Captain's Council, Lion's Arch

Emergency — Lion's Arch Is Being Invaded

To all Tyrians,

This is a general emergency warning. A few hours ago, a massive flying platform has entered Sanctum Harbor, bringing destruction and spreading a lethal miasma over the city. Furthermore, Aetherblade airships, Molten portals, and Toxic forces are overwhelming the Lionguard response.

Some of the citizenry is still trapped inside the city limits. We are calling on available heroes to assist in the evacuation efforts.

Lion's Arch needs you. If you can, please report to the forward camps in Gendarran Fields, Bloodtide Coast, and Lornar's Pass at once.

—Captain's Council, Lion's Arch

All refugee camps[edit]

Speaking with Refugee Camp Director
Do you need medical aid? What about shelter? Have you been exposed to that horrible gas?
Talk ls option tango.png I'm fine. What happened?
Scarlet and her armies came out of nowhere and bombed Lion's Arch. We've been racing to get these evacuees sheltered and treated.
Talk ls option tango.png Is this all who survived?
No. We've set up three refugee camps: one in Gendarran Fields, another in Bloodtide Coast, and a third in Lornar's Pass.
Talk ls option tango.png Anything I can do to help?
Head to the city entrances and rally with the Lionguard. They're periodically entering the city to evacuate as many people as possible.
Talk end option tango.png Got it. Thanks.
Living Story Recap.png Tell me what happened.
(Replays the introductory cutscene depicting the destruction of Lion's Arch.)
Talk end option tango.png No, I'm fine.

Vigil Keep and Vigilant Hills, Gendarran Fields[edit]

Speaking with Evon Gnashblade

(After rescuing him:)

Most people would be alive if the council listened to me. But you got me out in one piece. Let me make it up to you with something from my private stocks.
Talk merchant tango.png What do you have for sale?
Talk give option tango.png Something special? I'm in.
Talk more option tango.png How are you doing out here?
Better than most of my customers, who are dead thanks to those useless Lionguard. Any fahrar would have held the city better than those failures.
Talk more option tango.png That's harsh.
My business is in tatters, and I'm surrounded by refugees who can't buy my stock. Yeah, my day is looking up.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be going now.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be going.
Talk end option tango.png Not right now.
Speaking with Commodore Lawson Marriner

(Before rescuing him:)

Ah, another tossed overboard from the city. Have a rope yarn, sailor. I need to plan relief efforts.
Talk merchant tango.png Before you go, I'd like to see your wares.
Talk end option tango.png Thank you.

(After rescuing him:)

I can't thank you enough for that rescue, sailor. You made sure this old pirate found his way to safe harbor. If only the rest of the waters were so smooth.
Talk merchant tango.png I want to do some business.
Talk more option tango.png How's Lion's Arch faring?
Like all of its sails have been slit. Scarlet outflanked us and has the city in her clutches. Those who made it out have been blown to all corners, including the council.
Talk merchant tango.png Do you have anything for sale?
Talk more option tango.png What can I do? (see below)
Talk more option tango.png Are you all right? (see below)
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Talk more option tango.png What can I do?
Set sail into the eye of the storm and free those shipwrecked in the city. I sent my Lionguard detail to rescue citizens, but...oh, those brave souls, fighting to the last.
Talk merchant tango.png Do you have anything for sale?
Talk more option tango.png How's Lion's Arch faring? (see above)
Talk more option tango.png Are you all right? (see below)
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk more option tango.png Are you all right?
Depends on if we can save the city. I couldn't bear being the Marriner who commanded but lost the city his grandfather founded. I fear such a loss would sink me.
Talk merchant tango.png Do you have anything for sale?
Talk more option tango.png How's Lion's Arch faring? (see above)
Talk more option tango.png What can I do? (see above)
Talk end option tango.png Don't give up.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Torina Panney

(After rescuing him:)

