Achievement
From Guild Wars 2 Wiki
Achievements are part of an account-wide title system that gauges what a player has accomplished in the game; while they can provide gold and experience, they do not provide any direct in-game advantage or alter gameplay.
Players can earn achievements in a variety of ways: from killing particular monsters, to mastering weapons, or participating in mini-games. Each completed achievement adds achievement points to the player's overall achievement score, the amount of which depends on the tier and specifics of the achievement. Some achievements also unlock titles that players can display beneath their character's names for others to see. [1]
There are three types of achievements:
- Regular achievements — non-repeatable long-term goals with purely cosmetic rewards.
- Daily achievements — short-term, repeatable and easy-to-complete goals that reward gold and experience.
- Monthly achievements — medium-term, dynamic and varied goals that reward substantial gold and experience upon completion.

[edit] Regular achievements
Regular achievements are non-repeatable, long-term objectives. They are split into eight main categories, each of which is ranked by tiers. As players progress through each tier, the achievements become progressively more difficult. Certain categories will require more than one character to complete.[2]
Regular achievements are divided up into eight categories (the number in parenthesis indicates how many specific achievements are in each category):
- Community (5) — gaining various social accolades
- Explorer (21) — exploring the map and puzzle completions
- Fashion (5) — collecting specialty armors
- Hall of Monuments (10) — monument points gained from Guild Wars
- Hero (28) — assisting NPCs and completing personal storylines
- PvP Conqueror (6) — killing foes and winning PvP matches
- Slayer (39) — killing foes of a specific type
- Tradesman (18) — crafting, buying or selling items
- Weapon Master[2] (23) — using weapon skills
[edit] Daily achievements
Daily achievements are short, easily-completed goals that reward experience. Progress is reset each day; there are a finite number of tiers for each daily achievement.
There are four different types of daily achievements:[3]
- Challenge-based e.g. completing specific tasks
- Count-based e.g. number of kills, places explored
- Skill-based e.g. speed of kills, length of kill streak
- Variety-based e.g. variety of actions taken in combat
[edit] List of daily achievements
- Daily Gatherer: 3 Gatherings[4]
- Daily Kill Variety: 8 Types of Enemy[4]
- Daily Kills: 60 Kills[4]
- Daily PVP Victory: 1 PvP Win[4]
- Daily Trader: 1,000 Coins Earned [5][4]
[edit] Monthly achievements
Monthly achievements are medium-length goals with varied objectives. These achievements vary from month to month; the start of a new month offers new objectives and does not reset completed monthly objectives. Monthly achievements are more varied than daily achievements, potentially having requirements from PvE to mini-games to competitive PvP.
[edit] List of monthly achievements
- Event Participation: 400 Events Completed
- Experience Survivor: 50,000 Exp without Death
- Trading Post Sales: 500 Coin Earned
- WvW Kills: 1,000 World Invaders Killed [5]
