anticipating an object named book?--Relyk 22:11, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

I think there actually is one. It was named this rather than the original IP-made one of "Books of lore" (if I remember correctly and there isn't an object named "Book" then it can be moved, but I'm fairly sure I recall one from the BWEs). Konig/talk 23:01, 18 October 2012 (UTC)

Reworking page[edit]

I am thinking of reworking this page some. I see 3 types of books, ones that only have titles, ones that you can read, and a few you can equip or otherwise use. I can handle most of the fixes except for the long typed in list at the end which I think is all books with titles only. I was looking for some idea for this list. I don't think we needs to make pages for each of these, maybe just need a new seperate page for this list? Some-one took a lot of time with this and I don't want to screw that up.Yoe Dude 19:57, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

I have no clue what to do with the list at the bottom of this page, and I am open to suggestions. Yoe Dude 15:54, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
The list is meant to be for the books that "only have titles" - that is, books known to exist in lore but nothing else is known other than possibly a description of its contents. Those you can read are all placed within Category:Books thus a link to that suffices there. As it stands, I see no reason to alter that list.
The third type of books is where the problem comes in, and best I see the best solution would be a second list (perhaps on top since that'd be more interesting to people) for book weapons/armor (there are some focuses and trinkets which are books/scrolls as well as those back pieces), and in the same section made for that list, a short description. Lore is a secondary category, most of the books in the category are objects. I don't mind handling it this way but the object infobox is used to add the lore category rather than a case-by-case basis. This practice is limited to the object infobox, because we don't have the same luxury with the location infobox or equipment infobox. This is obvious because the equipment pages considered books aren't in the books category. I don't think we want to either because whether the item contributes to lore is subjective.--Relyk ~ talk > 01:17, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
All item books hold as much lore as the non-readable books. It's just a name of a book that exists in the world of Guild Wars. Some of the backpacks hold some lore behind them - such as Tome of the Rubicon and Book of Secrets, but not much beyond that. Koss on Koss is in both cases - a book mentioned on Book Carts (like most of the non-readable books), as well as a back piece. Konig/talk 01:51, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok here's my idea... 1 or 2 paragraphs for description. I don't think we would need to do anything about the "backpack" books as far as their pages and categories go, but a description and example should be made called "Trinket Books"? Bookcart will need an area and this may solve my bottom list problems. I thought I read a crafting recipe book, if I find a few of these, or if we think there may be more in the future, they may need description and example. Ending it all with readable books. We might also wish to change the main image, the current is just one I linked. I was not thinking of starting this tonight, thanks for all the input guys. Yoe Dude 02:01, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
This is my final edit on this page, please check and comment, I may work some on the book cart page and have not checked each listed book on the bottom list. Yoe Dude 23:20, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Ok, that wasn't really the point of my comment but as you will.--Relyk ~ talk > 23:40, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
I dislike the current design. Firstly, Book (Book Cart) implies there's something called that. And I see no reason why this cannot be part of Book. There's no point in the separation. Secondly, the first sentence of this sounds silly - I think everyone knows what a book is... Konig/talk 01:23, 4 February 2013 (UTC)
Fixed. --The preceding unsigned comment was added by 67.184.248.43 (talk).
I presume the above IP is Yoe, in which I didn't mean to revert everything. Simply having re-added the original list and rework the first sentence would have done. Konig/talk 04:00, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

Echoes of the Past changes[edit]

Echoes of the Past has added several new titles, and provided text for many of the books currently listed as unreadable. The Book template auto-updates the list of Interactive Books, but the list of book titles will need some changes. I've added text for as many as I have time for at the moment; if anyone wants to finish adding the the text of the new books, I have the raw text here. It's OCR'd from screenshots, though, so many of them will need heavy editing. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 23:47, 5 November 2014 (UTC)

All of the book text has been added, so the file in the previous comment has been removed. --User mrsmiles tinysmile.png MrSmiles 13:20, 7 November 2014 (UTC)

Missing Books[edit]

All of the books from Zinn's Printomatic in Tangled Depths need to be added to this page.

Similarly, the books from One Path Ends also need to be added.

(I'd do it myself but I suck at properly editing. 122.56.232.15 03:25, 4 September 2017 (UTC)

Doodle grabbed the ones from PoF, and Zinn's Study Guide is listed under Equipment. Thanks for pointing these out! G R E E N E R 18:03, 18 September 2017 (UTC)
