Agony Resistance.png Agony Resistance is the attribute that reduces the damage taken from Agony 40px.png Agony, an effect exclusively found in the Fractals of the Mists which reduces healing and causes a large amount of damage to players without a sufficient amount of agony resistance.

Acquisition[edit]

Primary article: Infusion

The primary way to acquire agony resistance is to add Infusions to infusion slots in GAscended equipment. Ascended amulets have an enrichment slot instead of an infusion slot.

Maximizing resistance[edit]

The following should be kept in mind for maximizing Agony Resistance:

Cost efficient methods[edit]

The following are possible combinations that equate to 150 agony resistance. Other combinations are possible, but are excluded for brevity.

Note: These setups do not take into account the infusions required for 3 or more weapons. Therefore, it is recommended to place the lowest +X agony infusion on your weapons to reduce the cost. Only the current active weapon set will have their agony resistance counted.

Cheap
Requires the least amount of infusions to get started, but adding more weapons will get expensive.
Total: 3072 +1 Agony Infusions and 45 Gold coin 68 Silver coin 24 Copper coin in reagents
Addition weapon cost: 7 Agony Infusion.png +8 Agony Infusion (128 +1 Agony Infusions and Gold coin 89 Silver coin 97 Copper coin) for each slot
Efficient
Slightly more expensive, but adding more weapons is cheaper.
Total: 3200 +1 Agony Infusions and 47 Gold coin 59 Silver coin 80 Copper coin in reagents
Additional weapon cost: 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusion (64 +1 Agony Infusions and 94 Silver coin 24 Copper coin) for each slot
For attribute infusions
This is the most cost efficient set up that allows you to achieve 150 agony resistance and a full set of 18 attribute infusions.
Total: 3456 +1 Agony Infusions and 51 Gold coin 42 Silver coin 72 Copper coin in reagents
Additional weapon cost: 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusion (64 +1 Agony Infusions and 94 Silver coin 24 Copper coin) for each slot
Total (with full attribute infusions): 10908 +1 Agony Infusions, 154 Gold coin 28 Silver coin 16 Copper coin in reagents and 300 Integrated Fractal Matrix.png Integrated Fractal Matrix
Additional weapon cost: +7 attribute infusion (192 +1 Agony Infusions, Gold coin 82 Silver coin 72 Copper coin and 10 Integrated Fractal Matrix.png Integrated Fractal Matrix) for each slot
Legacy
This setup was used prior to the July 26, 2016 update. The Versatile Simple Infusion.png +7 Simple Infusions may be switched out for 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusion if you wish to continue using this setup.
The +10 and +11 infusions may be "salvaged" into lower infusions through INFUZ-5959 to achieve one of the above setups.
Total: 3584 +1 Agony Infusions and 53 Gold coin 53 Silver coin 91 Copper coin in reagents (An additional 896 +1 Agony Infusions and 13 Gold coin 19 Silver coin 36 Copper coin in reagents if no Versatile Simple Infusion.png +7 Simple Infusion)
Additional weapon cost: Versatile Simple Infusion.png +7 Simple Infusion or 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusion (64 +1 Agony Infusions and 94 Silver coin 24 Copper coin for each slot
For players without Heart of Thorns or Agony Channeler mastery
Only 16 infusion slots are required for this set up.
Total: 5632 +1 Agony Infusions and 84 Gold coin 62 Copper coin in reagents
Additional weapon cost: +9 infusion (256 +1 Agony Infusions and 31 Gold coin 91 Silver coin 44 Copper coin) for each slot

Other possible combinations[edit]

These are some combinations that will either not reach the 150 agony resistance threshold or exceed it.

All +9 infusions
May also be done with +9 attribute infusions.
Total: 4608 +1 Agony Infusions and 68 Gold coin 65 Silver coin 92 Copper coin in reagents
Additional weapon cost: 9 Agony Infusion.png +9 Agony Infusion (256 +1 Agony Infusions and 31 Gold coin 91 Silver coin 44 Copper coin) for each slot
Using Anguished Tear of Alba
Used by people who wish to use as few infusions as possible. This method totals up to 135 agony resistance allowing the remaining to be attained by using an Anguished Tear of Alba which grants up to 15 agony resistance. Note that there will be a recurring cost if you need more agony resistance when using this method (Scale 92 and above).
Total: 1728 +1 Agony Infusions and 25 Gold coin 58 Silver coin 7 Copper coin in reagents
Additional Weapon cost: 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusion (64 +1 Agony Infusion and 94 Silver coin 24 Copper coin for each slot
Note: If you do not have the mastery, the Anguished Tear of Alba will only grant 10 agony resistance. To remedy this problem, you may convert 5 7 Agony Infusion.png +7 Agony Infusions into 7 Agony Infusion.png +8 Agony Infusions or train the mastery.
Raider's Loadout
For the characters that will never touch fractals.
Total: 864 +1 Agony Infusions, 12 Gold coin 9 Silver coin 60 Copper coin in reagents and 90 Integrated Fractal Matrix.png Integrated Fractal Matrix
Additional weapon cost: +5 attribute infusion (48 +1 Agony Infusions, 57 Silver coin 20 Copper coin) and 5 Integrated Fractal Matrix.png Integrated Fractal Matrix for each slot

Other Cost Saving Tips[edit]

When crafting infusions with attribute bonuses, it is cheaper to start by crafting the +5 attribute infusions and then use them to create a +7 one, and use two +7 to craft a +9, though the cost difference is really small.

Cost to create one +5 attribute infusion 48 5 15
Cost to upgrade two +5 into one +7 192 10 180
Cost to create one +7 attribute infusion 192 10 189
Cost to upgrade four +5 into two +7 into one +9 768 20 738
Cost to upgrade two +7 into one +9 768 20 756
Cost to create one +9 attribute infusion 768 20 765

Table[edit]

Each point of AR reduces the health loss by 1.2 percentage points, to a minimum of 1% health lost per second. The table shows every 10th scale, and increments of 5 AR (6 percentage points reduction) for brevity.
