Upon unlocking this achievement (unlocks 2 hours after completing Troublesome Skyscales Collection Achievement)

Gorrik Status Report Commander. I've successfully incubated and hatched several additional fledglings. But something's not right with our original hatchling. She's lethargic, agitated, and not getting along with her siblings. This may simply be a consequence of our hand-rearing, but I'm concerned this may be something more. Please return as soon as you're able.

Gorrik: Well, would you look at that. Perked right up. I haven't seen her this animated in some time.

Talking to Gorrik

Gorrik: I was wrong. There's nothing ailing her—she just missed you. And quite a lot it seems. That's all the evidence I need!

Evidence?

Since we've been working with these fledgling, it's become apparent that the bond between the two of you isn't just strong—it's exploitable. I mean, uh...imagine a kinder way of saying that.

She'd be happier at your side, that much is clear. And a skyscale mount would provide a sizable advantage in the field. Such an arrangement would be mutually beneficial. What do you say?

"Mutually beneficial" meaning...?

For you, for the skyscale, and for me! I'm investigating some anomalies—rifts in reality from our battle with Kralkatorrik in the skies all around Tyria.

Once I've crafted a saddle you could get used to flying together by hovering up to said rifts and securing the data I need.

A saddle?

Just gather this list of materials and bring them to me on the cliffs northeast of the Fortress of Jahai. I'll whip up a saddle for you, and we'll be in business.

Putting the saddle on the skyscale

Gorrik: Ah, that's quite a handsome saddle, if I do say so myself. Now then: let's see how you fare in the air. Ugh, I rhymed.

Gorrik: One of the reality tears is just above us. Take your new friend for a test ride. I'll be observing from here.

After interacting with the nearby rift

Gorrik: Superb! She's flourishing—she must love science! Or you, I suppose.

Gorrik: The other tears in reality await! By the time you're done, the two of you will be in utter synchrony.

Gorrik: Oh, before I forget—take this whistle. Since she ran away, I've spent a great many hours training her to respond to it.

Notes

• After talking to Gorrik, the skyscale you need to interact with is several feet to Gorrik's right. (She might be harder to see at first if the in-game time is currently Night, due to how the terrain and lighting end up blending in with her scales somewhat during Night.)
