Talk:Fields of Ruin

The locations section of the page is going over the top of another section. I'd fix it myself, but I'm not sure how to fix it. Could a kind soul take care of it please. Thanks :-) Varuuth 05:42, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Not sure what you're referring to. The locations section is not overlapping with another. Konig/talk 12:28, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Crafting stations?[edit]

There are several crafting stations in Stronghold of Ebonhawke. They are not visible on the map with the usual icons, but they function correctly. They are all to the immediate east of the bank and trading vendors. Present are (in order west to east):

I'm not sure how to record them, however, so I'm asking here first. Daddicus 05:54, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

There's a burning Hearth in the NE corner of Mithric Cliffs area which is also a Chef crafting station.--BramStoker (talk, contribs) 23:18, 18 March 2013 (UTC)

Why remove the vista link?[edit]

Is there some rule against posting links to external sites? This is yet another removed link to a potentially useful tool. This is also the second time I've asked. Daddicus 02:10, 26 November 2012 (UTC)

Same as YouTube video links, people will just add/replace their guide so that they can make money off of it, and it's a pain to police. The person who posted that link has done nothing for the wiki but add links to their site, including some that are completely inappropriate grabs for views, like a Rata Sum vista guide on the Vista page. We have a list of third party sites, it's totally fine with me if that site is described as having vista guides or something there, but allowing any link on any page, no matter how useful, is not something I can support. The wiki isn't an advertising space. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 02:55, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
That sounds interesting, but I don't understand from where comes the authority to make such decisions.
There are pages of rules, best practices, etc. I asked you to reference one because I want to learn if there are restrictions of which I am not aware. I would rather avoid unnecessary revert wars. After all, I know that you are at least my equal here (since I'm about as low on the totem pole as one can go :)). So, I'm quite willing to listen and learn.
On the other hand, if this discussion (about external links) has not already taken place, now seems like a good time, but I doubt this page is the right place. You may be quite correct, but it would seem that some guidelines need to be stated. Alternately, there might be a better place for such links. And, there are probably even more ideas out there, some better than my chicken scratching. ;) Daddicus 04:30, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
It's taken place at least 5 times, mainly on individual pages, like here (why did you post here? I removed at least 10 of his links today, and this is another example of this conversation taking place in an out of the way place that no one's going to see), which makes it a huge pain to try to find. It's also taken place in dozens of edit summaries, which you can't search for. Here is a recent discussion in community portal. Here is a notable example. Should be a bunch here, you can sort through them if you wish. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 04:55, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Sounds interesting. Where SHOULD that discussion take place? Because I want links to videos to exist in some form. There are some vistas and most jumping puzzles (already addressed?) that really require a video to solve. So, I would like to see links to legitimate sites allowed. Where should I take that discussion so it becomes part of the permanent record? Daddicus 23:57, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Community Portal for wiki-wide issues, I suppose. Manifold User Manifold Neptune.jpg 00:04, 27 November 2012 (UTC)
Jumping puzzles are allowed youtube links, iirc, but vistas - even the more complex ones - can easily be denoted by edited map images, ala this one (though note that the breadcrumbs on this image is less than ideal). Konig/talk 01:01, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

Music[edit]

Does anyone know anything about the music that plays in Fields of Ruin? The composer or name of the song or anything? It is, by far, my favorite soundtrack in the whole game. --Wisdawn (talk) 09:26, 6 December 2014 (UTC)

Trait Quests[edit]

Has it been considered to include a list of quests/activities that will reward profession Traits? There's about 975, no? Someone might consider, "As long as I'm here, what Traits could I pick up for this {profession} of mine?" I've been mapping out a few that I am interested in. --Gold Recluse (talk) 01:08, 19 March 2015 (UTC)