It's you! You came back! Rorik and Silma didn't think you'd see us again. Of course you would. You saved us! Oh hey, I got something for you.
Talk more option tango.png What do you have for me?
It's a drawing, for good luck. Rorik did most of it, but we all contributed by...um...gathering supplies from all over camp. Want it?
Talk give option tango.png I'll take on, but tone down the "gathering" before you get caught.
(You receive Refugee Child's Drawing (Lion's Arch), can only be done once.)
Now, go kick Scarlet in the butt. Wait, do Sylvari have butts?
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk more option tango.png Maybe later. How are you doing here? (see below: How are you all doing in the camp?)
Talk end option tango.png Another time.
Talk more option tango.png How are you all doing in the camp?
The grown-ups here are all running around and being busy. Don't worry. Most of us grew up either homeless or orphans. We can take care of ourselves.
Talk more option tango.png You don't have anyone to take care of you?
You don't get the whole orphan thing, do you? We live in Queen's Heart Orphanage. We're waiting for another adult from there to come get us.
Talk more option tango.png At least you're safe now.
Yeah, it's not bad here. Last year, the orphanage had a fire. Now that was scary.
Talk more option tango.png I was there. I'm sorry I couldn't stop the fire from happening.
Weird. Captain Thackeray said the same thing when he said the orphanage would be fixed. It's better than ever now. A couple of us, Mella and Dylon, even got adopted.
Talk more option tango.png You have something for me? (see above: What do you have for me?)
Talk end option tango.png Good to hear.
Talk more option tango.png What do you have for me? (see above: What do you have for me?)
Talk end option tango.png I believe you.
Talk more option tango.png You said you have something for me? (see above: What do you have for me?)
Talk end option tango.png I'm sure someone will be with you soon.
Talk more option tango.png What do you have for me? (see above: What do you have for me?)
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png Another time, kids.
Speaking with Lionguard Seraka Jaggedtail
Primary article: Lionguard Seraka Jaggedtail#Dialogue
Speaking with Lionguard Healer Halloway
You're walking and talking. Good news: you're not about to die. If you need more medical aid, tak a number. We'll get to you as soon as we can.
Talk more option tango.png Who are you?
Lionguard Healer Halloway, Second Medical Response Squad. Unless you have any more questions, I need to get back to my patients.
Talk more option tango.png What's going on here?
Where have you been? That crazy plant, Scarlet, has bombed and gassed Lion's Arch. I can't begin to count the dead. I just know the wounded keep coming.
Talk more option tango.png What are they suffering from?
Blunt force trauma from falling rubble, combat wounds, and minor burns. The worst is the miasma gas. It's killing one out of every two patients.
Talk more option tango.png Tell me more about the miasma.
The few who survived said it's like being scraped from the inside out. They got a cough that'll haunt them until they die.
Talk more option tango.png And normal healing doesn't work?
Most people were trapped in the city and breathed in so much of the gas they're beyond my care. I can only make them comfortable.
Talk more option tango.png What can I do?
Most of the Lionguard is either sick or dead, and people are still trapped in the city with that gas. They'll have a fighting chance if you get can[sic] them out.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk more option tango.png What can I do to help? (see above: What can I do?)
Talk end option tango.png Thanks for the update.
Talk more option tango.png Is there anything I can do? (see above: What can I do?)
Talk end option tango.png I wish you luck.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be going now.
Talk more option tango.png What happened to these people? (see above: What are they suffering from?)
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Talk more option tango.png What's happening? (see above: What's going on here?)
Talk end option tango.png Uh, thanks.
Speaking with Lionguard Corpsman
Let's see. You don't appear to be ailing. That's a relief. We've been deluged by sick and dying day and night.
Talk more option tango.png What happened?
Scarlet! She appeared out of nowhere and blasted the city to pieces. I, Healer Halloway, and these poor souls managed to flee before the carnage ensued.
Talk more option tango.png Why not go in the city and get to those wounded?
It's not advised. There's a terrible gas that's enshrouding Lion's Arch. Terribly caustic. Most of those who inhale it expire in agony.
Talk more option tango.png Sounds terrible.
The worst are the youth. They witnessed the deaths of their parents, and now they pass away in a camp like this one alone and in pain.
Talk more option tango.png What can I do to help?
Healer Halloway can advise you better about these matters. Be careful. I don't desire to see you on a cot here.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk end option tango.png I...need to go.
Talk end option tango.png Got it.
Talk end option tango.png Best of luck
Speaking with Taimi
You're here! Good! Were you in Lion's Arch? Did you see Scarlet? Is she there? I can't find a single person who saw her there.
Talk more option tango.png What do you care?
This could be my last chance to see her in action while still young and cute enough that she won't kill me outright.
Talk more option tango.png She's killing lots of people, Taimi. Killing them dead. It's not a game.
I know. She's dangerous. I get it. But you can't make gold without breaking a few beakers. I don't want to talk to her anymore. I just want to observe. Surely I could do that!
Talk more option tango.png Do not go into Lion's Arch. The miasma will kill you.
Oh, all right. I won't go there. I'm not stupid. Besides, Scarlet's not even there.
Talk more option tango.png Does Zojja know you're out here?
No. And you're not going to tell her, are you? Besides. Vigil. Right there. And when I'm ready to go home, the gate to Rata Sum is just up a few stairs in the fortress.
Talk more option tango.png You don't like your studies, do you?
I like to learn. I just don't believe that sitting in a lab—listening to a boring old magidork—is the way to do it. No offense.
Talk end option tango.png For the record, I'm not boring.
Talk end option tango.png Keep collecting eyewitness reports. You're bound to learn something.
Talk end option tango.png I can't believe you just said that.
