ST8 and Rare versions of Dungeon Armor[edit]

I started taking screenshots of the rare versions of the dungeon armor (the non-exotic ones) in Lion's Arch, but I then realized that it looked like they all had the same skins and icons but with different names based on their respective dungeon. Can anyone confirm this? -CrazyRabidSquirrel 03:39, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

This is the case for me as well. It seems every armor set got replaced with the Ascalon Catacombs skin at some point between BW3 and release. Don't know if this is intentional or a bug, and if this occurs just in equipment preview or for the purchased versions as well. 96.39.120.89 02:43, 6 September 2012 (UTC)
I'm gonna go check it tonight, take screenshots, and see if I can't find some of those icons from the client file. -CrazyRabidSquirrel 02:48, 6 September 2012 (UTC)

Other Sets / Crafting Sets[edit]

I think it would be a good idea to split the other category into crafting and the rest (as other). Because every tier of crafting armor (six tiers each discipline) has its own skin; armors made from intricate insignias (there recipes could be bought from the master craftsmen) also seem to have an own skin and then there are the unique armors which recipes could be bought from karma vendors. Because of this system the tables should be split for each discipline. The rows define the base crafting material and the columns could be categorized like: standard | intricate | unique. Just my two cents. Greets. 79.244.81.31 03:00, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

More information on non super expensive armors[edit]

Such as sets you can get in Kessex Hills, like Seraph-Issued where there are multiple karma venders you need to go to complete the full set. Previously Unsigned 15:01, 15 September 2012 (UTC)

Number of Armor Sets[edit]

The PvP Locker says there are 32 (optical different) armor sets of each type (192 pieces / 6 = 32) plus 3 cultural sets: 8 sets are Dungeon Armor, 1 set is for all Orrian Temple Exotics, 6 sets for common crafting, 5 sets from intricate crafting, 1 set from all the armor vendors in Tyria, 3 sets from the orders and the guild armor counts as 1. Adds up to 25. So I'm missing 7 sets. There are some unique recipes for crafting an there are lower level karma sets. I don't know if they share skins with other sets or if the karma recipes and the karma armors are basically the same with the difference of being craftable or not.

Pictures for all skins and of the icons could be taken from the locker, because the preview works. Maybe it's easier to screen the game for the sets (karma vendors, auction house, crafting, ...) to fill up this page with less unknowns. Regards. 79.244.114.143 23:03, 16 September 2012 (UTC)

Dungeon Armor Rare vs Exotic[edit]

According to the notes, "Dungeon armor sets come in both Rare and Exotic qualities. The Exotic version is simply an upgraded version of the Rare version, coming equipped with higher stats, but are sold for a higher cost per piece." This piece of information is quite misleading. When I was actually in-game and previewed the rare armor, it looked like a generic armor set (looked like chainmail for heavy armor). The visual is very different. Only the exotic version actually comes with the unique skin. Am I the only who has noticed this? --99.141.140.102 02:53, 1 October 2012 (UTC)

That note is from the betas - the generic rare skin was added between BWE3 and release, I'm pretty sure. Go ahead and fix it. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 05:13, 1 October 2012 (UTC)
Someone put a box listing the prices for each piece and the total. I just want to point out that not all of the sets are the same. Some have different prices than the others. --Lustre Of Havoc 04:06, 3 October 2012 (UTC)

Named armor sets, the same skin?[edit]

I'm pretty sure that all Named armor sets (like the god armors) have the same skin for their respective armor classes (Light/Medium/Heavy) If someone could check this is the case that would be fantastic, then we can copy all the Mhenlo armor images over to the other light armors. --Sir Biggus of Aggro 13:21, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

I can confirm that they do. I believe Medium armor uses the Duelist set as its skin. MS 13:58, 7 October 2012 (UTC)

Invader's Armor[edit]

There's need to add Invader's Armor at the World versus World Borderlands, purchasable by Karma or Badges of Honor The preceding unsigned comment was added by 212.25.91.30 (talk) at 13:10, 21 October 2012 (UTC).

