Daily schedule research[edit]

Please add the times you see ingame to the table below. Be sure to include your own timezone, which you can see on the clock at the top of the page.

When adding the UTC time, using the {{UTC time}} template allows to check if the conversion is correct, when looking at lines in your timezone both times should be the exact same.

Automated Tournament FAQ[edit]

Hi,

I just thought I'd drop this link here in case people interested in updatign this article didn't see it: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/pvp/Automated-Tournaments-FAQ/first#post6624278

Schedule[edit]

About all the daily ATs schedule - isn't it supposed to be a shifting one; allowing all time zones to participate properly? I think just information of 3 daily ATs w/o schedule should be enough. We could track their timing and check if there is a some kind of rotation, tho. ChaliElle (talk) 20:49, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

I definitely think it will be a good idea to keep a note of the schedule; players may want to refer to the wiki to see when ATs are going to be up. Once we've documented the full rotation, it should be fairly easy to create an automatically updating table of times, akin to the timer on day and night. Current times as of my writing this:
Grenth: 22/06/17 @ 23:15 (1 hour from now)
Melundru: 23/06/17 @ 08:15 (10 hours from now)
Balthazar: currently active, reopens at 23/06/17 @ 20:00 (21 hours from now)
These are the times as they appear in-game, they appear to be in my timezone, BST (UTC+1). --Idris (talk) 21:01, 22 June 2017 (UTC)
Tried to put the UTC template for the daily tournaments but got too confused with time zones and the information I was seeing. Right now wiki states
"events are in Server Time"
Balthazar's Brawl - 2:15 PM
Grenth's Game - 6:15 PM
Melandru's Matchup - 3:15 AM
But this is what I see in game right now (23:00 local time, 2:00 UTC)
Grenth's Game "Reopens in 3 hours" - "Friday, June 23, 2017 at 3:15 AM" (which is actually more like 4 hours) should be Friday 6:15 UTC -> Friday 6:15
Melandru's Matchup "Reopens in 11 hours" - "Friday, June 23, 2017 at 11:15 AM" (actually 12 hours) should be Friday 14:15 UTC -> Friday 14:15
Balthazar's Brawl "Reopens in 18 hours" - "Friday, June 23, 2017 at 6:15 PM" (actually 17 hours) should be Friday 21:15 UTC -> Friday 21:15
First thing I notice is that the 'reopens in x hours' is a little wonky, or the times on the right panel are wrong by one hour.
Second thing is that the times I'm seeing do not match at all with what is in the wiki, so I dared not do any change ... Are the times in the wiki really Server Time? Shouldn't that be UTC?
Maybe the wiki has the previous day tournament times, and each day they really are different? If that's the case we should document the day and not only the hour for each one, until we can get a grip on the rotation --KillerRabbit.1946 (talk) 02:20, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
I'm unclear on timezones, as well. Server time is UTC. But the times I see ingame appear to be UTC+1, which is my timezone (UK player, EU server). The "x hours" part can be misleading, as it rounds down -- for example, it'll say "3 hours" when it really means "3 hours and 55 minutes". I agree that more documentation is needed before we put any times in the article, so I've removed it, and added a research section to the top of this talk page. --Idris (talk) 03:09, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
I think it's also important to note that "reopening" time is the moment when teams can enroll to tournament, which is AFAIK 15 minutes before actual tournament start. ChaliElle (talk) 09:44, 23 June 2017 (UTC)
Good catch. That seems to explain why one of my times says x:00 instead of x:15; there was a tournament in progress at the time. --Idris (talk) 02:48, 24 June 2017 (UTC)
The repeating pattern seems to be: Grenth = 7 hours after Balthazar, Melandru = 8 hours after Grenth, Balthazar = 8 hours after Melandru. So if Grenth starts at 02:15 one day, Melandru will be 10:15, Balthazar will be 18:15, and the next Grenth will be 01:15 (23 hours after the previous Grenth; or one hour earlier the next day.) Pick whatever timezone you like; this 23-hour pattern remains constant and shifts all the tournaments back an hour each day.
