Talk:Glyph of Renewal

I didn't test this skill, how does it work? Do you have to cast the glyph with an ally targeted to revive that ally based on your attunement? – Valento msg 02:04, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

Bugged?[edit]

The skill states that it "Revives" an ally. Per the Revival page, "Revival is the process of bringing a player or NPC back from a downed or defeated state.". Under the notes section we have the actual functionality recorded (only reviving from a downed state), but is this a note or a bug? It seems, based off the description alone, that either the effects are incorrect or the in-game description for the skill is incorrect. 192.168.104.79 19:39, 5 September 2012 (UTC) Kupek

I think it's more of an anomaly. It's obvious that the skill is meant for downed states only (otherwise it'd be significantly abused). feel free to mark it Rdm42 05:26, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

Able to revive non-revivable NPC's[edit]

I've found that Glyph of Renewal is capable of reviving dead NPC's, including Golems, that aren't revivable in the normal way. However, the NPC's resurrected this way will usually behave strangely. For example, during the defense mission on Claw Island where you are supposed to revive a quest NPC at the beach, if you revive her (?) using Glyph of Renewal while attuned to air, the NPC will not be revived but instead a completely different NPC will spawn at your location. In the story quest near Concordia Waypoint where you're supposed to help rescue the researchers, there are dead ally golems lying on the ground which aren't revivable by normal means, but using this Glyph will definitely revive them. Also, even though these golems are your allies, they will attack your other allies excluding Trahearne. --Teisei 「ページ」 「会話」 09:45, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Definately Bugged[edit]

Pretty much all of my friends have an elementalist; they're just alot of fun. However, NONE of the secondary effects of Glyph of Renewal proc for us! we have tested at least 20 times per attunement in different zones, at different ranges, and ensuring no obstructions. Only about 17 of the 80 attempts we made actually had their intended secondary effect. Most reliable seemed to be fire attunement, but it's utility is minimal. (across different players as well, both in and out of party)

I am aware that the ranger's Search and Rescue is the only ability which can revive a defeated player, that's not the bug here. The bug is that the Water/Wind/Earth effects almost never work! Please, I hope everyone who notices this will let Anet know, because it has been this way since release! if it's a % chance, then please add that to the tool tip at least! The Earth and Air effects work fine for me. When using the Earth version, note that only up to three players around you in a 600 radius will be revived. Anymore than three and anyone outside of the 600 radius will be unaffected. The Water effect doesn't work for me though, it will only revive them at 50% health rather than the 25% from normal revivals. --82.74.244.51 13:13, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Have you guys bothered to test while being in combat? Puk (talk) 04:47, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

Fail[edit]

Does anyone know if this skill can fail in the same way that Warbanner sometimes can? Puk (talk) 04:47, 26 January 2015 (UTC)

Clearly it can, someone has just added a note to that effect. I'm not going to remove it, because I'm done being an ass, but clearly if that wiki user reads this, please check out the last note on the Warbanner page. Puk (talk) 04:50, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
