Welcome to the Town of Nageling—the tarnished gem of the Diessa Plateau.

Why do you say "tarnished gem"?

The town was originally built by a group of priviliged soldiers who wanted to escape the din and grit of the Black Citadel's construction. For a while, this small enclave was an oasis for fat-cats.

What changed?

Soon, a swarm of skritt—drawn by the bright, shiny baubles conspicuously worn by the Nageling townsfolk—laid siege to the town. The pampered pussycats hightailed it back to the safety of the citadel.

So, Nageling was abandoned?

The afluent fled to safety, but left newer, less fortunate residents behind to "hold down the fort". With help from a few Citadel soldiers, the skritt were eventually driven away.

So that's why there aren't skritt around anymore.

Nageling's founders decided it was too dangerous to return. So the merchants, soldiers and workers "inherited" the town. And today, it's populated by their descendants.
