— Armor Repair

Repairs was a game mechanic that used to remove the penalty for being defeated. It was replaced with the Reinforce Armor mechanic in the June 28, 2022 update.

Mechanics[edit]

Armor state: 5 Damaged and 2 Broken

When defeated, one random piece of equipped armor (including back items and Aquatic Headgear) will become damaged. This has no negative effect on the character - damaged armor still provides its full defense and attribute bonuses.

After all equipped pieces of armor are damaged, items will randomly become broken when defeated. Broken armor provides no attribute or defense bonuses, but upgrade components continue to provide their normal effects.

Damaging and breaking armor does not occur when:

Dialogue[edit]

Have any damaged armor? I'll fix it right up!
If the character has damaged armor:
Talk more option tango.png Great, fix me up!
Good as new! Unless you start up bear-wrangling, this should last you a while.
Talk end option tango.png That won't be a problem. Thanks.
Before unlocking the repair function on your character:
Talk more option tango.png What do you mean by "damaged" armor?
You don't have to worry about this yet, but suffering a defeat in battle will damage your armor. Visit me and I'll have you up and running in no time!
Talk merchant tango.png I'd like to sell a few things. (same as below)
Talk end option tango.png Thanks.
Talk merchant tango.png I'd like to sell a few things.
All right, show me your wares.
Talk back option tango.png You mentioned armor repairs.
Talk end option tango.png That's all I needed. Thanks.
Talk end option tango.png No, thanks.

Notes[edit]

  • Amulets, rings, accessories and weapons cannot be damaged.
  • If defeated underwater, aquatic headgear may be damaged instead of head piece.
  • Swapping equipped damaged armor for undamaged armor in your inventory will prevent it from becoming broken.
  • If you are defeated while wearing Diving Goggles and apparently stripped of all equipment, a random piece of armor will be damaged anyway.
  • If you are defeated, and then revived by another player with the Noblesse Oblige mastery afterwards, the armor will automatically be repaired.
If a piece of legendary gear is worn in multiple templates, being damaged or broken in one template but not damaged in the template currently being used, the game will not allow repairing that gear showing the dialogue Looks like you can't afford the repair cost. The player must equip the template in which the legendary gear is damaged to be able to repair it.

Trivia[edit]

  • Equipment repair costs were removed with the April 15, 2014 game update. Before the update, each damaged or broken piece cost Copper coin plus Copper coin per level to be repaired, i.e. 11 Silver coin 48 Copper coin to repair a full set of seven level 80 pieces of equipment.
