Daily Bonus Amount[edit]

Is that per character or per account? 174.119.127.38 08:33, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Per character, I believe. 110.174.243.167 01:57, 12 January 2013 (UTC)

Fractal Relics from Boss Fractal[edit]

Now that it's possible to have a fractal reward level that is different from the fractal difficulty level, it is possible to complete a boss fractal with an odd-numbered reward level. That means there are some levels missing from the table that could be filled in if anyone has reliable data for them. --Felbryn 21:07, 5 March 2013 (UTC)

As far as I know that's unimportant, because if your own reward level is less than the current difficulty level, you get the reward for your own level. And as far as I observed it, it is just the amount of your last even reward level. So if you play 38 while being 33 you would receive the bonus amount of a 32 run. But maybe someone should check this to be sure because I just recall this from my memory. Kaede (talk) 21:13, 8 August 2013 (UTC)

total relics from 1 run[edit]

Any reason there's no table showing how much you get from a full run with 3 regular fractals plus the maw and the daily chest? I'd add one myself but I don't want to make the effort and then have someone remove it... Mist Y (talk) 17:48, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

You could put one together here on the talk page and if people think it's valuable, it will get added to the main article. 75.37.21.137 18:20, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
No real reason why there's not a table. It's possibly due to the fact that you'd need a 50 row table (possibly split up) and that we don't want to make assumptions about how people will be doing the fractals? Like, will they be sticking around to complete the bonus maw? Also, you'd need to have 2 columns in the table, the actual runs, and then the run with the bonus chest. If you have a nice, clean way of presenting this, go ahead. We don't shy away from all big tables (e.g. Critical damage), but it needs to be more complex math, usually. --JonTheMon (talk) 18:52, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
I was going to make the assumption that people are doing a full run and getting the daily chest - if they're doing anything different they can work it out for themselves. Mist Y (talk) 21:31, 20 June 2013 (UTC)
Well I made a table and yeah it's kinda big; I'll leave it to someone else to decide if it's useful information and maybe edit it. If the information in the other tables is correct, so is this:

Mist Y (talk) 22:20, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

Uh, at the very least, a lot of your numbers are off, especially for the odds, since you don't get Jade maw or the bonus chest for Odd levels. --JonTheMon (talk) 05:34, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
You can do the bonus fractal while your personal reward level is odd by joining a group playing any even level higher than your personal level, so talking about bonus fractal rewards for odd fractal difficulties is valid. --Felbryn (talk) 17:29, 23 June 2013 (UTC)
Exactly. So what makes you think any of the other numbers are off? If any of the numbers in my table are incorrect, so are the basic ones that are already on the page - all I did was add up the numbers. Mist Y (talk) 22:27, 24 June 2013 (UTC)

(re-indent)

Here's the data copied from the existing tables on the main article. It's Mist Y's table expanded, to make the math easier to follow. It has one row per personal level and one column for each source. I think the only difference with Mist Y's table is that "41-45" should be "42-45". From the discussion above, it's clear that there would need to be notes explaining that the characters personal level might be odd or even, but that the instance level must be even and this also assumes completing all four fractals.

I'm in favor of adding it as a collapsed table, as long as it includes the relevant notes. 75.36.176.4 00:59, 29 June 2013 (UTC)

Proposed Change to Acquisition[edit]

Reasons for each change:

  • live section doesn't include totals per level -- adding it up every time is annoying.
  • live section nomenclature isn't precisely uniform between lead-in description and table headings.
  • live section doesn't include a warning/bug-note about the delay between maw & daily rewards.

Reasons I didn't edit the main page:

  • Bug note needs confirmation and might be considered an "anomaly" or "warning". I'd prefer to verify via someone's accidental mistake than to test it deliberately.
  • Totals might have errors. I think it's OK, but it would be nice if someone else could verify correctness.
  • Total table sticks out a fair bit. I'd rather have the data, but the visual esthetics might warrant a trial.

If these issues don't bother you (either because you checked or just because) and you like the proposed section, feel free to drop it into main. Or, comment here and I'll probably read it eventually and edit it in or move it to my personal page so it's not lost and I can use it when needed.

Acquisition[edit]

Relics only come from specific chests. Daily bonus is a right-side clickable chest icon like other daily-limited rewards. All other chests appear in fixed locations on the ground:

  • Shard boss chest -- awarded after slaying the final boss for each shard. There are three shards for odd difficulty levels, four for evens.
  • Jade Maw chest -- awarded after slaying the Jade Maw in the fourth shard. Relic count differs from regular shard boss chests.
  • Daily bonus chest -- awarded after completing Jade Maw. Each reward decade (1-9, 10-19, ...) is available once per day, per account.
There is a long delay between completing Jade Maw and daily reward. Exiting Jade Maw too soon voids the daily reward.

Relics per Fractal[edit]

Relics earned vary by personal reward level and shard, with personal reward level being the lesser of the character's reward level and the group's difficulty level. Group difficulty determines presence of the Jade Maw shard and Daily Bonus chests; eg. a character with reward level 21 running group difficulty 22 has a personal reward level of 21, but will still receive Jade Maw and Daily Bonus chests.

NB: you can receive multiple daily rewards every day: one for each personal reward decade. Maximize daily relics by running 8, 18, 28, 38, etc. -- limited by your character's reward level. Starting high and proceeding down the decades maximizes gains (relics and progression) when not running all available decades.

Tables are by personal reward level. Totals assume even group difficulty; ie. 3 shards, maw, and daily chests.

Table as a single collapsing version. I like the single table best. For non-collapsing, the top row header line can be removed (the hide/show screws up the Daily column otherwise).

Fractal Relics Reward Changed[edit]

The rewards per fractal changed when the personal reward was introduced, along with the Fractured update. Now, you get the same relics per chest in all four fragments (Jade Maw boss is no different!) and the reward level mechanics have changed. I updated the main page to resolve these issues, and made it a single table showing totals, with and without the pristine relic used up.

Wallet description[edit]

When viewing your currency wallet, hovering over the Fractal Relics box says "Earned and spent in Fractals of the Mists. Also used as a crafting ingredient."

Where can I find what recipes they are used for? Daddicus (talk)

HoT Updates[edit]

I updated the table because now there is no boss fractal bonus chest. There are still rewards for dailys, but I don't know if those should be on the table. 128.113.153.162 22:18, 4 December 2015 (UTC)

Is this page still out of date? It seems like there's been a bit of work to update it. Should the notice be taken down? -Darqam (talk) 13:58, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

I think that's pretty much it. —Ventriloquist 18:01, 18 March 2016 (UTC)

Feedback 2017/04/13[edit]

Would love for the vendor table cost column to be standardized, so that some of the items does not list the cost for in a different order than all the other item.

Acquisition[edit]

Disclaimer: I'm new to wiki stuff and I didn't feel confident to actually edit the site. I hope this is the correct place for this.

Under Acquisition the Tyrian Exchange Vouchers should be listed as they grant 100 relics. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Refract (talk) at 11:54, 31 March 2023‎ (UTC).

The Tyrian Excange Voucher rewards the item 100 Fractal Relics which then contains 100 individual relics (already listed). —Kvothe (talk) 12:16, 31 March 2023 (UTC)
That's the infamous Voucher, which does not give you the currency directly but instead another item which contains the currency. Classic Anet, container in a container. I added it under Other in Acquisition though, as some other pages already list it like that, to make the source more clear. ~Sime 18:24, 2 April 2023 (UTC)
