it on the list of necromancer skills page along with deathly swarm to slot 4 of the focus and updated cooldown information (haven't added a new description yet though) Crucis 20:42, 20 August 2011 (UTC)

Do we know if this skill actually uses up life force? It is implied, but not quite stated. Clarification would be helpful.76.104.191.24 20:20, 27 March 2012 (UTC)

Underwater[edit]

Is there a reference for "When underwater, the damage doesn't scale, but it gives a condition to your enemy."? Is this the Plague Blast the trait refers to? If this is the case then the skill probably needs to be split between the land and water forms. ~Ao Allusir 12:19, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

I haven't tested for that specifically, so I don't know. What I do know is that underwater, only the first damage is listed, not both; it's still called Life Blast with the same icon, though. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 12:21, 3 July 2012 (UTC)

"dealing more damage the more life force you have"[edit]

Was playing around in the Mists and it looks like it simply uses the lower listed damage when you're under 50% life force, and uses the higher damage value when you're above 50%. There was some variance as would be expected on any skill, but the damage drops off sharply past the 50% mark. tanpopo 12:56, 20 October 2012 (UTC)

Weapon Damage without a Weapon[edit]

Looking at the weapon damage tooltip and my power ingame without any weapons equipped on a level 80 character in a level 80 zone, I found that if the skill uses ((weapon coefficient * power * weapon damage)/2600) = tooltip damage like other weapon skills, the character's life blast weapon damage (not tooltip damage) is roughly 691. I did this for both coefficients (1.0 and 1.4) and with various amounts of power with roughly the same results (rounded to 691 or 692). --Nicoli20 (talk) 11:45, 17 November 2014 (UTC)

Damage Inconsistency[edit]

This page says life blast deals 246 damage (coefficient 1.0). Life Rend claims to deal 242 damage (coefficient 0.6). 246/1.0 is nowhere close to 242/0.6, so unless I'm missing something, there must be a major error in at least one of those four numbers. --Felbryn (talk) 21:35, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
