Extended Edit Notes[edit]

Capitalized B in Branded to clarify this is a creature type as opposed to a mere adjective. Rephrased certain things such as "All branded reside within the Dragonbrand" to better fit what we know for certain, as we've not received word either way whether the Branded have the capability to leave the Dragonbrand. Brought links up to date. Darke 11:57, 17 January 2011 (UTC)

As races, the creature types are not capitalized either, but someone wiser should comment on this matter. In my opinion it should be changed back. 91.82.24.174 12:31, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
We *should* treat these as the other races/species and not capitalize it. This will change the second GW2 is released and every mention of the branded is capitalized (very unlikely). - Infinite - talk 12:59, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
I'd tend to agree, however I took inspiration from pages such as Greater Earth Elemental, and to a lesser extent, seeing Branded as not just a description of the creature, but as also a sort of "nationality" or "title"; First-born Sylvari, Krytan Town Guard, Tribune Brimstone; "He was a First-born Sylvari. He became one of the Branded." Darke 18:15, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
I understand the logic behind that, but you also used a flawed argument to back it up (not your fault, the page in question also requires alteration. Sylvari is lowercase. Krytan Town Guard would be an NPC and thus its name is copied directly, if not, it's "Krytan town guard". Tribune Brimstone is a rank + name and are therefore capitalized. Sylvari and Branded follow the same rules and are thus formatted as "sylvari" and "branded" respectively. I hope that clears things up. - Infinite - talk 18:43, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Regarding the capitalization of branded - it's the same situation as icebrood and destroyers (they are both created or corrupted creatures), which are always lowercase in the books. The term "branded" isn't used in either book, however, but I don't think there'd be a difference - especially to "icebrood." -- Konig/talk 19:29, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Oh, and branded can leave the Dragonbrand - according to Edge of Destiny. -- Konig/talk 19:30, 17 January 2011 (UTC)
Can you elaborate more on this? I can't seem to find any information about it in relation to the Edge of Destiny or any mention of branded 'leaving'. --Irrell 02:52, 21 January 2013 (UTC)
Given that it was just over a year ago, I'm going to assume I meant when the branded attacked Ebonhawke - which very clearly wasn't corrupted. And even then, in Fields of Ruin, you have the Sentinel's duty to keep the Branded contained within the Dragonbrand (there's a group event where a giant branded devourer leaves the Dragonbrand and you have to kill it - though it doesn't do much if you don't). Defending?[edit]

Their primary purpose appears to be defending the Dragonbrand

Do we have a reference for that? As far as I remember they either don't much like to leave the brand or are mostly found there. Their location coupled with a natural aggresiveness, they attack people who stray onto the brand - but that doesn't mean they are deliberately defending it. Thering 02:39, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Ghosts of Ascalon. The branded creature only appears (from the ground) once the group enter the region. It was explicitly stated to have risen in defense of the Dragonbrand (i.e., to kill the intruders). -- Konig/talk 08:19, 26 March 2011 (UTC)

Tiberian lifeforms[edit]

They look like a canis tiberius and a ripuarius to me. Waiting for viceroids62.159.14.62 07:40, 11 April 2012 (UTC)
