Aren't Ventari and Nomad the same stat combos? Why list two different kinds of recipes? Vili 点 User talk:Vili 23:02, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Because Nomad's refer to the exotic weapon sheets while Ventari's refers to the Ascended armor ones. --Ventriloquist (talk) 23:09, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

Some Questions[edit]

To answer your first question, yes, they drop. I got one just yesterday. --Ventriloquist 20:56, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
Just to double-check. The OP meant to ask specifically if they dropped from the Prospect Valley -area. That's where you got it from Ventriloquist? Titus The Third User titus the third.png 11:56, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes, the one right under the Jumping Puzzle. --Ventriloquist 17:13, 21 July 2014 (UTC)
Yes, I've seen a chest. But not a Buried Locked Chest though. There's a (normal) chest if you climb up the weird mountain on the south side. Start from the west of the cave, and climb up while moving east. Titus The Third User titus the third.png 19:49, 20 July 2014 (UTC)
I doubt there'd be one. The boxes are from the Zephyrite ships, they couldn't have fallen inside. (Also there is no storm taking place in the cavern.) --Sialor (talk) 12:18, 24 July 2014 (UTC)

Locations[edit]

This site: http://gw2timer.com/?page=Map&section=Collectible shows over 100 known chest spawn locations. Separ (talk) 22:13, 30 August 2014 (UTC)

Feedback 2016/08/25[edit]

"Chests can be easily found by pressing the key for Show Enemy Names, which by default is Left Ctrl" this is unnecessary now with the "Show All Usable Object Names" option! --69.251.67.104 15:26, 25 August 2016 (UTC)

Gather vs. Contained[edit]

Is there some reason this(and Lost Bandit Chest) has "gathered" instead of "contained in"? Seems a little odd. - Doodleplex 03:14, 3 January 2017 (UTC)

They aren't containers, so I imagine that's why it uses "gather" instead. Airship Cargo, Exalted Chest, and Crystallized Supply Cache use "gather" as well --Gimmethegepgun (talk) 06:08, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Also, using 'contained in' would result in a blank icon for such objects (because they're not items/containers). I created the 'gathered from' template for resource nodes, but it got expanded to chests and similar objects, which is neat. —Ventriloquist 16:23, 3 January 2017 (UTC)
Okay, so can I use {{gathered from}} for stuff like Recipe: Feast of Roasted Cactus since that's it's only source? - Doodleplex 03:16, 4 January 2017 (UTC)
Not really, if we are using this for all objects the template should be named {{Has object source}} or something. We can differentiate between objects by the object type.--Relyk ~ talk < 05:08, 4 January 2017 (UTC)

Ambrite Orichalcum jewelry recipes[edit]

I noticed that the recipe pages for Recipe: Ambrite Orichalcum Amulet, Recipe: Ambrite Orichalcum Earring, and Recipe: Ambrite Orichalcum Ring currently have no acquisition method given. Don't these drop from Buried Locked Chests, and therefore shouldn't they be added to the content list? ~Mervil User Mervil Sig.png 03:30, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Since no one listed them on this article, we can't know that for sure. If you had one drop for you, you can add it here, and subsequently on the recipe article as well. —Ventriloquist 09:24, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

Quantity[edit]

We know that there are a little more than 100 possible location but not all of them contain a chest in a certain Sadstorm, so my question is: "Of those ~100 locations, how many chests are found in each Sandstorm?" 95.246.22.2 16:08, 3 October 2018 (UTC)

I've found in a few runs through that there are about 25 at any given time during a sandstorm. I know this is a little late to answer your q but it's still not recorded anywhere.~Miss Lana (talk) 05:21, 26 November 2019 (UTC)

Are there any collections that require opening these chests?[edit]

Are there any special drops while a collection is active? --161.142.215.84 19:20, 25 November 2019 (UTC)

I believe there are 2 legendary collections which require opening these chests. I've added them to the article. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 20:32, 25 November 2019 (UTC)
The Ambrite Weapon Collection can only be completed by opening these chests as each weapon requires an Unidentified Fossilized Insect which only drops here. Not sure if it should be mentioned on the page. 81.241.100.158 14:42, 28 August 2020 (UTC)

Obsidian Shards "guaranteed"[edit]

This article currently uses the Gather template to say "Obsidian Shard (1-5, 10) (guaranteed)". But Obsidian Shards are by no means guaranteed from these chest. I just opened 15 and received a single shard once, two shards once, and zero shards 13 times. Is this simply an error, or is the article trying to unclearly say "Guaranteed one of the following" from the seven items also marked as guaranteed? At face value with how the article is currently, this would seem to indicate that you receive at least one of each of the things on this list with every chest opening. -- Dashface User Dashface.png 05:08, 23 September 2022 (UTC)

It's likely an error. I've moved the obsidian shards down to the chance section. It's possible some of the other "guaranteed" items may also be wrong. --BuffsEverywhere (talk) 05:28, 23 September 2022 (UTC)
