That isn't a bad life, considering. Fishing is relaxing, but necessary, so I can take it easy and be useful at the same time. And since I'll never go back to mining, this is really the best I'll get.

Why won't you go back to mining?

I was mining up north with the rest of the warband when the cave collapsed. Only two of us survived. But she didn't fare too well.

Was she injured?

She lost the use of two legs and one arm, and her mind wanders a little now. I could go back to mining, but she can't physically do it. She's my warband, so I couldn't just leave her. We came here to start over.

Thanks, but it's my duty. Our new warband has been supportive. I wasn't sure they'd accept her, since she can't contribute much, but they did. It's not the mine, but it'll do.