Is it heavy, medium or light or all of them? - anja talk 14:10, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
There are Invader's items for Light, Medium and Heavy armor, there are also Invader's weapons and accessories, these come in three levels of rarity for the price of karma, and a high tier level with a difference appearance for the armors but similar appearance for the weapons for the price Badges of Honor. Armor Galleries[edit]

Different armor sets are slowly gaining their respective galleries, I personally have been uploading human male light sets, but I wanted to start a discussion about what the format of the armor galleries should be. I have started uploading images of armors in the dying window, but at their default colors, just to be as standardized as possible. However, this does cause a problem in that some sets default is all one color. Should we decide on colors to use? Opinions? timRAR 07:44, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

A discussion about this has been started here: [1], but hasn't gotten very far yet. -- LordEhzed 11:56, 4 November 2012 (UTC)

Karma Armor[edit]

I have been working for the past couple of weeks on the Karma Armor, and I have some questions between what I'm finding in game, and what is listed on the page. I am basing my pages on the armor skin (as defined on http://gw2armorgallery.com ) I'm not finding all the karma armors he has listed, and they definitely aren't all in the places listed here. See the pages I've been working on Rogue armor, Duelist armor, and Buccaneer armor. All the data I've added to those pages are first hand transcriptions from in game. I'm also seeing that the "Name" of the karma armor piece has relatively little to do with the actual armor skin. Any ideas how we can clarify some of these things? -- Wyn User Wynthyst sig icon2.png talk 08:32, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

You have to complete the meta event for the nearby cathedral for the vendor to appear Jmuzz 11:57, 17 November 2012 (UTC)
As of 1/29/2013 I have found all the sets indicated in the Karma armor section. I do believe that the Armor Gallery would be a good link or embeded source for images for armor. The displays take too many clicks and are inconsistent for display. All of the classes of armor that use the same skin should point to the same image or perhaps embed an image from the Armor Gallery... Of course, I am saying this only as a suggestion. What do others think?

Koda Armor[edit]

I'm not sure I believe you can get this from Karma vendors. Can anybody confirm this with a location of the vendor? Jmuzz 11:57, 17 November 2012 (UTC)

Agreed, I don't know that this is true. If it is true then it should be moved to where the other karma sets are. The preceding unsigned comment was added by Greymalik (talk) at 18:31, 10 December 2012 (UTC).

Order Armor Sets[edit]

It is mentioned that a character can only obtain the armor belonging to their own order. However, by using double transmutation, a character can effectively wear any order armor, as long as it's their class'; This could perhaps be noted. Also, just in case, according to the Talk:Transmutation, this workaround is 'as intended' by ArenaNet. --Steelfist 22:36, 21 January 2013 (UTC)

Armor Statistics (armor rating/attributes)[edit]

Can someone add a table showing at a glance all of the statistics? I thought I saw a similar table at some point for comparing attribute bonuses between armor sets but after looking off and on today I couldn't find it. A reference link on this page would also fit the bill. - Nachofan 23:08, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

You might be thinking of Item nomenclature. You may also find Equipment acquisition by stats helpful.
This page ("List of armor sets") is covering armor over a wide range of levels and qualities, which makes a table of exact stats for everything not very practical—many armor sets that currently show up as a single entry in a table would have to explode to hundreds of lines to cover every version of the armor (times 6 equipment slots per set), and the result wouldn't even be useful because no one actually cares about the stats of level 30 armor and level 80 armor at the same time. --Felbryn 23:16, 7 February 2013 (UTC)

Achievement Skins[edit]

Should there be some mention of the Hellfire/Radiant skins that you can obtain through achievement points? ~Lana Darkess [NH] (talk) 04:14, 13 August 2013 (UTC)

Maybe on List of armor skin sets.--Relyk ~ talk < 05:19, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
Already included here: List of unique armor.--Lon-ami (talk) 18:24, 19 August 2013 (UTC)

Quick reference table[edit]