Talk end option tango.png You're betting too much on her good will.
Talk end option tango.png She's not there. Stop looking.
Speaking with Heal-o-Tron
Greetings. Scanning—for—injuries. Results: you—are—in—nominal—health. Diagnosis: you—are—not—yet—dead. Maintain—this—status—for—optimal—existence.
Talk more option tango.png Who are you?
Current—designation: Heal-o-Tron. This—unit—diagnoses—and—treats—illnesses—and—injuries. Current—assignment: assisting—Lionguard—medical—personnel—during—ongoing—disaster.
Talk more option tango.png Current designation? You had other names?
Correct. This—unit—was—formerly—designated—Job-o-Tron, Hobo-Tron, and—Ho-Ho-Tron. Health—tip: avoid—eating—rotten—corpses.
Talk more option tango.png Do you know anything about the attack on Lion's Arch? (see below)
Talk more option tango.png So, you're a Lionguard golem? (see below: So, you're a Lionguard golem? A Lion-golem?)
Talk end option tango.png Got it.
Talk more option tango.png Do you know anything about the attack on Lion's Arch?
Negative. This—unit—is—unaffiliated—with—Scarlet—and—her—current—actions. This—unit—must—counteract—her—violence—to—the—best—of—its—programming.
Talk more option tango.png Must?
Correct. This—unit—was—improperly—found—guilty—of—aiding—Scarlet—in—the—past. This—unit—seeks—to—correct—this—faulty—assertion—using—its—programming.
Talk more option tango.png What's your plan?
This—unit's—Consortium—basic—programming—contains—an—extensive—medical—and—biological—database. This—unit—will—aid—those—wounded—by—Scarlet.
Talk more option tango.png Do you know anything about the attack on Lion's Arch? (see above)
Talk end option tango.png Interesting.
Talk more option tango.png So, you're a Lionguard golem? (see below: So, you're a Lionguard golem? A Lion-golem?)
Talk end option tango.png Okay, then.
Talk more option tango.png So, you're a Lionguard golem? (see below: So, you're a Lionguard golem? A Lion-golem?)
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Talk more option tango.png So, you're a Lionguard golem? A Lion-golem?
Negative. Volunteer—status—engaged. This—unit's—current—objective—is—to—show—a—disloyal—state—to—Scarlet. Health—tip: wash—hands—after—genocide.
Talk more option tango.png Do you know anything about the attack on Lion's Arch? (see above)
Talk end option tango.png Good luck with that.
Talk end option tango.png Interesting.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks, I guess.
Speaking with Bloomanoo
Oh, hoo. Quagg-gg-ggan is f-f-freezing. Have you seen Lion's Arch?
Talk more option tango.png Not recently. Why?
Boo. Quaggan is sorry to tell you that Lion's Arch is foo'd. Scarlet sent her poisons and her army to destroy it.
Talk more option tango.png I'll have to go see.
What are quaggans supposed to do now? First the krait and Nightmare Court chase quaggans out, and now that Scarlet sylvari has ruined everything.
Talk more option tango.png At least you're safe here.
That's what they said about Lion's Arch. Are quaggans not safe anywhere anymore?
Talk more option tango.png I don't think any of us are safe anymore. What are you going to do?
Quaggans want to go where it's warm. Quaggans hope that will be Lion's Arch. Do you think the city will be rescued?
Talk more option tango.png We're doing our best. Stay here for now. Stay together.
Quaggans will. And if you can't save Lion's Arch, quaggans will begin a journey southward, to clear blue seas.
Talk end option tango.png I hope you find them.
Talk end option tango.png Hang in there.
Talk end option tango.png Hang in there.
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Talk end option tango.png Time to move.
Talk end option tango.png Later.
Speaking with Peneloopee
Oh, foo. Did you get kicked out of Lion's Arch too? Quaggan is sorry, but glad you're here too. You can protect quaggans now.
Talk more option tango.png I see you two are still together.
Oh yes. Together forever. Quaggans were going to make a pod in Lion's Arch, but that dream is now squished. Quaggan hopes Scarlet gets plant louse.
Talk end option tango.png Something is sure eating Scarlet's brain.
Talk end option tango.png You'll be safe here.
Speaking with Captain Shud
We managed to relocate some citizens before I off-lined the city's asura gates. At least none of Scarlet's homicidal minions can use the gates to access other cities.
Talk more option tango.png Anything I can do?
The Lionguard needs volunteers to find survivors in Lion's Arch. Enter the city with care. Scarlet has covered the city with a deadly gas and a vicious army.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Lionguard Belongings Collector
Hey, if you ended up with any local's belongings, you can trade them with me. Plus I won't report you for looting.
Talk give option tango.png Here's what I have.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Lionguard Belongings Collector
Got anything belonging to the refugees, exchange it with me. We don't tolerate looters around here. As in jail time. If you're lucky.
Talk give option tango.png Here you go.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Captain Hao Luen
Why aren't the other cities coming to our aid? Balloons? Is that the best Divinity's Reach can do?
Talk end option tango.png I don't know.
Speaking with Itheann
Luckily I was out of stock when Scarlet hit. I got enough money to last for a while. Some of the dealers here don't.
Talk end option tango.png Lucky you.
Speaking with Yolla
Three generations of family business up in smoke.
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Speaking with Relott
My store went up in flames. I barely got out alive.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Speaking with Rraghk
I know this is in poor taste, but this disaster happened at the best time for me. I was going out of business anyway.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Beggar
I was reunited with my family after a few days. Some people here are still looking. It's so depressing.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Citizen
I lost my wife to the gas. I almost wish I passed away with her.
Talk end option tango.png I...I'm sorry.
Speaking with Citizen
I had him in my arms the whole way. The moment I got here, they took my Rollan from me to a mass grave. I couldn't even say good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png Leave.[sic]
Speaking with Farmer
I don't know if I'll ever get home again.
Talk end option tango.png At least you're safe here.
Speaking with Local
Worst thing about this camp is there's no alcohol. If I ever needed a drink, now's the time.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.

