-= "Party Like It's 1999" =-[edit]

I'm so glad that I'm the first to post this =D All palyers start with 10,000 health in Belcher's Bluff. The loss of health if you simply drink and take dmg is in this progression : 10,000 > 8,001 > 6,002 > 4,003 > 2004 > 5 So my achievement-farming partner casually stated that he noticed it is damaging us for "1999". We both thought it was a weird number for a programmer to consciously input into that damage field. Then it popped right into my head: "Party like its 1999" by Prince. Its a homage/tribute to the legendary pop song. Just another brilliant gem that so very few players will notice or appreciate. Its just fun to make that little connection with people with little things like that; especially cool if you are a Prince fan or just love that song. Like my favorites being references to movies i love. So many developers at Arenanet have similar movie interests to me :D --SiderFace (talk) 03:05, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Skill Unlocks[edit]

It should probably be noted that the skill unlocks are per character and not per account. -Risa 173.25.199.251 12:11, 10 July 2013 (UTC)

Strategy - on NPC articles or main?[edit]

Would it be alright to move the strategy section to the respective pages of their NPCs? This will allow people to read the whole article without spoiling the tactics for each fight. --Terzaerian (talk) 23:14, 13 July 2013 (UTC)

Sure, but I would leave a hint where to find the stratagy, when not here. - Yandere Talk to me... 23:29, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
No, just don't read the strategy section. Putting it on the NPC pages makes it harder to find.--Relyk ~ talk < 23:32, 13 July 2013 (UTC)
I'm not as sure - I think most people running up against a wall contesting these masters are going to be inclined to search for the NPC itself first, and then the Belcher's Bluff article. Another issue are the skill tables on the NPC pages - are they really necessary? It would make more sense to me to just include a link and icon for the skill that they use / that you gain - the rest are the same between all of them and are already covered on the main page here. --Terzaerian (talk) 08:04, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
It's not that useful on the NPC page because then you're missing the rest of the information about the activity and have to check the activity page anyways. Most strategies will be pointing at specific skills, which are all displayed on the activity page. That's also why we don't need skill tables on the NPC pages, it's all the same skills (and technically given by the effect, the NPCs don't have the skills normally). The Signature Move is notable on the NPC page, but any strategy involving the activity against the NPC should be on the activity page.--Relyk ~ talk < 10:14, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Rejuvenation booster[edit]

The 7-11 nerf made it so that food regen buffs would get removed, but at some point after that someone re-added a suggestion to use the Rejuvenation Booster into the article. Are Rejuv boosters really still working or was this editor mistaken? --Terzaerian (talk) 19:54, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

Rejuvenation Boosters still work.--Relyk ~ talk < 20:56, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
They don't anymore, don't know when it changed, though. Kaspar < 14:43, 05 June 2014

Requesting help with table for character quotes[edit]

I set up a basic table to list what different races can say when you use a signature move and was wondering if anyone could help me improve it. Does anyone know how to make the background for each section of quotes match that individual race's color? Ex: the quotes for Humans are in a light orange box, the quotes for Asura are in a light purple box, etc. --Somohexual (talk) 20:54, 14 July 2013 (UTC)

{{character quote}} seems suitable for this--Relyk ~ talk < 20:57, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Every signature move seems to have its own set of phrases... Oh boy that documentation work O_o - Yandere Talk to me... 23:08, 14 July 2013 (UTC)
Should be a character quote table on each skill page then.--Relyk ~ talk < 00:49, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
Yeah it should obviously the victory quote can stay on this page but the rest should move. - Yandere Talk to me... 01:43, 15 July 2013 (UTC)
I added a bunch of lines from abilities from Norn males, females, and Charr males, but I don't have anymore characters of other races or genders atm. Missing: Back in my Day (H:M), For Science (almost all), Woo (about half), Spirits Vision (most), Critique (about half), and Boast (Sy:M, C:F) --Terzaerian (talk) 08:30, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Client Crashes[edit]

I was doing the achievement with a friend and we found every so often on the last drink of the game one of the clients participating would crash. You would still get credit for the game though which was nice. V3nni3 (talk) 02:05, 18 July 2013 (UTC)

Bug?[edit]

While trying to drink the Norn Adnul Irongut under the table, I noticed the tooltips for Drink and Water seem to be incorrect. I have the Woo, Back in My Day, Boost, and For Science achievements. Also, when belched on while drinking water, I take 5% damage instead of just negating healing. Richardhendricks (talk) 06:09, 21 July 2013 (UTC)

Critique on Norn[edit]

Why does the guide suggest using this when you cant unlock critique until you beat the master, which requires beating the other 5 which includes the norn..,66.58.180.73 09:44, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

wont let me delete it but i was getting the names mixed up. 66.58.180.73 10:00, 25 October 2013 (UTC)

How to unlock Signature moves?[edit]

I've beat Beldri twice, but still haven't gotten his skill, and neither does the achievement update. How did other players unlock theirs? -- 06:02, 20 April 2018 (UTC)

There's a bug note on the article stating that you can't currently obtain signature moves. --Idris (talk) 07:46, 20 April 2018 (UTC)
Looks like they fixed the bug today! Give it another go; you should be able to unlock signature moves now. :) --Idris (talk) 12:29, 25 April 2018 (UTC)