What is this table good for? It simply repeats everything else on the page, only in a significantly more confusing manner and makes the page unnecessarily longer and harder to read through. User Noxx Sig.png 09:50, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Lets you navigate faster through all the existing armor sets. You know how many there are and how to get them quick, without needing to check the stuff below.
It would welcome some kind of show/hide feature, though.--Lon-ami (talk) 12:20, 26 August 2013 (UTC)
I actually think it does the exact opposite, it makes it much more difficult to get all of that information:
  • Before you understand that the first table repeats the rest of the page, it looks like there are double the amount of armour sets there really are; besides, the total count is written in the first paragraph.
  • The other sections are well organized and categorized, so you can see at the first glance which armour sets are cultural, karma or crafted and how many are there from each category, whereas the "quick reference table" completely fails at this.
  • Furthermore, it repeats the very same lines that are now further down, only with less information; you can read it's asuran, but the link to the merchant was removed; you can read Yes, scroll up to see the column was Token, but you don't know which one (by the way, those are all currencies now); you can read Yes below Personal Story, but you have no idea where from. For that information you need to find the other line for that armour, which is easier anyway, and that makes this table absolutely useless.
So, once again, how exactly is the info dump easier to navigate than the sections below; in other words, why should it stay? User Noxx Sig.png 16:02, 26 August 2013 (UTC)

Exotic Karma Armor and Named Armor[edit]

Who decided to remove the Exotic Karma Armor (i.e. temple armor) and Named Armor that was there before. Took me quite a while to realize it had been removed and then even more time to find it under equipment acquisition by stats page. Well, a lot of the armor that is here is also on that page so what's the point of this page anymore??? If the logic for removal is "well it's on that page so it doesn't need to be on this page", then everything should just be removed. I think it was a bad idea to remove entire sections of the page making it almost impossible to find the armor elsewhere on the wiki.

And I really need to register here so I can append my name and stuff. The preceding unsigned comment was added by 74.204.39.18 (talk) at 13:55, 11 September 2013 (UTC).

yeah I prefered the appearance of a previous revision. unfortunately so much has been changed in the following edits I can't tell if anything new has been added. -Chieftain AlexUser Chieftain Alex sig.png 14:00, 11 September 2013 (UTC)
You should find that fine by looking here: Equipment acquisition by stats#Loot (linked at the top of the page). This page should be for skins.--Lon-ami (talk) 18:24, 11 September 2013 (UTC)

Character creation and Faction armors[edit]

The mixed armor sets of factions and those displayed on profession select. Yes I know some professions got full cultural armor displayed but that is not true to all across the different races. Is these faction and profession full/mix and match sets something that should be listed and/or mentioned? If so which page(s)? Etc. Human guardians display on CC full protector armor (Cultural 3 Heavy), or Human/Norn Engineers using "Arcon set" for display. Lionguard medium soldier npcs use the head piece of Conquest set with a mix of other set pieces. - "R"

Wardrobe Changes[edit]

Now that the Wardrobe has a full list of armour, would it make most sense to use the wardrobe name as the default name for these skins instead of the sPvP name? The wardrobe name is also used by the transmutation system (even retroactively on older items). 58.110.33.177 02:49, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Yes, we're working on it. The wiki doesn't have any paid employees, unlike Dulfy, so we can't change everything instantly. —Dr Ishmael User Dr ishmael Diablo the chicken.png 03:08, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
To change the tables, would the individual pages need to be changed first so that the links go to the right places? Is there somewhere to go to get caught up on the changes being made or do I just jump in and start editing? 03:20, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
If it's all the same to you, you don't need to do anything. I am going to be working hard on cleaning up armor articles, this one included, and should have them cleaned up in short order, in the matter of a few days I reckon. If you do want to help, we need redirects created that take players from the new name to the old name until such time that the names are totally updated. You can search, for instance, Studded Plate armor, and create the page with a redirect to Plated armor. The redirect wiki code is #REDIRECT[[Plated armor]]. Psycho Robot (talk) 03:28, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
You know that makes the pages much harder to move Psycho? D:--Relyk ~ talk < 03:46, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
They can be overwritten if their only history is being created as a redirect. Psycho Robot (talk) 03:48, 18 April 2014 (UTC)
I would say though, just jump in and start editing! The faster things are more right, the better, and we can always all edit small details as we go :) - anja talk 07:34, 18 April 2014 (UTC)

Partial armor sets[edit]

Just submitting a proposed extension for the partial armor sets table which enumerates the availability of individual pieces. I mostly made this as an exercise. I don't know if this extra information is worthwhile or fits the style of the wiki, but here it is.