Ambient dialogue[edit]

(In the Vigil Keep)
Evon Gnashblade: I warned Magnus. I warned Kiel! I warned them all. I told them Scarlet was going to attack the city.
Evon Gnashblade: Did the Council listen? No! Because of them, your friends, your neighbors. Dead.
Evon Gnashblade: Now I know why he's Captain Magnus the Bloody-Handed. He has the blood of all those innocent people in Lion's Arch on his hands.
Lionguard Jirtta: Evon Gnashblade?
Evon Gnashblade: What is it? Shouldn't you be failing at your job somewhere?
Lionguard Jirtta: You've been hereby conscripted into Lionguard service under General Emergency Statute 14.
Evon Gnashblade: You're joking. Someone tell me this sorry idiot is playing a joke on me.
Lionguard Jirtta: For the duration of the emergency, you and Black Lion Trading Post agents will act as deputy quartermasters outfitting all active personnel.
Evon Gnashblade: And what if I refuse? What if I pull up stakes and leave you suckers in the dust?
Lionguard Jirtta: Considering you are now technically a Lionguard supply officer, desertion would mean confiscation of your wares and summary execution.
Evon Gnashblade: So, it's either get robbed blind by you Lionguard or get hanged?
Lionguard Jirtta: Firing squad, actually. And it's not "you" or "us" anymore, Quartermaster Gnashblade.
Lionguard Jirtta: Speaking of which, we need two dozen swords, a dozen axes, twenty shields, and forty rifles.
Evon Gnashblade: (grumble)
Evon Gnashblade: Just tell me one thing. Kiel—she's dead, right? C'mon, give a guy good news.
Lionguard Jirtta: She and Captain Magnus are at a relief camp to the south. And your deputizing was Captain Kiel's idea.
Evon Gnashblade: Of course it was.
(At the field hospital)
Lionguard Healer Halloway: How are we doing?
Lionguard Corpsman: There's a spike in secondary infections. Moss lung and longfeather rashes, mostly.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Whose bright idea was it to have open-air hospitals?
Lionguard Corpsman: The Vigil's infirmary is packed with wounded. It's a complete mess in there.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Well, tell their warmasters these people need to be inside. Otherwise, we'll be digging mass graves on their doorstep.
Lionguard Corpsman: You look beat.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: And you look like a bloated dolyak's rump.
Lionguard Corpsman: I mean, when's the last time you got some sleep?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Patients first. Sleep later.
(Lionguard Healer Halloway comes to Wounded Lionguard)
Wounded Lionguard: (cough) Where am I?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: A Lionguard field hospital.
Wounded Lionguard: (cough) Can barely breathe. Lungs and eyes feel on fire.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: It'll pass. You need to take it easy. Now, I need your name and unit, for the records.
Wounded Lionguard: Drax Tinderstride, Private. Sixth Harbor detail. (cough)
Lionguard Healer Halloway: That's fine, soldier. Get some rest.
(Lionguard Healer Halloway returns to Lionguard Corpsman)
Lionguard Healer Halloway: He'll be gone in an hour. Add his name to the list.
Lionguard Corpsman: You're finally taking a break?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Turns out I got a volunteer.
Lionguard Corpsman: Is that a golem?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Don't knock it. It doesn't sleep, doesn't need to eat, doesn't feel demoralized by dying patients.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: The thing just showed up, wanting to help. At this point, I could use it.
Heal-o-tron: Analyzing—miasma—aerosol.
Lionguard Corpsman: You can do that?
Heal-o-tron: Consortium—programming—offers—basic—analysis—of—chemical—compounds. Analysis—underway.
Lionguard Corpsman: Can you find a cure?
Heal-o-tron: For—current—late-stage—patients, negative.
Heal-o-tron: However, infection—appears—to—be—counteracted—by—subaether—harmonics—in—a—localized—energy—field.
(Lionguard Healer Halloway comes to the nearby group of Seraph)
Seraph Sergeant: Are you in charge here?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: You have a complaint? And I was having such a good day.
Seraph Sergeant: Official Seraph business, ma'am. We're looking for a golem. It's been—
Lionguard Healer Halloway: You're kidding. I thought you were the first of a relief effort from Divinity's Reach, but you're here for a golem?
Seraph Soldier: Have you seen one? Small, ovoid shaped, two arms, hovers. Sarcastic tone.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Yes, it's my backup medic.
Seraph Soldier: You are ordered to hand over the golem immediately.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: You want me to give over the only other combat medic I have? Go eat your sword.
Seraph Sergeant: Orders are orders. The golem is wanted on an outstanding warrant.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: What's the charge?
