Talk:Bad Blood

This is easily the worst mission ever for Guild Wars. Just keep trying and dying until you hit a random time window during which the wind doesn't blow you into the abyss. That's all there is to it: Keep trying and maybe you will make it. What the heck were they thinking? This is called "fun"??? Daddicus 22:11, 8 September 2012 (UTC)

No, you have to watch the flags to see when the wind gusts, then practice your timing to run between the gusts. It's actually pretty easy. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 01:23, 9 September 2012 (UTC)

I was blown off while I was behind a wall. And it keeps getting me stuck, and I have to exit to a waypoint, then enter again. Two loading screens every time the crappy quest glitches. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 99.65.176.61 (talk) at 05:11, 11 September 2012 (UTC).

Easy? Yeah right...PalkiaX50 21:49, 12 September 2012 (UTC)

The first windy section is doable with effort. I find the second section very difficult even when watching the blowing flags. I think it was a bad idea to make part of the personal story this difficult. Vogon Poet 17:46, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

I agree completely. I was blown off from behind walls, i had several actual deaths with gear damage & that last part is very hard to time correctly. Way too much luck involved here. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.168.104.83 (talk) at 04:58, 19 September 2012 (UTC).

At 17 FPS this is not doable. They should have tested this with intelligence. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 98.237.67.107 (talk) at 00:48, 23 September 2012 (UTC).

I have to agree, this is the worst quest ever. I can't believe this is holding up my personal progress. It seems badly bugged:

  • I have fallen behind the first section and gotten stuck several times (had to TP to a waypoint)
  • I have been knocked to the side of the wall multiple times, where there is no way to get back to the top, so I have to suicide or TP
  • Once so far I got knocked down, but not off, on the second platform - and it teleported me outside as if I'd been injured anyway!

I wish I could go back and choose a different path (i.e., the Vigil or the other one). 173.71.197.45 02:45, 23 September 2012 (UTC)

I"m not sure if this is really worthy of note, but if you have trouble with the last fight with Steag Frostbeard and Havram Girthbinder and have a long ranged weapon, you can stand on the stairs and take potshots at them (I was using a rifle as engineer). They don't move at all. This is probably a bug. Quazarjim 06:51, 26 September 2012 (UTC)

Bug. This part of the quest can sometimes be bugged. One of my characters has just dispatched Havram Girthbinder after Steag Frostbeard escaped, but cannot complete the quest by talking to Magister Sieran because she is stuck in an animation where she continually recasts some water-based nuke at the spot where Havram used to be. I've waited some 15-20 minutes in case her fight times out, but there's no change, so I guess I'll have to restart it. She's at the very bottom of the stairs, in case that's related to the problem. The green star is over her head, but she responds only with her usual smalltalk, "Welcome", "Greetings", and so on. Morgaine 11:57, 6 December 2012 (UTC)
On repeating the quest, this time I ran into the room instead of firing from the stairs, and Sieran came into the room with me. When Havram was defeated, Sieran stopped her combat and offered the correct dialogue to allow completion of the quest. I'm not certain that running into the room will avoid the bug every time, but it worked for me. If you find jumping across the wind-swept chasm hard then you might as well run into the room in case it helps you avoid needing a repeat. Morgaine 12:24, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

"The quest requires you to complete a minor jumping puzzle, although there are alternatives should you have trouble." could someone elaborate? There's no alternatives I could find. You HAVE to do the "minor"? jumping puzzle. I had to look through several youtube videos to find out how to get through it, and none had an alternative. (And they wonder why some folks don't like jumping puzzles.) --Enda - talk 03:23, 19 January 2013 (UTC)
