Defeat the misplaced steam ogre is a level 18 group event that occurs in Thaumanova Reactor. Players must find the Matrix Cube Key located randomly in the Thaumanova Reactor and infuse it with all four elements located within the reactor. Completing this event rewards the Cleanup Crew achievement under the Bosses category.

To gain access to the event, someone must infuse a Matrix Cube Key with fire, water, ice, and earth, and then use the charged key on a control panel to open up a barrier protecting a hole in the floor. Anyone may then jump down onto a floating platform with another panel. Pushing a button on the second panel releases a Champion Steam Ogre. The ogre is not much of a threat, since it uses melee attacks only and can be easily kited. The only real risk is falling off the platform. After defeating the boss, a Secret Reactor Treasure spawns.

A two-minute destruction countdown will commence after defeating the boss. To escape, jump through the portal that appears just off the eastern side of the platform. The platform will explode at the end of the countdown, causing everyone left on the platform to enter a downed state shortly before being teleported to the east entrance of Thaumanova Reactor.

Notes

• There is a Concentrated Chaotic Radiation object on the steam ogre's platform that can be used to charge the Chaos Orb obtained during The Dragon's Reach: Part 2.
• The area can also be accessed with the 9th selection of Class I Rift Stabilizer or the 9th,1st selection of Class II Rift Stabilizer as of the October 4, 2016 patch.
• The reset time on this event is 20 minutes. As long as you have a fully charged key, you can do this event as long as it is reset.

Bug:

Players affected by lag or network latency may be teleported in to the sky multiple times upon jumping into the center reactor room's hole before actually staying on the platform that holds the steam ogre.