Seraph Sergeant: Aiding and abetting a known mass murderer—Scarlet Briar.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: You're joking! No, I don't think you've ever joked in your life.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: Gods...I'll go find him.
(Heal-o-tron comes to the group)
Heal-o-tron: This—unit—was—summoned. How—may—I—assist—you?
Lionguard Healer Halloway: These Seraph say you helped Scarlet. Fess up. Is it true?
Heal-o-tron: Negative.
Seraph Sergeant: It's lying. It was seen in Scarlet's presence when she attacked the Queen's Jubilee.
Heal-o-tron: I—was—captured—and—forced—into—Scarlet's—service. This—unit—has—no—loyalty—to—her.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: See? Now either help with the wounded or leave. We've got injured to treat.
Seraph Sergeant: It seems this golem left out a few crucial details, such has his being found guilty of aiding Scarlet.
Lionguard Healer Halloway: You were found guilty of helping the psycho who's hammering our city?
Heal-o-tron: Affirmative. However—
Lionguard Healer Halloway: However, nothing. Get away from my patients. You're probably behind what put them here. Get out!
Seraph Sergeant: You heard the lady. Come with us. Now.
Heal-o-tron: Negative. I—paid—my—debt—to—the—people—of—Divinity's—Reach. I—raised—thousands—of—gold—for—them—during—Wintersday.
Heal-o-tron: I—overheard—Seraph—talking—about—using—this—unit—to—
Seraph Sergeant: Enough. Come along right now. You have nowhere to run.
Heal-o-tron: Negative! I—will—find—an—alternate—solution. This—unit—is—no—longer—in—your—possession.
(Heal-o-tron goes to the Vigil Keep to see Evon Gnashblade)
Evon Gnashblade: You want a combat chassis and an energy amplifier, but no weapons? What are you, crazy?
Heal-o-tron: Logic—circuits—are—nominal. Is—this—design—feasible?
Evon Gnashblade: Yeah. The amplifier—that'll take a while. I'll be honest. Never had a golem customer.
Heal-o-tron: Will—this—irregular—customer—interaction—delay—delivery?
Evon Gnashblade: No. Now, I don't usually ask this, but what's all this for? I mean, the Lionguard's watching me close.
Evon Gnashblade: You ain't gonna kill us all in some golem uprising, right?
Heal-o-tron: Negative. Nonhostile—intent.
Evon Gnashblade: You better be right.
Evon Gnashblade: This design of yours. You want to take a beating, but not dish it out?
Heal-o-tron: Affirmative.
Evon Gnashblade: Yeah, I'm gonna have to be asking for payment in advance.
Heal-o-tron: Error: I—lack—the—sufficient—funds.
Evon Gnashblade: Then go away. I don't work for free. Well, except for the Lionguard these days. Damn that Kiel.
Heal-o-tron: Accessing—pleading—subroutine.
Evon Gnashblade: A begging golem. This oughta be a laugh.
Heal-o-tron: This—unit—paid—its—debt—to—Divinity's—Reach. The—Seraph—want—to—use—me—for—an—endless—series—of—tasks.
Heal-o-tron: If—I—can—aid—in—the—assault—against—Scarlet, I—calculate—the—act—will—earn—goodwill—and—prove—I—am—not—her—minion.
Evon Gnashblade: Sounds like the Seraph won't care. But the Captain's Council might. Hmmm.
Evon Gnashblade: Maybe we can come to some kind of arrangement.
(Heal-o-tron returns to the field hospital and the cycle starts again)
(By the campfire)
Peneloopee: Brrr. Quaggan is so cold.
Bloomanoo: Quaggan is too.
Peneloopee: Quaggans should snuggle for warmth.
Peneloopee: What are quaggans going to do now? Quaggans' old home is gone, and now quaggans' new home is too.
Peneloopee: Quaggan is trying hard not to cry.
Bloomanoo: Don't fret, love. The journey takes its toll, but the waters at the end will be fresh.
Peneloopee: Quaggan's home is wherever Bloomanoo is.
Peneloopee: Quaggan thinks there must be warmer waters south of here.
Bloomanoo: Quaggan is brave. Quaggan will make the journey.
(At the north side of the camp)
Crusader Breachstride: The enemy's in there. Why are we standing around with our weapons in our hands?
Tactician Hazardclaw: Save that energy. We'll be leading the charge just as soon as a gust pushes the miasma out to sea.
Crusader Breachstride: Hmpf. Damn miasma.
Crusader Breachstride: You see all the dead Lionguard they've been pulling out of the city?
Tactician Hazardclaw: Shh. Not around the civilians.
Tactician Hazardclaw: Never thought I'd be protecting this many civilians in our own backyard.
Crusader Breachstride: I know. Usually we'd get dispatched to some awful hole in the ground.
Crusader Breachstride: After our shift is done, I can walk back, have a hot meal, and sleep in my own bunk. Kinda nice.
Crusader Breachstride: Uh, you know...
Tactician Hazardclaw: I was thinking the same thing. I don't mind pulling extra guard duty.
Crusader Breachstride: And I don't mind donating my chow. Yeah.
Tactician Hazardclaw: Same here.
Tactician Hazardclaw: Scarlet's barged in and taken a whole city overnight. Imagine the planning.
Crusader Breachstride: I don't know and I don't care to know. Just tell me when we get to kick down the door and ruin her day.

