Candidate statement

Thanks for the nomination Auron - I accept the nomination. It's clear that I'm an active user here, despite my intentions to be less active, so I suppose that I just like helping other users too much eh? Any additional tools that I can help said people with shouldn't cause concern or trouble the community. Evidently the sysop team is stronger here than on GWW, and so they need less help, but I'm up for it, so if you'll have me, I'll help out. -Chieftain Alex 07:40, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

• Chieftan Alex was given sysop tools on GWW almost a year ago, mostly the result of a "why not" election - he was one of the most active members on the wiki, and I'd seen his tireless efforts on both that wiki and PvX, so I figured he could help out with the standard sysop tasks of deleting, cleaning up after bots, etc. Since January, he's done not only an exceptional job of keeping GWW clean, he's gone toe to toe with problem users without losing his cool. His technical knowledge is definitely good enough to help with abusefilter management (which he's helped with on GWW), and he'll help keep the pretty fucking embarrassing deletion queue down to a reasonable level. I'm very confident in his ability to police an active wiki like this one, and his already fairly active status will only be bolstered by the addition of sysop tools. -Auron 06:03, 8 November 2013 (UTC)

• Alex hasn't interacted too greatly with users here, but he has been amicable. Felix has impressed upon me that sysop duties have nothing to do with actually playing the game, so I will not hold it against Alex and his ability to moderate. I don't have to talk too much about is promotion on GWW as precedence for the position, I interact with him constantly on this wiki and experience in the past with PvXwiki. If the normal question is "Do we need another sysop?", Alex has spent a lot of time managing files and the position will help clean up image moves faster (which has been happening more often with Konig, Santax, and Somohexual) instead of Ishmael getting around to it.   I think the question of "Do we need another sysop?" is by and large irrelevant if the candidate is qualified. That being said, our admin list is pretty measly right now, so the answer is yes, we could use another sysop. 16:11, 8 November 2013 (UTC)