Cornucopian Fields, Gendarran Fields[edit]

Speaking with Ela Makkay

(As a member of the Priory:)

Greetings, my fellow scholar. What terrible circumstances under which to run into one another. We believe Scarlet has found a ley line.
Talk more option tango.png Tell me more.
I've been authorized to inform fellow Priory that Scarlet has found not only a ley line, but an intersection of several. The amount of power flowing beneath Lion's Arch must be unbelievable.
Talk more option tango.png What do you know of her plans?
We have not yet ascertained her goal. Our early-response team is focused entirely on finding a cure or barrier for the miasma. Saving lives is our number one priority.
Talk end option tango.png Completely understandable.
Talk end option tango.png Understood.

(If not a member of the Priory:)

Greetings. Have you heard the warnings about the miasma? It's deadly. The Durmand Priory recommends against spending much time in it.
Talk more option tango.png What is she up to?
We don't know, and we don't yet have an antidote. But rest assured, the Durmand Priory is leveraging all our resources to save as many lives as possible.
Talk end option tango.png Good to know.
Speaking with Braham
Just taking the time to rest before diving back in. Lion's Arch can use all the help it can get.
Talk end option tango.png Ready when you are.
Speaking with Rox
This could've been much worse if you hadn't figured out that her target was Lion's Arch. Between seeing the probe change and sorting through Scarlet's trash, you saved lives.
Talk more option tango.png I'm glad I could help.
Braham and I were ready because you warned us. We evacuated a lot of citizens who'd be dead now. Between Scarlet's thugs' murdering and the miasma choking them to death, it's ugly in there.
Talk end option tango.png Be ready. We're not done yet.

Ambient dialogue[edit]

(By the campfire)
Rox: Aaargh! Could that have been any worse?
Braham Eirsson: We saved some, but how many people are still in there? (huff) I'm going to break Scarlet in half.
Rox: Hold on to that thought. It won't be long before we get another chance to go back in.
Braham Eirsson: Next time, we save as many as we can. I'm not stopping until they have to carry me out.
Rox: Rawr!
Braham Eirsson: Why you so jumpy?
Rox: Can't you hear those explosions?
Braham Eirsson: Well, if we don't get blown up, then the miasma will probably kill us.
Rox: Or the clockworks.
Braham Eirsson: Or those thrice-damned Aetherblades.
Rox: And don't forget the krait.
Braham Eirsson: I'm already hearing the song they'll sing about us.
Braham Eirsson: I wonder if Marjory and Kasmeer are still in one piece. They aren't as battle hardened as we are.
Rox: They'll be fine. Marjory's got a keen eye for trouble, and Kasmeer can hold her own with illusions, surprisingly.
Braham Eirsson: That won't help them if they're too busy making lovey eyes at each other.
Rox: Hey. I remember not so long ago when you were in love too.
Braham Eirsson: Yeah, and I regret every minute of it.
Rox: (chuckle) Rejection is a bitter pill, hmm?
Braham Eirsson: Hmph.
Braham Eirsson: Is it time yet?
Rox: No, Braham. Be patient. We can't go in too soon. The miasma has to dissipate first.
Braham: How come Marjory's antidote isn't working anymore?
Rox: Seems Scarlet improved her recipe. She's an impressive alchemist.
Braham Eirsson: Is there anything she doesn't do well?
Rox: Make friends?
Braham Eirsson: Good point.
Rox: It's almost that time. You ready, Braham?
Braham Eirsson: Ready to kill some bad guys and save some innocents? Do you even have to ask?
Rox: (chuckle) I just like to hear you say it.
Braham Eirsson: I'm ready!
(When the gain entry event is completed)
Lionguard: Retake Lion's Arch. No stopping, no mercy!

Stormbluff Isle, Bloodtide Coast[edit]

Speaking with Ellyna Graidy

(Before rescuing her:)

Have you come from the city? Have you been to the lighthouse? My father's still there, trying to warn ships away. Dear Dwayna, please protect him.
Talk merchant tango.png Actually, I'd like to trade with you.
Talk end option tango.png Haven't seen him.

(After rescuing her:)

Praise Dwayna. Thank you for helping me escape the city. Have you seen my father? Is he safe? I have something that might help you if you are going back for him.
Talk merchant tango.png I'll take a look at your wares.
Talk more option tango.png How are you holding up?
I've been keeping busy tending to the refugees here, trying to give them some of Dwayna's peace at this terrible time.
Talk more option tango.png Dwayna?
The goddess of life and air who directed humanity to care for the wounded and downtrodden. Every generation of my family has had one acolyte in the order. Soon, that'll be me.
Talk more option tango.png Tell me about your father. (see: Remind me about your father.)
Talk end option tango.png Uh, okay.
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Talk more option tango.png Remind me about your father.
When the violence started, he wanted to make sure no approaching ships were in danger. He wanted to make sure the lighthouse would warn everyone.
Talk more option tango.png And he sent you away.
Because...because...I think he knew that hew would die. I want him to be wrong. I want to scream at him for taking such a risk. I want him here. He can't go yet.
Talk more option tango.png How are you holding up? (see above)
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Captain Tokk or Lionguard Tyrro
I keep thinking I'm going to wake up back home, safe and warm in Lion's Arch.
Talk end option tango.png At least you're safe here.
Speaking with Crusader Aurus Fuseblight
Someone sings in the camp at night. Apparently it's a norn mourning ballad. Saddest thing I ever heard.
Talk end option tango.png I don't know what to say.
Speaking with Bartender Silvergrace
It's okay. I'm alive, and as long as I'm alive, I can endure this. I'll rebuild my shop and start over.
Talk end option tango.png That's the spirit.
Speaking with Alainn or Keeper Olda
I can't believe it. One minute everything was fine; the next the city was crumbling.
Talk end option tango.png You're safe now.
Speaking with Fyr Raggedfur
Mark my words: Evon Gnashblade is going to use this disaster to drive every other merchant out of business.
Talk end option tango.png We'll see.
Speaking with Lionguard Atrix
I can't get the taste of that awful gas out of my mouth. At least I'm not coughing as much as the others.
Talk end option tango.png There's that.

Ambient dialogue[edit]

Aid Worker Symon: Three more cases of the rattling cough. The sick aren't responding to standard healing incantations.
Aid Worker Brokka: Collect sputum samples from the infected, and bring them to the Red Labs immediately.
Aid Worker Symon: At once, Lightbringer. What should we do about the sick?
Aid Worker Brokka: There's little we can do for them. Focus on gathering as much intelligence as we can.
Aid Worker Brokka: And don't call me Lightbringer. We're aid volunteers from Sparkfly Fen. Adhere to the cover.
Aid Worker Symon: Understood.
Aid Worker Symon: The refugees keep mentioning a sky platform with a drill burrowing for something in the harbors of Lion's Arch.
Aid Worker Brokka: I'll let the master know. Keep talking with the refugees. It'll have to do until we get operatives inside the city.

Bouldermouth Vale, Lornar's Pass[edit]

Speaking with Tigg

(Before rescuing him:)

It's so heartbreaking, so unfathomable, so... (cries) Oh, Meep! You'll be the one I loved the most.
Talk merchant tango.png I hate to interrupt, but I'd like to do some shopping.
Talk end option tango.png I'll be going.

(After rescuing him, even after completion of the achievement All Bets Are Off:)

Ooooh, you. Have you come to curse my existence some more? Perhaps give me some quantum malady that goes back in time and kills me? Hmmmm?
Talk merchant tango.png No, I've come to do a little shopping.
Talk more option tango.png What are you so cranky about? I saved you.
My moas! Was it so hard to save them? My livelihood is extinct, like my poor moas now are. Oh, my poor darlings. As stupid as skritt, but so graceful and kind.
Talk more option tango.png At least you're alive.
(sniff) I know your feeble mind means well, and you did prevent my untimely demise. I am offering goods to help rebuild my business. Care to transact?
Talk merchant tango.png Anything to get you back on your feet.
Talk end option tango.png Not right now.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png Time to go.
Speaking with Urmaug

(After rescuing him:)

I know your face. You brought me from my home to this place. I will pay this debt of courage on behalf of my kin, pets, and myself with something special for you.
Talk merchant tango.png What do you have to offer?
Talk more option tango.png How are you faring out here?
The air is clean, and my pets are well fed. We have been in worse places.
Talk more option tango.png Do you miss Lion's Arch?
We travel where it is best for our kin and pets. If Lion's Arch falls, we will find a new home.
Talk end option tango.png Safe travels, then.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Talk end option tango.png Maybe later.
Speaking with Lionguard Belongings Collector
Lootings aren't allowed, friend. If you're carrying anything belonging to any refugees, you best hand them over now. I'll make it worth your while.
Talk give option tango.png I found these belongings.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Kasmeer Meade
Thank the Six you're here. This is a disaster. I can't even guess how many have been killed in there.
Talk more option tango.png How are you holding up?
It's terrifying. It's not a warzone; it's a massacre. Six months ago, I could never have handled something like this.
Talk more option tango.png You're a different person now.
Maybe. Maybe it's an illusion. Hic! Ever since I was a little girl, I'd get hiccups when I was scared. That's the real me- A scared little girl.
Talk more option tango.png I've seen you be as brave as any great hero.
Illusions can be powerful. But thank you for the kind words. They mean a lot.
Talk end option tango.png Don't ever underestimate yourself.
Talk end option tango.png See you later.
Speaking with Marjory Delaqua
Your deductive skills are impressive. If you hadn't put all the clues together and come up with "Lion's Arch", we'd still be scrambling to get here.
Talk more option tango.png It was your contacts that got us the evidence.
Teamwork, then. (sigh) It's pure madness in the city. I've seen dark things in my life, but nothing like this. This is the definition of evil.
Talk more option tango.png Scarlet has to be our first priority. How are you?
I'm fine. Kas is keeping up a brave face, but her hiccups have worsened. She does that when she's afraid. It'd be adorable if it didn't only happen under terrible circumstances.
Talk more option tango.png Why doesn't she wait here?
I've suggested it, but she won't let me go in alone. Part of me is thankful she's beside me. Another part is scared something will happen to her.
Talk end option tango.png As long as you have each other, you'll be fine, Marjory.
Talk end option tango.png Thanks!
Speaking with Emissary Vorpp
Ah, it's you. I'm pleased to have the chance to congratulate you in person for your performance with the Scarlet Briar evidence. One might say you shone, surprising as that is.
Talk more option tango.png I just wish they'd listened to our warnings.
Indeed. Some prefer blindness to preparedness. Fools. I've been readying this camp ever since you came to your conclusion. We, as always, are on cutting edge.
Talk end option tango.png So true.
Speaking with Klagg
I'm afraid to close my eyes. I keep thinking the gas will choke me in the middle of the night.
Talk end option tango.png No one will let that happen to you.
Speaking with Captain "Bonny" Anne Reid
The second that miasma blows out of Lion's Arch, I'm gonna skin Scarlet to her seeds. If she has any.
Talk end option tango.png Good luck.
Speaking with Captain Farth Scarclaw
If I was 30 years younger and my warband was still alive, we'd have gutted Scarlet the moment she floated into the city. Dman shame getting old.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.
Speaking with Host Melydiod
My store went up in flames. I barely got out alive.
Talk end option tango.png Take care.
Speaking with Edda
I can't believe it. One minute everything was fine; the next the city was crumbling.
Talk end option tango.png You're safe now.
Speaking with Kerryn Deverol
Have you been to the trade district? Is it still standing? Wait, don't say. I don't think I can handle the answer.
Talk end option tango.png If you say so.
Speaking with Innkeeper Aela
I just returned from a buying trip in Rata Sum to find this mess. Now I have product I can't stock and creditors I can't pay.
Talk end option tango.png Good-bye.

Ambient dialogue[edit]

Kasmeer Meade: I don't think we're going to win this battle.
Marjory Delaqua: I know what you mean. For every one we save, three more die. You can stay here, if you'd like.
Kasmeer Meade: Not if you're going back in. We're a team.
Marjory Delaqua: Even if we only save one more, it's worth it.
Kasmeer Meade: Agreed.
Kasmeer Meade: So, this is what it's like to have a mission. To be an adventurer. Danger, risk.
Marjory Delaqua: You don't have to do this, sweetheart.
Kasmeer Meade: I know I don't. But, being with you has made me want to be a better person.
Kasmeer Meade: And this is what better people do.
Marjory Delaqua: You're already nigh perfect in my eyes.
Kasmeer Meade: Careful there, Miss Delaqua. You're going to make me blush.
Marjory Delaqua: You're cold.
Kasmeer Meade: F-f-freezing.
Marjory Delaqua: Too bad you can't mesmer up a fur cloak to keep you warm
Kasmeer Meade: (laugh) I don't need one. I have you. Come on over here.
Marjory Delaqua: With Pleasure.
Kasmeer Meade: I wonder how Rox and Braham are doing.
Marjory Delaqua: Knowing them, they're probably happy as clams, tearing into Aetherblades or toxic krait.
Kasmeer Meade: I'm really glad we've all met. I have a good feeling about our little guild.
Marjory Delaqua: It was serendipity, perhaps. Or the gods may still be watching over us after all.
Kasmeer Meade: I choose to believe they are. Praise the Six.
Kasmeer Meade: What was it like for you? In the Ministry Guard
Marjory Delaqua: It was a job like any other job. Except I got to eat, sleep, and breathe it.
Kasmeer Meade: When did you join?
Marjory Delaqua: As soon as I was able. My father...isn't nice like yours was. Nor is my family wealthy.
Kasmeer Meade: I'm sorry.
Marjory Delaqua: Not your fault. It is what it is.
Kasmeer Meade: Do you see your family?
Marjory Delaqua: My mother, yes. And my sisters. Not my father. Not if I can avoid it.
Kasmeer Meade: So, when did you join the Durmand Priory?
Marjory Delaqua: Shortly after I quit the guard. I knew I'd need to be able to tap a good source of information to be a detective.
Kasmeer Meade: I'm surprised you didn't choose the Order of Whispers.
Marjory Delaqua: Those rats? Nah. They're too secretive, even among themselves.
Kasmeer Meade: Besides, dressed as you are, I bet you stand out more at the Priory than among Whispers.
Marjory Delaqua: (laugh) Exactly. Presentation is everything.
Priory Magister Vallen: Strange. The gas weapon isn't the same as the nightmare pollen from the Kessex Hills tower.
Priory Novice Ailis: I could have sworn they'd be related.
Priory Magister Vallen: I did too. This agent is far worse. It's corrosive on contact and lethal in large doses.
Priory Novice Ailis: Any progress on a vaccine for the miasma?
Priory Magister Vallen: None. It doesn't correspond to any known antitoxin.
Priory Novice Ailis: What in Durmand's name are we dealing with?
Priory Magister Vallen: A climbing fatality rate for the refugees ...and perhaps Scarlet's ultimate weapon.
Priory Novice Ailis: I've been in touch with the hyleks, as you asked. They've found the poison—in small doses—will work its way out of the survivor's body.
Priory Magister Vallen: It's not wholly fatal? That's fantastic news.
Priory Novice Ailis: It depends on the potency of the dose and time exposed to the miasma.
Priory Magister Vallen: When the wind shifts, we can assault Lion's Arch. Wait, how did the Hylek determine this?
Priory Novice Ailis: The didn't tell me directly. I heard something about bonfires.
Priory Magister Vallen: Have you begun compiling the eyewitness reports for the scholars?
Priory Novice Ailis: Magister, I'm...not sure questioning the refugees so soon after the disaster is a good idea.
Priory Novice Ailis: While I'm not a medical professional, they are exhibiting classic signs of mental trauma.
Priory Novice Ailis: Perhaps it would be better to let them gather their wits...or at least have a good night's sleep in our camp.
Priory Magister Vallen: We gave eyewitnesses to history, novice. Records must be kept of this moment. Do your duty.
(Priory Novice Ailis walks to Refugee)
Priory Novice Ailis: Tell me, what did you see? What happened in the city?
Refugee: I...please, I can't talk about it.
Priory Novice Ailis: I know this is difficult, but you were an eyewitness. Please, share what you have seen.
Refugee: Is this all that you can think about right now?
Refugee: I lost my son. My only son. Put that in your scroll.
Priory Novice Ailis: I didn't mean—
Refugee: Go away. Now!
Marjory Delaqua: Looks like the miasma's clearing out. You sure you wouldn't rather stay here?
Kasmeer Meade: Not on your life. Where you go, I go.
Marjory Delaqua: Kas—
Kasmeer Meade: C'mon! Let's go save some people.
